| The day you asked me for my hand You said that forever love I'd understand You would give me love forever with a rose I knew you were my forever love, I suppose Our anniversary, the birth of our child You were so loving: the meek and mild I cannot remember when you didn't give your love Surely you were sent to me from God above The music in the world was love you would compose You still remember all our love, again with a rose Each kiss and touch you gave, I could embrace I always saw the love in your eyes and on your face The years have shown in many different ways You never forgot to give a rose on those wonderful days Then ond day God took you, the doctor couldn't save Now it's my turn, love, to place a rose upon your grave |
