In the spring semester of 1990, Frater Brad Schuber transferred, from the Pace Pleasentville campus, to the Manhattan campus. Having already been a member of Sigma Iota Chapter, he had one intention; to start a chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon at Pace Manhattan.

During that same semester a Greek mixer was held, which Brad attended. He was approached by some men who were not satisfied with the local organizations on campus and were curios about the letters TKE that were worn on his chest. He then explained to them the benefits of being part of, not just any fraternity, but the largest and most powerful international fraternity in the world; Tau Kappa Epsilon. These men suddenly became very eager to start TKE at Pace Manhattan, and become the first national on campus.

Later in the semester, Brad and his group of perspectives planned to hold a meeting. Posters were made and flyers were passed out with the hopes of finding more brave men that would be willing to face the challenge ahead. When the meeting was finally held, over fifty men showed up. They were informed, not only of the benefits of TKE, but also of the many obstacles, within the school, that they were to soon to face and must overcome. Some men left, in fear of the local organizations on campus and viewing TKE at Pace as a losing battle. Those who stayed were ready and willing to take the challenge. That night, in that room, TKE had won its first battle.

During the next few semesters, TKE underwent a extensive struggle with the newly reformed Greek Council, whose members all belonged to local fraternities on campus. These local fraternities were all well aware of the serious threat that TKE proposed. They responded by designing a criteria for admittance which they knew was impossible to meet; or so they thought. After TKE met this criteria a vote was taken and TKE was voted down, seven to two.

In the following semester, Fall of 1991, the vote was questioned by the Dean of Students. He demanded a revote and valid reason from any organization who voted no. This time, TKE was unanimously accepted. In 1991, TKE at Pace University of New York City Campus was born.

In the spring semester of 1995, Frater Frank Scalia, Frater James Walloga, Frater Brian Rudden, Frater Gonzalez, Frater Paci, and Frater Tirado had answered to to the charges brought foward by Greek Council and defended the TKE honor on Campus. This accomplishment would seta pattern for the next few months to come. These same fraters had drafted our charter for chapter status. We received our chapter on December 2, 1995. We were now well on our way to expand our horizons and to pursue ultimate BROTHERHOOD. On December 2nd, The newly installed chapter celebrated a fine compliment to the ceremonies with a extravagant dinner at Salvatore Anthony's, in New York's very own Little Italy. The night was filled with glee and appreciation for the work we all accomplished together as a chapter.

Our reliance on the bond has continued to help members of Tau Pi to enhance their college years and beyond.

Since our inception at Pace University, TKE has dominated all aspects of campus life. Our members have held key positions, such as, back to back Presidents of Greek Council, James Walloga(95'-96')and Salvatore Interlandi(96'-97'), Student government Junior Rep. Joseph Roesler, Student Senate and Student Activities Fee Committee David Lahage, and the Legend yearbook editor two years in a row Robert Poliseno. TKE has cultivated the social atmosphere on campus and will continue to be pioneers in this field.
