Ever since Edwin McCain's breakthrough hit "I'll Be" debuted on the radio years ago, I have been a huge fan of everything he has done. His new CD, Far From Over, is no exception and has been playing in my CD player since I bought it. It contains the same soulful lyrics as his previous albums, and retains the rock/jazz element that he is known for. Standout tracks include "Hearts Fall", the first single off of the record, as well as "Write Me a Song", "Kentucky", and "Dragons".

Edwin McCain's Messenger is probably my favorite of his albums. The single off of the album, "I Could Not Ask For More", was a huge hit on the radio stations and was featured in the film Message in a Bottle. The song is undoubtedly the best romantic song (in my opinion) in history, right up there with Unchained Melody. Other standout tracks include the ethereal "The Promise of You" and the bittersweet "Go Be Young".

Although this is Edwin McCain's second album, it was the one that helped him breakthrough to mainstream music. The single "I'll Be" gained instant popularity and rocketed up the charts. Another standout track from this CD is "Cleveland Park", a mythical meets modern tale of lost and love. This CD definitely cannot be missed.

Honor Among Theives, Edwin's first album, is actually the newest of his CD to be added to my collection. Most of the tracks on the album are similar to those in previous albums and showcase the band's original sound. Great songs on the CD include the somber, yet hopeful "Alive", "Solitude", with Hootie and the Blowfish's Darius Rucker and Mark Bryan. "Sorry to a Friend" is also a great track, with deals with the consequences of time and growing older.
I am looking forward to the possibility of seeing Edwin McCain live in concert as he goes on tour. Keep checking my concert page for more info. To see Edwin's site, Edwin.com, click on the picture to the right.
