WPE Grand Legend, or Rusty is a gorgeous standard bay Spanish PRE Andalusian stallion. Sired by the gorgeous Legendario out of the bay mare Grandiosa II. Rusty stands at fifteen point three hands, just one hand shorter then our senior stallion WPE Mistro. Born in 2003 and brought over to Jjeitse Baroques in October of 2008, Rusty really has a made a mark around here. Unlike his good friend Smokey [WPE Mistro], Rusty is a cattle horse. He is western right to the core, and really is fearless of our cattle. He is right up there with veteran quarter horses who have been working cattle all their life. Rusty is a real pro, and one we thoroughly enjoy working with each and every day. Rusty is a lot younger then his stable mate Smokey, and in being so is a lot more active. Rusty is very exciteable, and is always looking for someone or something to play with. Rearing is a favourite trick of his, and can be done on command. He really is just a stud colt at heart really, trying to win all the girls and just wanting to have so much fun. He has limitless bouts of energy, and with his rather fearless attitude easily challenges the cattle he works with. Rusty right now is still testing his boundries, however it is nothing too bad, and when Rusty has his good days he is a marvel. He is so sweet, gentle, and very affectionate. Sometimes he just tends to forget just how strong he is. Rusty is a rather progressive horse, and has a once we've done that lets move on attitude. Rusty is so fearless that he isn't afraid of the big bulls, and considering all the cattle don't pick a fight with Rusty he must be rather intimidating to them.
He has such incredible speed and raw power. Of course he doesn't have the speed or stamina of a racehorse, but he can pick up pretty fast. He is also rather agile too, and can spin on a dime if asked for it. Rusty is very surefooted over any terrian, which is probably because all our horses are regulary ridden over the Blue Mountains and other surfaces to make sure of this. Even though Rusty is completely fine with others he can be a rather solitary animal. He likes knowing Smokey is in the same paddock, however he just prefers to be alone sometimes and we expect this will just grow in time. He'll probably end up just wanting to have his own paddock, which is fine with us, its not that he's tempremental at all, nor doesn't like other creatures but he just likes being with himself. He is a hard working individual, very powerful, and can get a little headstrong at times. We are sure with time with us he'll grow out of it and be a lot more gentle. For now though Rusty is a perfect little boy and one we really do adore. Rusty is a swell horse to ride and is always eager to go which is probably why everyone is always wanting to ride him. Rusty is going to produce some very strong and well formed babys, with the spirit to do well in competitions. Nothing phases Rusty. He is always up for anything, and is even fine trotting beside a revving truck. It just doesn't bother him. Rusty is a lion in every sense of the word, without the dark honey colour they have. Rusty should produce some very powerful purebreds and crosses, with his fearless temprement and playful nature. He should also pass on his irresistable good looks, and high pacing strides.
