LESSON ON REMAINDER AND FACTOR THEOREM FOR SEC 3 A MATHS
ABOUT THIS LESSON: OBJECTIVES
In this lesson you are going to learn
1 polynomial division  by long method and synthetic division method.
2. Use reamainder theorem to find tht remainder when a polynomial divided by a linear polynomial
3. Use factor theorem to verify whether a given  linear polynomial is a factor of another polynomial or not.
4. Solving cubic or higher order polynomial  by use of these thorems and synthetic division method
5. Do some exercise on this chapter.

PRACTICE  EXERCISE
Remainder and Factor theorem
1.  How the dividend, diivisor,  quotient and remainder are related?. In other words write an equation connecting them
2. If  x^3+7x-3 = (x+1)(ax^2+bx+c) +1 , find the values of a,b and c

3. Divide x^4 -3x^3-x+10 by x-1. Check your remainder by use of remainder theorem.
