Junction's End
We're throwing and avoiding
questions and answers
like fifth grade dodge ball.
You don't know you could catch me,
and I'll never tell you how.

Sparring with each other
in a ring made of stone,
we're abetted by the others' cues.
Neither's gonna win this match, can't you see,
when we've both got something to lose.

But you've got your life,
I've got mine,
when we happened along two roads
intertwined.
Though happiness should be gained from within,
with loneliness you need another to heal again.

This game should be over,
the fun sport we made.
For now good things must come to an end.
Yet, suddenly we find it's hard to let go...
we hadn't expected to feel this way
again.

The echos in our ears are
the sound of my voice.
I'm telling you
the paths have diverged.
I can't bear to look back at this one-way street,
but I'll remember you walked it with me when I urged.

'Cause you've got your life,
I've got mine,
we happened along two roads intertwined.
Though happiness should be gained from within,
in emptiness you seek another to be whole again.
