| tuna at 2:am I just had a thought We haven't really kept in contact You're a phantom of a girl I once loved A summer memory of life before we really knew it So why now such a distance? What happened to our straight clairvoyance? If tonight's the eve of your birthday then why isn't it me who's sleeping? I stare out the window in bed tonight Why doesn't the rain fall when you want it to? I think I'll go back to my thoughts for now Why doesn't it rain when you just feel like weeping? So what's with the long face? It's not as though the world's gonna end tonight If you do it long enough it'll stick that way You keep my mind full of questions And apologies that will never be given But we're not really kids any more are we? I would act my age if I believed in dates If today is tomorrow's past now lost then why aren't I the one who's changing things? I stare out the window in bed tonight Why doesn't the rain fall when you want it to? I think I'll go back to my thoughts for now Why doesn't it rain when you just feel like breaking down? |
