| Adam Morrison has given a verbal commitment to attend Gonzaga and play some hoops for the Zags. The 6 5 and a half, 185-pound junior scored more points in a season than any player in Greater Spokane League history this year. His Mead team made a trip to state, their first in 13 seasons, and he was named to the All-tournament team in Tacoma. Added to his resume were his GSL scoring title, first team All-League, first team All-Area, Seattle Times honorable mention All-State, and theFinalScore.TV Invitational All-Tournament team last summer. He considers himself a shooting forward and averaged 25.5 points with 7.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists for the Panthers last season. In the classroom he maintains a 3.6 GPA. Adam also has Type-1 diabetes and must maintain constant monitoring of his blood sugar level. He normally goes to the bench in each quarter and can draw blood and check it in just 40 seconds. Adam has not allowed his disease to keep him from doing what he loves to do. His father John was a college coach and Adam began playing basketball literally before he could walk. His shooting technique shows the long ingrained technique his father taught him. Dad also charts his shooting during each game. Adam played with the Eastern Washington Elite squad last summer and will once again be taking his game on the road this summer. But he will not have to worry about taking phone calls and impressing coaches as his early commitment has put all that on the shelf. He can just play and that is an enviable position. We asked what colleges had contacted him and which schools he was interested in. His response; Gonzaga, Wyoming, UCSB, EWU, WSU, Santa Clara, Portland, Oregon State, Montana State and Arizona.
