Introduction
The Dam was one of the most recent levels created during the stages of development for GoldenEye. However, the Dam had basically the same visual qualities from the Beta Version as to what we know of GoldenEye today. The Beta Version for the Dam had consisted of many extra objectives which had you to explore more of the level, all in which were taken out because of time management, or because the team believed that the Dam was too big for a starting level.

Destroy Military Truck - Information around the 'net had concluded that there was an objective that you were to complete which had you to desroy the military truck, in which drove near the beginning of your starting point in the Dam. Near the location of where the military truck stops is a building, this building contains mines to destroy the truck. By planting the mines near or on the truck sets off a detination for around 5 - 10 seconds. From which, you eliminate the truck.

Obtain Boat Key - In the building where you obtained the mines to destroy the military truck is a brown suited guard, who which you would communicate with to obtain a boat key to get to the island across the Dam. The below image shows Bond communicating with the guard, however, the phrase "of course" doesn't give any speculations as to what they are talking about.




Island Across the Dam
This non-accesible section of the Dam had a purpose for an objective in which you were expected to complete. It started off where you were to get the boat key, travel from the boat to the island, and eliminate the alarm in which it had conatined. Although, during the testing stages for the Dam, many claimed it was too large for a beginning level to start on. Resulting, the team had disclosed any form of traveling to this island. However, as many may know, this can now be accessible thanks to the Gamesharks No-Clipping code. To operate this code, you must be within range or in sight of the island, then press the L & R buttons. This will cause you to be able to walk through objects and the level (no-clipping), which by walking across the water you can be able to observe the island. However, you are not actually walking on the island, you are instead floating, so you will not be able to walk up or down to see a higher or lower location of this island.

This island was quite a large distance from the Dam itself, making the only means of transportation a boat. This boat had a green outtercoating, which inside had a simuler look as of the boat in the frigate which you start in, except a poorer design. The boat had also contained a large, red russain star on the front of it. This boat was operated only with the key in which you would obtain from the brown suited guard. From then, you would be able to transport to the island/watch tower from across the Dam. The meaning or purpose of this island was it contained an alarm which you would need to destoy to complete the "Nuetralize All Alarms" objective. This island was also rumored to have a weapon of some sort that you would obtain.

This code replaces the truck
in the beginning of the Dam
with the Green Beta Boat that
would transport you from the
docks to the island.

The island also contained a large drone gun, this was which mounted on the left side of the watch tower. There is no exact information as to what the purpose of this drone gun had. However, the obvious indication as to what it was were to elimate or destroy anything that comes within range of the island.


Ending Sequence
During early development, the team had planned that you were able to jump off of the Dam, use the watch laser or simular device and open the metal grate at the bottem platform. It is possible to gain access to this part by using the level override code (at the bottem of the Dam), and is possible to even get inside the vent, in which leads to a dead end. Basically, attempt to walk half way up the Dam while at the bottem, then use the No-Clipping code provided above. By walking in a certain direction you will fall backward farther than expected. From this you can walk right inside the platform at the bottem, and even see inside the vents. However, walking too far back will cause you to fall right off the level into what I like to call "doom", where is a space you can walk below the level witch is on-going, or never ends.

When you jump off the platform of the Dam you would end up on another platform leading to the facility. After you have opened access to the facility by using the watch laser on the metal grade, it will go into the ending sequence. This will show bond jump into the vent simular as to the first Surface ending sequence. The reason this was taken out of the final verson was because of too much complexity of the level, and because they were not getting the bungee cord to work properly for the end jump.
