| I was raised many years ago with music in my heart Those tunes of 78's were on the old wooden cart "Three little fishies" was a favorite of mine I could feel the music dancing down my spine There were also hymns I heard from time to time All the words reached down into this soul of mine Rock 'n' Roll was introduced and that was fine by me All those crazy dance steps, and what was to be Those 78's were replaced by 45's on that wooden cart A stereo replaced the victrola and speakers bounced in your heart The singers added a differnt sound, this thing called Rock 'n' Roll Our folks wondered and worried what would happen to our soul Those 45's were replaced by 33-1/3 for us Another cart was added with much complaint and fuss So many kinds of music, now country is all I hear It takes me back home again, where my heart was always clear |
