King's Ransom, or King as we call him, is a breathtaking golden palomino Spanish Lusitano stallion that stands at sixteen point one hands. He was born in the year 2000, and has been with us ever since! King is sired by Artemis' old Lipizzaner stallion Ambrosia II, who also sired our belle of the ball Belevara Classique at the same time, out of our precious cremello Andalusian mare Winter Ebony. King got his wonderful golden colour from his snow white dam, and his flawless conformation from his spanish sire and dam. King is the last remaining Winter Ebony son out there and we hope King will sire some very colourful spanish babies for us. King is a real baby, if we are honest, and he absolutely lives on attention. This boy deserves to be a superstar, and has a heart as golden as his coat. He really is an honest gentle boy that wouldn't hurt a fly. He really is a softie and can be pushed around easily. He is, unlike other stallions, actually stabled beside and put in the same paddock as Belevera Classique. They are rather good friends, always playing, always pushing each other around, and can often be seen racing through the paddock to the hay bin when fresh hay is put out. King is a gorgeous honey palomino colour which reminds me of the breathtaking white lion. King has a lot of talent, especially in dressage, dressage hack, dressage driving, and believe it or not has jumping ability. He probably won't be a Grand Prix jumping horse, but he can clear the lower fences rather well, and bred to a showjumping mare could sire some very amazing jumping babies. King was bred alongside Belevera Classique, or Vera. They are closely related since King's dam Winter Ebony is a daughter of Vera's dam Black Ebony. Since birth King and Vera have been concieved, born, raised, and trained together. They probably feel like they are siblings, and King can get rather protective of little Vera. Of course when Vera is in season she is moved away from King and Tango [SAI Midnight Tango] takes her place just incase of inbreeding, but other then that Vera and King have been together for life. Even when one isn't in a show and the other is the two go together to the show. It really gives the one in a show a lot of support, and we feel makes them a lot happier too.
When we first met Ambrosia II our jaws dropped. The magnificent specimen of ivory beauty looked like he had truly stepped out of a fantasy world. His conformation was spectacular, his colour was iconic, and his temprement was infectious. He may not have made it big in the SIM world but he was one of the finest stallions we had ever laid our eyes on. We didn't hesitate to book our two Andalusian mares to him, and boy we are glad we did. Not only did we get one boy and one girl, but one of colour and one of snow. Both King and Vera are the most beautiful Spanish horses we have ever bred and we know we owe a lot of that to Ambrosia II. They have his winning personality, and his stylish flair for showing off their talent. King is a lot less bold for use of a better word then his sister Vera, but the talent they have are equal. Vera is a lot more sure in every way, whilst King usually goes with the flow. Both work extremely hard in training, and King when he doesn't quite get something copies Vera. Somehow when he does this he ends up doing it better then her which is an extraordinary sight to see. King is an easy horse to travel, but like most of our horses really prefers to be outside. He is such a picture when he is galloping across our fields. The stud colt pasture is beside King's so it you can often see King galloping alongside the buckskin Quariesian/Azteca colt that we have. It is a great sight to see, two beautiful stallions, both of colour, their gold coat shimmering under the sunlight as they show off why Spanish horses are the only way to go. We cannot wait until King starts his stud career later in life. He should bring a lot of quality, colour, and great temprements to the next generation of Spanish horses!
