| Setting Up Your Tank |
| 1. Buy a good sized tank for your fish(at least 10 gallons per golfish). If you don't have a stand, you can buy one at stores like Petsmart.If you don't have a stand made for aquariums,make shure that your stand is level. WARNING: If your stand is not level it has a risk of cracking or breaking 2. Next hose off gravel and put it in the tank. Smooth out the bottom WARNING: Make sure that the type of gravel that you use is either too small to get stuck in your fish's mouth or too big to get in. Make sure that the gravel is smooth on the bottom of the tank or else it may damage your fish. 3. Put the plants in. If you use plastic be careful, if there is sharp parts on the plastic don't buy it because it may damage the fins. If you are using live plants, that can help your tank by taking out some fish waste. 4. Fill the tank with water(DO NOT BUY FISH AT THIS POINT) let the water sit for at least 24 hours. Then condition with water conditioner(Clor-out,Amquel). Then add aquarium salt to the tank. 5. Turn on the filter to your aquarium.Leave the aquarium running for at least 48 hours(2 days). 6.Now buy your fish for your tank. -replace filter every month -make at least a 20% water change every week(when replacing the water, don't forget to let it set for 24 hours, condition it, and to put aquarium salt in.Make sure that the salt is desolved or it will burn your fish) |
