Weezer
- Sat September 22, 2001 @ Cobo Arena, Detroit, MI
How lucky can you get? I had the day off and so did Derek(actually I think he was unemployed) and we knew Weezer would be playing at Cobo. So we went to the local Ticketmaster(more like TicketRipOff) located at non-customer friendly Mashall Fields. There was still tickets left so Derek and I bought two. We get to CoBo(which was a first for both of us) and we walk around to find that our seats aren't only on the lower bowl but about 10 rows from the floor on the right hand side of the stage!!! Not only were we lucky to have tix but also great seats. We both slept through the opening act which was a joke but for the hour and a half that Weezer was on stage was just incredible. I knew they were good. I knew I liked their songs. Who knew these "geek rockers" could put on a show? The highlight would of had to been when they played Only In Dreams for 15 mins ...

They brought hard rocking Sparta and the only accepted whiner in the punk community, Chris Caberra aka Dashboard Confessional. With the crowd already in a frenzy from the openers when the sun went down and Weezer taking the stage the night could only get better. For a whole hour and a half they even out did themselves(from the first time i saw them). A lil disappointed they didn't play Only In Dreams but they did play a lot of songs from Pinkerton which made up for it. I walked out of DTE with one expression, WOW.
