WILDLIFE REHABILITATORS

These individuals are skilled and compassionate. They rehabilitate and release sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife, or retain them if they cannot be released. They provide an alternative to Trailside Museum in River Forest, which is no longer the caring facility of Virginia Moe.

DO NOT BRING AN ANIMAL TO TRAILSIDE MUSEUM. Most animals brought to Trailside now are simply euthanized by the staff with little or no attempt at healing and rehabilitating them. Most of the staff are Cook County political patronage employees and not animal care professionals.

Trailside provides a more extensive list of rehabilitators if those in the following list are not available when you find a sick, orphaned, or injured crow, sparrow, pigeon, possum, chipmunk, rabbit, turtle, squirrel, raccoon, or other of our furry and feathered friends.

These people are always in need of large and small cages to house their animals. Instead of throwing away your cages, think of donating them.
