| Not exactally sure when I got into these guys but it wasn't long before I got out of them. I'm not gonna lie it bugs me when I see these girls on TV or hear their songs in a commercial. I guess what I'm trying to say is they're OVER EXPOSED!!! I mean sure there are other bands with more exposure but these guys don't deserve it. They're good but not that good. I love thier first album but just like Derek said "it's(young & the hopeless) too soft" and he's right. Oh well not every band you like stays the same. For GC fame changed them and it's funny 'cuz I don't think they're "made". | ||||||||||||||||
| - Mon May 27, 2002 @ Meadows Music Centre, Hartford, Ct Before Young and the Hopeless dropped Will and I took a trip out east to see the 104 Fest, which ROCKED. This was before GC started to annoy me so I was definatly all about it. Only one problem, kids on the east coast are passionate about their bands. And with GC being from the east coast everyone went nuts!!! They ended up taking a kid away on a stretcher and the set was cut down to 4 songs. But those 4 songs rocked! - Sun August 18, 2002 @ Comerica Park's Parking Lot, Detroit, Mi Not completely disgusted with them, GC put on a good show for the kids down in the D. I won't complain about GC but I will about how stupidly Warped was set up. Ask anyone who went, it was just a retarded setup! GC on the other hand had a good set was definalty a crowd pleaser. - Sat April 12, 2003 @ Cobo Arena, Detroit, Mi This set me off. I even covered my GC poster. I think I'm a fair guy so I gave them one last chance to prove to me that they're not that bad and can still rock. Well, they can't. I feel sorry for Billy and Paul. I heard a girl tell me how she loved GC and when I asked her to name the members guess who she named? Your right, Benji & Joel. That's not loving the band that's loving two members of it. Oh well. What was the kick in the nuts was when I seen these girls in the crowd holding thier mouths while in tears. I was thinking "how punk"! I'm not saying you have to be a certain age to like a band I just dont' know how if your GC you can allow this. I stood through most songs with my middle finger up in the air. I was happy however when they played an old tune but they didn't play enough old tunes. It wasn't necessarly a bad set but when all of thier set was the new CD it got old real quick. And they didn't even play "Motivation Proclaimation". So that really pissed me off. Oh well it's a good thing I was there to see NFG. *side note* don't crowd surf at a GC show. I saw a lot of people get dropped. I guess 14 yr old girls aren't as strong as you 170 pound guys think. |
