Summer is finally here!! It looks like it may have stopped raining for a little while. Actually, June was another very rainy month. We got over 5 inches of rain! Right now though, it is very sunny and hot. This month I am going to have a shorter website since I am on summer vacation and my mom said I could take a little break. I finished my tests and my evaluation and passed third grade! I am very excited. Plus I can't believe that I have done a whole year of my website! This month we took the July newsletter that I had e-mailed to everyone last summer and put it onto the homepage of my website. So now there are 12 editions of the website! My mom took Gabrielle and I to the Trexler Game Preserve. It is almost like a zoo but they only take animals that have been hurt or rescued and can't live in the wild. I really liked the river otters because they were funny to watch. They wrestled each other and it looked like they did tricks in the water. The park ranger said that they were not trained to do "tricks" but they were just doing what they would do in the wild. |

I also went on a tour of Heavenly Hedgehog which is an ice cream shop in Bethlehem. The woman owns the store showed us how she makes the ice cream. She really has to do a lot of cleaning of all the equipment. She does it so there won't be any germs anywhere in the ice cream. |

Then she showed us how she makes cookie dough ice cream. It was only 11:00 in the morning but we got to try the ice cream! It was delicious. |

I just got home from my grandparents' house. Gabrielle and I stayed at their house for 3 days because my mom and dad went to a wedding. It was very fun! We went on a train and boat ride along the Connecticut River. We also played a lot. My month was great! I hope yours was too! |

My dad's birthday was June 28th. He turned 40 and this poem is for him. |

|
My dad is turning 40 now. All I can say is, "Holy Cow!"
If the truth be told, Some would say, "You're getting old!"
But you still like to run and play, You make us happy every day.
We hope we make you happy, too, So we have made a wish for you. |

Monthly Math Challenge |

The monthly math challenge is taking a break this month! Here is the answer to the May Math Challenge: When the person gives you the sum of their 3 numbers, you should divide by 3. That will give the the average, which will tell you their middle number. Then just subtract 1 and add 1 to get the other two numbers.(Example: If their total was 39, you divide by 3 which equals 13. That means their numbers were 12, 13 and 14!) |
