Disclaimer: Pokemon and co. doesn't belong to me . . . . blah blah blah . . . Author's Notes: Well, what can I say? There isn't much to tell. At first I wrote Guardian Angel as a one shot, but after a few days of thinking about it I decided to take the next step and write this as a series. Oh yeah, this chapter has some violence in it. For those of you with weak stomachs I suggest you skip this one. My fic Forever is currently on hold, suggestions for that one would be Greatly appreciated! Enjoy! Ketchum: The Journey Continues The Pokemon Pied Piper! Chapter 29 ~~~~~~Inferno's POV~~~~~~ I was wrestling with Graveller. We had to keep our strength up for when Satoshi came to pick us up. These two weeks had been so boring. No battles, no joking with Satoshi. The best I could do to keep my edge was wrestle. Graveller didn't mind, she wanted to evolve into Golem someday and she needed to be strong to do it. Gyarados was resting in the lake, Banshee had admitted to me that he missed Satoshi making our food. I had to admit, Oak may have had the recipe. But the food was bland. I pinned Graveller and laid down on a sun warmed rock. The food was missing the most important ingredient, we all knew what it was. Satoshi's love. That's what makes our food so good. I'm glad Charizard honoured my request to keep an eye on Satoshi. Sometimes, to stop the boredom I'd read to the others. Oak had been impressed when he first heard me. It took a lot to phase the Professor, so you can imagine the pride I felt when I saw the shock on his face. *I miss Satoshi.* Clefairy pouted as she joined me. She'd said that everyday. I looked at the clock, only one more hour until we were with him again and training. ~~~~~~Musashi's POV~~~~~~ I had enrolled in Pallet's school with mom and dad's permission. And I saw what my poor Satoshi had to go through. Without his pokemon to cheer him up, he was becoming insecure again. It made me want to mallet those tenth graders. They were the ones that got Satoshi's licence suspended and his pokemon taken away. It was a good thing the leader's licence was suspended for six months, we'd be long gone by then. I was worried about his two lackey's though, they were planning something. I'd made Meowth go home, so he was with mom and dad. That's if the Spearows haven't caught up with him. The bell finally rang, Satoshi was out before anyone else. I followed him as he ducked through the side streets. "Where are you going squirt?" One of them smiled menacingly as he picked up Satoshi by his collar and threw him against the wall. I ran to help him but one of the gang members held me back. "Any last requests you nobody?" "Some water?" He wasn't! I looked at his face. He was! "Hmmm . . . denied." I could only watch helplessly as they began to pummel him. I winced when I heard a snapping sound. "CHARIZARD CHAR!!!" (HONOURLESS BRATS!!!) A thick red tail connected and sent the guy beating Satoshi into a wall. The guy holding me screamed and ran. The third punk wet his pants and fainted in fright. I rushed to Satoshi, he was cradling his arm and sporting several painful looking bruises. Including a black eye. But he wasn't crying. Charizard picked him up and flew off in the direction of Professor Oaks. I followed her at a run. ~~~~~~Inferno's POV~~~~~~ There she was. I was expecting her to visit as she often did after making sure Satoshi got home safely. However, all thoughts of Satoshi being at home now vanished when I saw who she was carrying. Professor Oak was already on his way to our position with Musashi hot on his heels. "That is it! Those three little brutes are going back to Juvenile hall for a very long time if I have anything to say about it!" Misty fumed as she paced back and forth in the police station lobby. *Juvenile hall?* *Basically a jail for kids who aren't legally adults.* Charizard murmured. I raised an eyebrow, jail for kids? Correction, jail for dishonourable punk kids. *You know, I'm tempted to reveal the location of the Rocket hide out.* *Why hesitate then?* *The ones who blab are the ones that get sent home in small boxes.* She told me with a level gaze. *Ouch, I see.* Misty continued throwing a fit as Officer Jenny filed the report. She must've been a real terror when she was younger. I almost felt sorry for Satoshi's dad. *How did you know Satoshi was in trouble if you were as high as you said you were?* I asked, she shifted uncomfortably. *It's ludicrous, you wouldn't believe me.* She finally said. Now it was my turn to gaze at her levelly. *Let me guess, you felt a presence tugging you to him. Right?* She looked at me slack jawed. *How . . .?* I grinned. *Been there, done that.* *Spit it out then, what was it?* *Satoshi's father. His Guardian Angel. I'll explain later.* *You'd better!* ~~~~~~Satoshi's POV~~~~~~ Ow, pain. That was the first thing I woke up to from drug induced sleep. The second thing was the worried faces of mom, Musashi, Taiki and the snouts of two Charizards. "Hey everyone, how long was I out?" "A few hours, almost a whole day. How do you feel man?" "You get pummeled and tell me." I grinned wryly to my best friend besides Inferno. "Well, it seems Pallet's Pokemon Piper has finally woke up! Hmmm . . ." The nurse checked my stats. "Well, you won't be charming any pokemon for at least three weeks. I'll check on you later." She smiled at me and left. "Pokemon Piper?" (Say what?) Inferno and Charizard asked, peering at me along with Musashi. "You mean he never told you?" Taiki laughed and waved to mom to explain it. I blushed at the title. "Ever since Satoshi started playing the clarinet he's had a natural talent for it. One day he decided to make up his own tune. When he was done there was a whole flock of Pidgeys surrounding the house and swaying in time to the tune." Mom chuckled. "Imagine my surprise when I looked outside! When he was nine he began experimenting with his music, in the middle of town no less! When he started playing Rattatas began to flood the streets!" The three of them looked incredulously at me, I shrugged with my good shoulder. "You heard about that nasty lightning storm that surrounded Pallet a few years ago? It was all over the news." Musashi nodded. "That was Satoshi's doing! He'd accidentally summoned a horde of Pikachu!" Taiki grinned. "And here I thought you two were on my side!" I laughed. "The town began calling him the Pokemon Pied Piper. After that old story." Mom smiled. Inferno and Musashi escorted me from the hospital, they'd wanted to see this for themselves. "There's a glade just over there." I pointed with my clarinet. As I walked to the middle of it I made sure the reed was good. I lifted the mouthpiece to my lips and relaxed. Then I began to play. ~~~~~~Musashi's POV~~~~~~ The tune was almost squeaky yet it flowed like water over ice. Inferno and I stared in disbelief as we were surrounded in Rattatas. What a talent! No wonder he doesn't play too often! "Now you believe them?" He asked as he stopped playing. The Rattatas snapped out of their trance and ran away. "Charizard . . ." (Amazing . . .) "Like I said, it's nothing. Now lets go home." He began to walk in the direction of home. I looked at Inferno, he looked concerned as he followed him. ~~~~~~Inferno's POV~~~~~~ Something was bugging him. I'd read the story of the Pied Piper of Hamlin, it was interesting to say the least. Oh Fire God, I think I know what it is. The big lightning storm Taiki mentioned, if it was nasty then it would've caused damage to the town. And it'd be just like Satoshi to blame himself. In Satoshi's room, I curled up by his bed. I was about to drift off when Misty and Charizard came in. I gave them both a questioning look. "I'm showing Charizard here around, she's decided to stay here for awhile." Oh? That was interesting. "I'll be downstairs making lunch, Satoshi should be back from Taiki's soon." She left the room. *Interesting human . . .* *Oh? You have an opinion of her you want to share?* *She's the strongest of them I've seen so far.* I nodded. Mothers were a class unto themselves. *She may have an affinity for Water types, but she would of made a powerful Marowak.* I remarked. *Speaking of which, I heard you met the Warrior of Ground. What happened?* I began to tell her the story. ~~~~~~Satoshi's POV~~~~~~ I don't believe it, it's hotter than Inferno's flames and it's three days till Chrismas! I had been hoping for some snow. I looked at my clarinet before looking out over the ocean. Maybe . . . I began to play. It was a soothing melody with strength behind it. I knew that around this time of year is when they gather just beyond Pallet's shores. There they are! The pod of Lapras came to the shore and hummed to the tune. Suddenly I changed slightly to a tune that was cold with the calmness and strength in it. They opened their mouth's and began to use Blizzard. As I played I heard the occasional joyful shout of 'It's snowing!'. I continued for about an hour before I eased off. So did the Lapras. "Thank you Lapras's we'll have a white Christmas now thanks to you." They nodded and swam away. I turned around and began walking home through about a foot of white snow. "Mom, I'm home!" "You're just in time for dinner sweety!" "Satoshi! It's snowing! Did you see?!" "I just came home in it Musashi! Of course I did." I grinned to her as I sat down beside Inferno. Mom took one look at me and gave me that 'I know you had something to do with it' look. "I'm afraid to ask how you pulled this one off Satoshi." I gave her a sheepish look. "Satoshi?" Musashi gave me a puzzled look. So did Inferno and Charizard. "I . . . kinda asked the Lapras off the shore to use Blizzard." Mom sighed. (I have an announcement.) We all looked at Charizard. Phew, saved by the announcement! (I have decided a name for myself.) We all raised our eyebrows at this. (My name will be . . . Embrana.)
