May went by very fast for me! I had a lot of things to do and it kept me very busy.
At the beginning of the month my grandparents visited and they helped us with our yard sale. My Poppa also helped build the rocket launchers for the Cub Scout Rocket Day. Rocket Day was a lot of fun. Everybody got to launch their rockets at least three times. The rockets went really high up and we all spent a lot of time running after our rockets and trying to find them when they landed. The other Webelos and I built two-stage rockets. When we launched the two-stage rockets, most of them disappeared! On my third time launching, my rocket went so high and so far that we couldn't find it. I think all the boys and their parents had a good time. We also had our Cub Scout Pack meeting and it was a lot of fun because we played a game show where we raced to get answers about Pennsylvania and our Pack.
After a lot of rehearsals my dance classes had the recital. My tap class was the first dance to perform and my jazz class was the second to last to perform!!! I had a lot of time to wait in between, but I got to watch almost all the other dances. I wasn't too nervous and I think my classes did well.
I also had to finish up my school projects because I had my evaluation this month. I made a puppet theater and did a puppet show for one of the books I read. I also completed a big map project for the five regions of the United States. Mom says that school is not over yet. We're still going to do some Pennsylvania history, math, reading and take some field trips.
A few month's ago I started the President's Physical Fitness Challenge. (It was in the
March Website - P.E. Challenge.) On May 24th, I completed 20,000 points to earn the Bronze Award! On the day that I had my evaluation, my award arrived and my mom gave it to me during the evaluation. I'm now working on earning enough points for the Silver Award!

Here I am after receiving my P.E. award with my former 2nd grade teacher. She is my evaluator.
For Memorial Day Weekend we were invited to a friends' lake cabin in the Pocono Mountains. We didn't swim much in the lake because the air and the water were pretty chilly. We did do a lot of fishing, kayaking and I really liked the pedal boat that you move by pedaling like a bicycle. We went into the small town near the lake one night for dinner and ice cream! Inside we played a lot of games. I really liked the games "Catch Phrase" and "Racko."
Our new kitchen counter finally arrived so I hope that next month I will post some pictures showing our new kitchen.

June 8- The transit of Venus across the Sun
Venus will be in a direct line between Earth and the Sun. With special viewers you can look at the sun and see Venus as a dark spot as it crosses the sun. It's happening early in the morning on the East coast of the U.S. and we will only be able to see the last of the crossing. Europe will be able to see the entire transit.
This website has links to viewing charts, lesson plans and activities.

Gabrielle's Grab bag
This month Gabrielle is helping me write this by telling me what she wants in the Grab Bag.
Gabrielle loved it when Grandma and Poppa came over. She also liked going to the Wooden Park on Rocket Day to play with Poppa. She liked the swings. Grandma taught Gabrielle how to swing all by herself. She doesn't need anybody to push her. Gabrielle liked watching me dance during the recital. She wanted to be on stage!
Gabrielle had fun at our friend's lake cabin. She liked fishing and she caught three fish which is more than anyone else caught! She also caught the biggest fish. She wanted to pet the fish before our dad put it back in the water. One of our friends had two pet gerbils and Gabrielle wanted to play with them all the time. Gabrielle loves all kinds of animals. She sure had a great month!
