About TKE

Tau Kappa Epsilon is an international fraternity that was started at Illinois Weslyan
University on January 10, 1899. Over the past 100 years Tau Kappa
Epsilon has grown to be the largest social fraternity in the nation, with an
acculumation of over 400 chapters.

Why choose TKE?

Tau Kappa Epsilon challenges you to make the most of your life.
Becoming a brother, gaining confidence
through experience, developing as an individual and a leader, and making
the most out of opportunitiesthese are the hallmarks of being a Teke.

The strength of Tau Kappa Epsilon is our Brotherhood. TKE men are
committed to the principles of scholarship, community service,
leadership, friendship, and athletics. As a Teke, you will pursue
a good education, volunteer in your community, participate in
social activities with sororities on campus, serve in a leadership role in your
school and chapter, challenge other fraternities to athletic contests--and more.

TKE Means Scholarship

TKE promotes scholarship and considers it vital to a Teke's development.
Thus, as a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, one of your main goals is to get
a good education. TKE's scholarship aid program can help by increasing your
possibilities even further.

TKE Mean Societal Awareness

Tekes are given the opportunity to work in a variety of community and human
relations positions. Working side by side with your brothers and others
from the community exposes you to different viewpoints and perspectives,
helping you to shape your own. The skills you bring to the task, and
those you learn and take with you, are the kind that broaden the mind
to all types of people and situations in our society.

TKE Means Leadership

By serving as a chapter officer, committee member, chairman, or in various
other positions, you develop the necessary skills for leadership. These
tasks also help you to build confidence in your own abilities and talents.
This "on-the-job" training will serve you well in the years to come.

TKE Means Friendship and Contacts

Your fraternity brothers will become some of the closest, most personal
friends you will have in your lifetime. As they move around, Tekes
seem to seek each other out--enabling you to establish new friends
in a new location more quickly. And since everyone has connections
of some kind, this network of friends can be very helpful
personally and professionally.

TKE Means Athletics and Prestige

Tau Kappa Epsilon offers an athletics program for recreation and
competition. And, as a member of TKE, you will be part of the largest
international fraternity in the U.S. and Canada. TKE members benefit
from the accomplishments of each other--and we have a lot of member
achievements of which we are very proud of.

TKE Means Challenges and Much More

The membership of TKE is very diverse. We consider men "not
for wealth, rank, or honor; but for personal worth and character."
If this membership is offered to you, accepting the challenges that
TKE can provide can help you achieve everything that you are capable of.

The choice to belong, the challenge to become.

Many benefits of joining TKE can't be explained--they can only be
experienced. Certainly, membership in TKE promises a better chance for
academic and future success. And we promise opportunities and contacts
that can only be yours when you become a Teke.
