In accordance with Dave's wishes, half of his ashes were scattered at one of his favourite places, Worm's Head Island, Rhossili Bay, Gower, South Wales. His Dad Alan, His brother John & John's wife Cath, His sister Sam and friend Sean, crossed via the causeway at 3pm on Friday 31st October 2003. Three Rockets representing his family, his partner & his friends were fired in his honour and Dave's ashes were scattered on a beautiful, south facing rocky outcrop at 3.45pm. A Yew tree from Dave's garden was planted in remembrance in a wind sheltered spot at the entrance to the island.
It was The most fitting and loving tribute I have ever had the honour to witness

A worm is an ancient name for a Dragon. You can see in the distance the top of the Dragon's head and it's nose jutting out of the water |

The island is reached via a causeway which is open for 2 hours either side of low tide. It takes about half an hour to cross to the island |

Dave always insisted on making the climb up the first hill, The Dragon's Head, even though there was an easier route around the side |

The problem with climbing the Dragons Head is that you have to climb down |

On the first page of this site. Dave is standing right on the top of the rock that you can see in the distance - the Dragon's Nose. There is a picture of Dave camping just below the second hill in on the left on the picture's page |

Dave's Ashes were scattered amongst the rocks and plants of this South facing rocky outcrop overlooking the whole of the island and the gower peninsula to the left. It is just to the left of the picture above. Three rockets were fired out to sea from this point. |

A yew tree from Dave's back garden in Bradford was planted at the entrance to the island in a spot that you can see Dave sitting at on the pictures page. John and Alan carefully dug a hole and placed the remainder of Dave's ashes beneath the roots of the tree |
