Disclaimer: Pokemon and co. doesn't belong to me . . . . blah blah blah . . . Authors Notes: Here I am again and all ready for season 2 of this fic for the few of you that'll probably come banging on my door to demand I finish this already. As usual, Feedback would be greatly appreciated! And so would suggestions for the final chapter of my fic Forever. I kinda got writers block on that one. A fair warning though, this chapter is written in the middle of the night and induced by 2 litres of Diet Coke. Ketchum: The Journey Continues Season 2 Guardian Angel 2 Prologue Well, I must admit. Satoshi's doing a lot better than I ever did. Of course the three bullies have challenged him to pokemon battles so many times over the past year that they're not a challenge to Satoshi's pokemon anymore. Can't forget Team Rocket, they're still bugging him and his friends. "Ash! Wake up and do your job!" Pidgey snapped. We flew at a fast pace to catch up to my son and ward. That's always the problem when I start to think, I always forget what it is I'm supposed to be doing. Sometimes I think that's why Pidgey's with me. We followed Satoshi into the house. It was December 27th, Satoshi and Musashi were about to head out on their journey again. Taiki was staying in Pallet to study pokemon breeding. If you ask me he should be studying under Brock. Satoshi's and Musashi's relationship has bloomed into the boyfriend/girlfriend stage. It took me and Misty almost 5 years to get that far. Speaking of relationships, Inferno and Embrana had one going now. Come to think of it a few of Satoshi's and Musashi's pokemon had some going. Like their Pikachus and Raticates. But the most interesting one was the secret relationship between Satoshi's Fearow and Musashi's Pidgeot. Can't wait to see what their chicks will look like. Right this moment Fearow is warming her eggs in the attic, they should hatch soon. Then things will get interesting. At Christmas we Angels were allowed to show that we're there. Some choose dream sequences. Last year I chose to make the star atop the tree shine brighter. This year I hung the ornament I always used to choose on the tree in full view of everyone. Next year? Who knows? Sometimes at night I'd fly around and check on all my old friends. Most of them are married now though. Brock, surprisingly enough wasn't married yet. He never got over that habit of glomping on every beautiful woman he sees. A.J. was married to Giselle, such a perfect match those two. Gary never married, he's to absorbed in his studies to. However he does have his eye on his new assistant. There's hope for him yet. Snap was still single. Not surprising. He travels all over the world to take pictures of pokemon, I don't think he'll ever settle down. Tracy however, was married to an artist. Not just any artist, an Abstract artist. You know Erika married. She's made her husband very happy. Sabrina preferred to stay single, no surprise. But the Big Guy has some one in mind for her, Brock. I can't wait to see that. I'll bet even she doesn't know it. Misty's sisters never married, and I don't think they ever will. Surge of Vermillion wouldn't marry any woman the army didn't assign him. That guy needs to relax! Richie was the current Pokemon Master and didn't really have time for a relationship. Pikachu had told me about Inferno's encounter with Santa Claus last year. I was chuckling about that for three days! Just trying to imagine the look on his face still sends me into a fit of laughing! Have you ever wondered why my dad didn't live long enough to see me born? Or that the same thing happened to me? Well, I'll tell you. Apparently a looong time ago one of my ancestors got a wizard or something like that mad at them. He cursed my family name that the fathers will never live long enough to see their first born if it's a son. However the chain can be broken if a girl is born. Everyday I prayed that if Satoshi ever married that his first born would be a girl. Ah . . . where am I now? Oh yeah, Lavender. Sometimes I stop by here to play with Gengar and Ghastly for while. When Satoshi was here I was the one they kept appearing for, boy those two pokemon love to party, and/or crash one already in progress. "Ash, heads up. Message from the Big Guy's coming in." Ah, the Big Guy, you'll love him when you meet him. I frown when I read it, a rare thing for me to frown. Pidgey knows that when I do it's serious. "What does it say?" She asked worriedly. "Get Pikachu. There's a meeting at dusk, big trouble's brewing." Meetings were even more rare then a frown. When the sun set, Pidgey, Pikachu and I all went to the big office upstairs. "How bad is it Ash?" Pikachu asked from her perch on my head. "Real bad, there might be a repeat of the Mewtwo incident." She shivered. I didn't blame her. We both remembered Mewtwo. Once you get up here such erased memories are restored. I gave her a reassuring pat as we sat down. Even Likitung looked worried. Even my dad was here. The Arch Angel, the Big Guy's spokes-person called for our attention. "Attention everyone! This is serious! Team Rocket has created a new genetically enhanced pokemon." "Who's Charges will it affect?" Likitung shouted over all the mutters. "When will it arrive?!" Another shouted. "Please everyone! Calm down!" She sighed. "The forces of Chaos are strong in this situation, there's no way to tell. Even our Lord can't tell." "Oh this is bad . . ." Pikachu muttered while shaking her head. "What does He know?!" I asked. "Very little information is available. The only things that are clear is that whatever it is, will be twice as powerful as Mewtwo and Mew put together!" There was a collective gasp around the table. "And it will be totally obedient to Team Rocket's leader." All was silent. Oh yeah, this is very bad. "However! There is a chance it won't survive the process! You are all advised to keep a very close eye on your Charges and pray that it won't emerge! This meeting is adjourned." I shook my head as we departed, this was way beyond bad news. If only there was some way I could help directly without breaking every rule in the book. "Ash, you've got to calm down. Inferno's getting attuned to you! If he senses how upset you are . . ." Pikachu trailed off. I took a deep breath and stopped pacing. I had thought that with Giovanni in jail Team Rocket would break apart. Oh how wrong I was. "You're right Pikachu . . ." I sighed and sat in Satoshi's chair. She was right, Inferno was getting attuned to my moods. "Everything will be alright Pikapi, you'll see." She patted my hand reassuringly. I smiled. "The eggs are hatching!" Pidgey chirped excitedly. We rushed to the attic, Fearow was watching her nest anxiously. Pidgeot soon joined her. What emerged from the eggs looked like a Pidgey with a Spearow's colouring, wings, eyes and beak. We watched as Fearow began to feed them some of her kibble, half digested of course. Yuk. "It's almost dawn, we should get back to our Charges." Pidgey sighed as we went through the floor to Satoshi's room. Three weeks have passed since Fearow's eggs hatched. As a new pokemon, one chick went to Gary to study. Two went to Brock and Taiki. Satoshi and Musashi each kept one. The last chick went to Misty. They had just learned to fly. Pikachu, Pidgey, Likitung and I were walking with our Charges to Pallet's shore where Satoshi and Musashi would ride Gyarados to Cinnabar. We joined them. So resumes their journey.
