The Flunking of Joshua T. Bates

     How would you feel if you found out on the last day of summer vacation that you had to repeat third grade? That's what happened to Joshua T. Bates. Joshua is not happy! He is angry at last year's teacher and he's afraid of being teased. Most of all he is afraid of his new third grade teacher, Mrs. Goodwin, who he thinks looks exactly like an army tank!
     This book is about all his experiences in repeating third grade. Believe it or not, this book is very funny, and I really liked the ending. You should read this book and if you like it check out the sequels:
