DINOSAUR ISLAND PLOT-A group of army soldiers get stranded on an island inhabited by a tribe of amazon women. Mistaken for gods, the men are forced to do battle with "The Great One", a fake-ass rubber dinosaur. WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT-I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't see this one. Man, what a great movie. I've actually watched this many times, and have owned it for a few years now. A late-night cable favorite, this one has a cast to die for and was directed by Jim Wynorski and Fred Olen Ray (two giants in the field of modern B-movie filmmaking). Knockout performances by Michelle Bauer, Antonia Dorian, and Griffin Drew (Nikki Fritz also has a minor role) make this a must-see for any B-movie fan. In the documentary SOME NUDITY REQUIRED, Jim Wynorski talks about this film a bit. He says it's a movie for men, and that it allows the audience to finally see a film where shipwrecked guys actually get to have their way with the Amazons. Jim seemed like kind of a bad person, but I think he's right on the money. Except maybe for the "movie for men" thing. I think girls would enjoy this too. MEMORABLE SCENES-I love it when the guy shooting the T-Rex says, "Take that you dinosaur dick!" NOTES-Richard Gabai, who plays the "wacky" soldier, has been in several movies like this, my favorite being VIRGIN HIGH. He's directed a few as well, and is actually a pretty funny guy.
