Advice: Joshua 3:9
Howdy yawl! How's everyone doing? Everything here is just mighty fine! I have been praying for everyone this week that is taking the high school graduation test. I hope that everyone does as well as they hope. Also let me remind everyone that if you have a prayer request please send it to me so you will have multiple people praying for your prayer request! Ok let's get started on that devotional!
Where should we turn for advice?
Joshua 3:9
9. Then Joshua said to the Israelites, "Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God."
The question that is asked here actually goes back to the devotion I did on having faith! If you don't have faith then you won't be able to listen to God and see what he has to tell you! This scripture verse tells us that we should turn to God for advice! God's wisdom is more powerful than anyone ever! God is great and mighty and awesome! Another scripture verse comes to mind when I think about God's wisdom it is:
Psalm 147:5
5. Our Lord is great and very powerful. There is no limit to what he knows.
I also think of these 2 verses from proverbs:
Proverbs 2:6-7
6. Only the Lord gives wisdom; he gives knowledge and understanding.
7. He stores up wisdom for those who are honest. Like a shield he protects the innocent.
Have you ever been given bad advice? Maybe someone told you to take an easy elective for an easy grade but when you got in there the teacher made it the hardest year she has ever taught! Maybe someone gave you bad directions, like someone told you to turn right when you were supposed to turn left and then 20 miles down the road you realize that you probably gone the wrong way.
God promises to give us wisdom and common sense. He says that you just have to search for Him, take time talking to Him, obeying Him, and he will be faithful to give you the help and advice you need. God is the source of all that is wise and helpful. Don't wait if you are struggling for some advice just go to Him, he waits patiently for you to come to Him.
I know we all get busy, but throughout the day we should have some time planned out to spend time with God and worship Him! If you don't do this then you will keep turning to the wrong people for advice!
