The Defintion of a Lifetime

And the silence fill the corners
of narrow bridges link two hearts
and in the summer we're burning lovers
tearing down barriors dividing hearts
and the black birds are wriiting letters
to far off places like the beach
and saddly I'll be waiting in living poems out of reach
the leaves fall for a century broken pictures and memories
and now I'm writting diary entrees
composed in bottles off to sea
to a soldier across the ocean
what is freedom is freedom free
the boldness of an expression
we are equal but that's a lie
the definition of a lifetime
why can't I have mine
the christians keep pretending
that they're in charge of everything
while the leaves fall all the people
watch the buildings like they believe
and the silence fill the corners
of narrow bridges link two hearts
and in the summer we're burning lovers
tearing down barriors dividing hearts
the definition of a lifetime
