Food For Thought
SOY FREE Puppy is what our Shar-Pei puppies eat after they are weaned from their mother's milk, then we gradually change them over to a Soy Free Adult dog food. Many Shar-Pei are allergic to SOY in any form; this includes soy meal, soy bean, or anything associated with soy. Soy can ruin your Pei's coat for life, and also cause serious medical illnesses, such as internal bleeding and liver problems. Always check label ingredients on all foods and treats.
We even address their diet in our puppy contract which goes with each puppy we place:
"DIET" - Most Shar-Pei are allergic to food containing Soy. Not all Pei are affected, but it is better to take precaution than to endanger your Pei's health. DO NOT ever feed your Pei anything containing Soy. In some Shar-Pei, Soy can cause severa internal problems (such as bleeding); and could cause irreversible skin/coat damage. Always check ingredients in foods before giving it to your Pei. The same can be true of foods containing too high of a Protein content. Protein content 21% is the perfect amount of protein and Shar-Pei tend to tolerate it well."
We have found that Pugs do well on most any good quality, name brand dog food. Our Pug puppies eat quality Puppy food after being weaned from their mother's milk; then they are gradually switched over to adult dog food.
Our puppies are born and raised inside our home as part of our family. They are exposed to people, children, cats, and other dogs. In this manner, they will be comfortable in any situation they go into.
Once you have adopted a puppy from us, we will be there for you 24/7, holidays and weekends included. We are here whenever you need us to help with questions or concerns. |
