Disclaimer: Pokemon and co. doesn't belong to me . . . . blah blah blah . . . Authors Notes: In the last chapter I forgot to give credit where it's due. I'd like to thank Jennifer for suggesting the names Magmata and Flamestryk. Thanks again! Here I am again and all ready for season 2 of this fic for the few of you that'll probably come banging on my door to demand I finish this already. As usual, Feedback would be greatly appreciated! And so would suggestions for the final chapter of my fic Forever. I kinda got writers block on that one. Ketchum: The Journey Continues Season 2 Time Off And Travels Chapter 30 ~~~~~~Charmeleon's POV~~~~~~ I felt guilty for getting Satoshi into so much trouble, but what really irked him was that Musashi got several days off for being so far ahead in her class. Truth be told it irked me as well, how could she be so smart and have such moronic parents? Someone appeared in the room. *You took your sweet time getting here.* I muttered. *At least you didn't leave Satoshi a headache the last time you were here. Or were the headaches caused by you poking around?* <*My psychic probes were the cause. I needed to learn about Satoshi.*> I levelled my gaze at him. *Hope you learned what you needed too because if you come in here again after this I'll sic Raptor on you.* Mewtwo 'almost' smiled. <*I have no doubt you will.*> his face went serious again. <*Have you made your decision?*> This was the question I had the answer to but was reluctant to. *I'll do it. When and where?* Silence hung heavy in the room as Mewtwo relayed the information I needed to know telepathically. That done, he left. Knowing he was no longer wanted. He was right, I didn't want to see him. But he left a message. <*Thank you.*> I snorted and left the room, intending to hunt down Satoshi in his subconscious and tell him what I could. The dream I walked into wasn't pleasant, so it was probably better I intervene before he woke up screaming. A brief Flamethrower dispelled the dream and Satoshi turned to me. *Can we talk? It's urgent.* He nodded and we walked back to the room. It's taken awhile, but Satoshi's starting to be convinced that we have to leave for the meeting spot today. *Please Satoshi, you have to attend this battle with Musashi.* "Are you sure it's that urgent? You're not exaggerating?" *I'm sure, and I'm not exaggerating.* He sighed. "Alright." ~~~~~~Musashi's POV~~~~~~ I couldn't believe I was hearing this. Sweet Satoshi wanted to deliberately disobey his mother to go travel to a spot just because Charmeleon said it was urgent? <"It must be very urgent if Charmeleon is risking Misty's wrath my friend."> "C'mon Musashi, I need you. Besides, do you honestly think I could remain cooped up here for two weeks?" Well, three against one is hardly fair odds . . . "Sure. Where is this place again?" "About half a mile east of Old Port, by a lake. If we hop on our pokemon after we drop off Doka-chan we should make it by nightfall." I groaned. <"Because neither you or I wish to see Satoshi with cabin fever."> Inwardly I nodded. Satoshi's mother left him and Charmeleon strict instructions to drop off Nodoka and return home immediately before she left. Once she did Satoshi and I began packing. <"So do I but perhaps this bad feeling is why it's so urgent."> <"It's a good thing she didn't confiscate Satoshi's pokemon."> I closed my pack and knocked on Satoshi's door. "You ready to go?" "Yeah, just let me grab my pokemon." Together we walked out the back door and looked around before I called out Pidgeot and Satoshi called out Bob. Inferno was already in his pokeball and we had both decided to leave Bastet and Meowth here with Embrana, Magmata and Flamestryk. As one our bird pokemon launched themselves headwind into the air going north-east. Occasionally we stopped to check the map and snack before continuing on. ~~~~~~Misty's POV~~~~~~ A shiver ran down my spine and I was suddenly compelled to call home and check on the children. I decided against it though, they wouldn't get in trouble. So why did I feel like this was the calm before a storm? "Is something wrong Misty?" "I'm okay, just a strange feeling Joy." "You too? Maybe it has something to do with those rumours circling around." I nodded. "Maybe. But I have the strangest feeling I should know the name 'Mewtwo'." Nurse Joy and I looked at each other. "Nah!" After telling Joy that I was going on my break I pull my wallet from my purse and look at the tiny picture of my son. It's hard to believe he's almost 14 has that much time really passed? I miss my little boy. My little boy who would track mud through the house, wrestle with Charizard, come crying into my lap whenever Sean really hurt him. Sean was always picking on him, and Pikachu was alway shocking him whenever she got the chance. Can't blame her though. Blinking at the tiny cat-like creature with large blue eyes that just appeared in front of me it cooed as it . . . no he touched a tiny paw to my forehead. <(Time to remember.)> It started as a small trickle before it erupted into a flood of memories. I opened my eyes and he was gone. "All these years . . . why would he have my memories restored 'now' of all times?" There had to be a connection but what was it? <(You are needed.)> Mew's voice came again and my mind was given information that took me a good ten minutes to sort out. Grabbing my coat I ran home. I remember saying 'family emergency' as I passed Joy. "Satoshi!! Musashi!!" Shaking I looked at the note in my hands. Dear Mom: Something important came up, Musashi and I will be back soon. Love Satoshi "No . . ." Panicking I grabbed my old pack and loaded it up with supplies as I called the Daycare to tell them Embrana would be picking up Nodoka. Once I hung up I punched Brock's number into my cell phone. "Hello?" I began barking orders at him, I've found I'm very good at that. "Brock! Pack your bags and get in gear! The children are at the place where we first got the invite to Mewtwo's island! MOVE IT!" Hanging up without giving him a chance to say a word I dialled up Jessie and James. "Jessie! Get James and pack your bags! We're going on a road trip to save the kids! I'll come pick you up and if you're not ready and waiting when I get there then you're staying behind!" Dashing down the stairs I was met by Embrana's bewildered face. "Embrana, pick up Nodoka and look after her until the kids and I get back!" Running to the garage I hopped in my blue Porshe and floored it, ignoring all known traffic laws. Jerking the wheel to the left I managed to turn without going into a spin and screeched to a stop in front of Musashi's house. I could smell the burnt rubber. There was a good chance I'd have to replace my brake pads after this. Without bothering to open the doors Jessie hopped into the passenger seat and James into the back. Sparing a precious moment to toss Jessie the map and put up the roof I squealed off, leaving a trail of tire marks and smoke in my wake. Gritting my teeth I glanced at Jessie reading the map. "How long until we get there?" "Be there by night fall if we drive non stop." Cursing under my breath I gripped the wheel tighter, Jessie seemed surprised at my, sufficed to say, unladylike language. ~~~~~~Jessie's POV~~~~~~ This is a side of Misty I've never seen. Come on, with language like that she could've been be a top agent. Even Butch and Cassidy never said anything like 'that'. I wondered what was going on in that carrot topped head of hers. I'd never call her that to her face though, especially not in her current mood. She's probably thinking the same thing we all are. If one head is harmed on out children's heads then there well be hell to pay. When Mew returned our memories and Misty had called us the two of us had totally freaked out first before gathering our wits and packing. It wasn't hard seeing Misty's car, she was the only one going 100 in a 55mph zone. But it was still a fact, whoever messed with our kids was in for double double trouble once we met up with Brock. ~~~~~~Pidgeot's POV~~~~~~ I glanced worriedly at my son. He glanced back. The tenseness of our trainers was strange, it simply wasn't like them. And it definitely wasn't normal for them to be this silent during a flight, the situation had to be serious. "Pidgeot, land here. Satoshi and I have to check the map." Giving a squawk of acknowledgment I descended, my son Bob followed me. We watched over our trainers shoulders as they planned the quickest route to the lake. "Okay, we're here and Old Port is here. This is the lake Charmeleon told you about?" He was silent for a moment, talking to Charmeleon. "Yeah, that's it. He says the faster we're there the better." "But if this battle is that important we can't risk tiring out Pidgeot and Bob." "You think I don't know that?" Satoshi sighed. They began to argue about what to do until it seemed they reached a decision. "Okay so that's the plan. We're already about halfway there so you ride Tananda and I'll ride Paradox. They'll take us the rest of the way." Musashi nodded. "With fresh pokemon we should make it ahead of schedule." In agreement, Satoshi withdrew our pokeballs and directed them toward us. "You two deserve a rest, return." As one they nodded and recalled us before sending out Tananda and Paradox.
