Walk in the Night
You had to walk alone that night,
Free your chest of weight it bore,
Watch the hills 'til it became light.

Though both you tried with all your might
He hadn't meant to send you out nor
Had you, to walk alone that night.

You took the path led far from sight
And heavy were the thoughts you wore
But walked the hills 'til they became light.

It was the bitter cold you had to fight,
No warmth left now within the core
Had you, to walk alone that night.

And with each step the scene made bright
With morning sun which slowly tore
Through the hills 'til it became light.

He followed at the break of day, despite
Your efforts, found you then and softly swore
You had to walk alone that night
Among the hills 'til it became light.
