Disclaimer: Pokemon and co. doesn't belong to me . . . . blah blah blah . . . Authors Notes: Here I am again and all ready for season 2 of this fic for the few of you that'll probably come banging on my door to demand I finish this already. As usual, Feedback would be greatly appreciated! And so would suggestions for the final chapter of my fic Forever. I kinda got writers block on that one. Oh yeah, since Musashi, Satoshi and Inferno are all out like a light after a wild night (read previous chapter) it'll be varied POV's. Ketchum: The Journey Continues Season 2 Pokemon's Day Out! Chapter 17 ~~~~~~Candy's POV~~~~~~ Paradox and I looked at each other after Satoshi and Raptor had fallen asleep the moment their heads hit the pillow. Inferno was snoring away at the foot of the bed. Musashi, Meowth and Julie were out like a light too. The party last night must've been a doozy. I couldn't wait! Of course the tickets were for the last show of the day, so that left the 12 of us with the whole day to do what ever we wanted! Sometimes Satoshi's trust in our behaviour when no one's with us still astounds me. Of course I wasn't about to break that trust ever! I pulled the blankets on the three trainers and three pokemon before leaving the room. It wouldn't do for them to catch a cold while we were gone. My life in the Safari Zone had been pretty routine before Satoshi caught me. Wake up, find food, run from the occasional predator, play for awhile then go to sleep. But when I was caught I'd been so eager to fight. Then Satoshi . . . rather Charmeleon had knocked some sense into me. To tell the truth I didn't quite understand how two spirits could live in one body. But I always shrugged it off, it didn't hurt Satoshi or Musashi so I let it be. Because we were going to wander without our trainer, or trainers when you counted Charmeleon, we had to carry our pokeballs with us. It was no problem for me, I loved the way Satoshi had decorated all of our pokeballs. He'd also given us a little spending money each so we wouldn't be totally bored. Of course he'd given all of us, especially me I admit, explicit instructions to stay away from my namesake, candy. ~~~~~~Chewy's POV~~~~~~ I toyed with the pouch around my neck containing a little money and my ticket for the show. After we'd left Satoshi snoring away we'd gone our separate ways. Lots of people stared at me as I walked down the street, surprised to see one of my kind so large. If asked how I grew so big I would've put it down to my poke-kibble while I was still Rattata and the care Satoshi regularly gave us. Of course does our dear trainer Satoshi even think our health is largely related to his recipes? Nope, not at all. That's what I love about him, he's so . . . I dunno, innocent I guess. Either that or it's just because he's . . . well, Satoshi. I've known him almost as long as Inferno, and I know he can be dense at times. But he's got such a good heart it's almost impossible to say no to him. Now, what am I gonna do? I have a little money, and lots of time. I stopped and looked around, the words on the stores didn't make any sense to me. But I could guess what they sold by looking at the window displays. I blinked and nearly drooled at the huge display of candy. But I had to shake it off and tear my eyes away from the window before I gave into the impulse to buy some. Satoshi wouldn't be pleased if I did. Besides, I'd be bouncing around for hours if I ate some. I looked at a street vendor selling balloons and shrugged. Eh, why not? I picked out a Rattata balloon and got the vendor to tie it around my wrist. It felt weird there, but it wasn't long before I got use to it. *Out of my way you over-muscled moron!* I turned at the voice, was that Zeus? I knew from experience that it took a lot to get him riled up to the point of using that tone. Yeah, it was Zeus. He was surrounded by a Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Kingler, Raichu and a Rhydon. Things really didn't look good. I was afraid he'd hurt them and get into trouble with the police and Satoshi. It seems he'd tried to defuse the situation though, but now his fur was up and I could see him straining not to Thunder Bolt them. I rushed in to help him out. ~~~~~~Shelldon's POV~~~~~~ Since I wasn't able to actually move Tochi had offered to let me tag along with her. What I mean by that is she was pulling me in a wagon. Tochi, despite her size and strength is of a good sort. She doesn't really mind fighting, but she'd much prefer to stay back and smell the flowers. I liked to fight though, just because I couldn't move well on land didn't mean I was totally helpless. I think it was Destiny that led me to Satoshi, rather, Destiny led Satoshi to me. Even now I'm still embarrassed that I clamped onto him like that when I was a Shellder. Can't really blame me though, he did sit on me. I admire Satoshi for his courage. The death of his father, actually seeing his father again, the incident with the Warrior of Normal, the haunted tower in Lavender, the curse. All these things would've set a full grown man crying. Of course the lovable Satoshi would never in a million years consider Charmeleon as a curse. *What's going on over there?* I heard Tochi mutter as she stepped to a side to let me look. My eyes widened. Zeus, Chewy, Candy, Lullaby, Pippi, Tananda and Bob were facing off against a rough pokemon gang. No one had thrown an attack yet, but I knew that for them to be this angry the gang must've totally offended them or insulted Satoshi. *Tochi, lets go see if we can break it up.* She nodded and carried me to the others. ~~~~~~Paradox's POV~~~~~~ I tell you I don't think I've ever been so frightened. One thing that will always remain etched in my mind is the fear that gripped my heart when Satoshi got so sick. I evolved so I could make sure he'd get to the hospital safely. Or to his mother, both provide great care. It turned out great though. It was rather nice to just walk along by myself without people giving me weird looks. I liked it here on Indigo Island, but I preferred Pallet there were too many tall buildings here for safe manoeuvring. *Paradooooox! Come quick!* I turned and saw Flutter flying toward me at high speeds. *What? What's the emergency?* *Zeus, Chewy, Tananda, Bob, Tochi, Shelldon, Pippi and Lullaby are up against a Pokemon street gang!* Ok, that's an emergency. The pokemon gangs are rough, they're mainly pokemon whose trainers have abandoned them. Although in some cases the gang of pokemon abandons the trainer. Taking Flutter gently in my talons and being careful not to hurt her I took flight. We had to get there before a fight started. It was easy to spot them, this was the only street that was totally empty of humans who had run out of the way of the impending battle. As I landed I heard the conversation and what had started the face off in the first place. * . . . is nothing but a weak and cowardly human!* A Scyther shouted. *Take it back Bug!* Bob shouted. Good, no attacks had been used yet. That meant the situation still had a chance of being defused. But I was surprised to see Tochi there, she usually avoids trainerless fights. I looked at the sky, there was a news helicopter. I groaned inwardly, did the whole world have to see this? I hopped to the middle and spread my wings to keep the groups apart. *There isn't any need to fight! Stand down, all of you!* I squawked loudly over the din of traded insults. *Go back to your weak trainer bird! This is a fight for real pokemon!* Raichu yelled. I stiffened and snapped at him, Raichu powered up. *Chickens can't fly Raichu! Go back clucking to your hen house!* A Ghastly taunted before making clucking noises. They all laughed. I bristled but stayed where I was. *Hey! If that's the chicken, then what's his trainer?* Rhydon grunted. *His momma!* Laughed Hitmonlee. That was it! I'd take no more of this! ~~~~~~B.B.'s POV~~~~~~ I was minding my own business when I accidentally bumped into someone. *I'm sorry.* *Not a problem.* The Arcanine waved it off and we continued down the street. *You have a name?* She asked. *B.B. You?* *Amber. You getting something for your trainer?* I shrugged the best I could. *A good idea, but no. I'm just wandering around until the Poke-Nomads show.* She looked startled. *By yourself?! By the Fire God you're lucky.* I looked at her. *You look like you're by yourself.* *Only for two hours. I got lucky today.* She sighed as we entered a park. *Doesn't your trainer trust you?* I wondered. *Not as much as I'd like, but his Charizard is absolutely intolerable!* She exclaimed, exasperated. Blinking I paused. *Really? Inferno's not that bad . . . he does take a little getting used to. But aren't Charizards naturally competitive? Especially to other Fire types?* *You don't understand! He's a bully! He's been even worse since that other Charizard took him out so easily and made Sean lose the match!* I stopped. *Sean? Brown hair, brown eyes, from Pallet and kind of a bully himself?* I asked cautiously. *Well, yeah. You know him?* *Know him?! He broke my trainer's arm last year!* I screeched. She winced. *That was your trainer? I'm sorry, but I was stuck at Professor Oaks at the time.* I relaxed. *I know, so was I. I guess the one to blame is your trainer.* She sighed. We were silent for a few moments before resuming our little chat. Amber's actually quite nice to talk to, although we must've made quite the sight. A Fire type and a Plant type talking with each other. Together we both looked to the east when we heard a chilling roar. *Think we should check it out?* I asked. *I'm not sure, it sounded like a fight. We shouldn't get involved.* *If you wish.* I said as I hopped away. I could hear her behind me. *I thought you didn't want to get involved.* *If it's a street fight, then no. But if it's a bully picking on someone, then yes. I dislike bullies.* ~~~~~~Charmeleon's POV~~~~~~ I yawned and stretched, what a nice rest! Satoshi was still sleeping, I chuckled. Maybe next time he won't stay up all night. But I can't deny that I didn't have fun myself. Oh, but it had been so long since I attended one of their shows. Shakily I stood up, Satoshi's long legs wobbling. I resisted the urge to just use the glass of water. It was high time I learned how to use Satoshi's body. As I wobbled into the living room I noticed the television had been left on, so I sat in the comfortable chair and managed to figure out how to turn up the volume. "This is your eye in the sky Jimmy Vordon with continued coverage of the face off between two groups of pokemon. One group belongs to a trainer and the other is the well known pokemon street gang. Police are staying back and blocking all entrances to the street where the duel is taking place. It's been decided by the police that they and Pokemon Control will not interfere until an attack is used!" This looked interesting. I watched as the . . . camera? got a good bird's eye view of the trainer's pokemon. I fell of the chair in surprise. Those were Satoshi's pokemon! I didn't see Makaar there though, that meant he was still wandering. Looking at the bedroom door I debated if I should wake them up or wake Satoshi up. Shrugging I decided I could handle this. It's a good thing Satoshi fell asleep in his clothes, I didn't think I was up to that yet. I grabbed his Pokedex and stormed out the door, intending to give Satoshi's pokemon a piece of my mind. Maybe I'd give the ronin pokemon a piece too. It had taken me about five minutes to gain enough balance to actually run, I admired the way long legs just ate up the ground. I followed a helicopter to the street and managed to slip by all the police. Barely. Shaking my head I observed the scene, it had degenerated down to growling now. "Stop it! All of you!" I ordered. Satoshi's pokemon took on a look of panic and seemed to shrink. It felt strange using a different voice. *Satoshi it wasn't our fault, they . . .* "Silence!" I roared to B.B. He cringed at the tone in 'my' voice. Once they were sufficiently cowed I turned to the gang. "All of you, be off! Before I let them attack!" I ordered, in a full human version of Rage. They took one look at my eyes and high tailed it. I whirled on the others. They cringed and took a step back. *Charmeleon?* Tochi asked. I nodded. Then I began pacing in front of them, they lined up like soldiers. "What in the name of the Fire God did you think you were doing?! Satoshi placed his trust in all of you and this is how you thank him? Nearly getting into an uncontrollable fight?!" I roared. The eleven of them whimpered. I ranted on like that for another fifteen minutes and basically told them that if they pulled another stunt like this again I'd tell Satoshi and let him punish them. Pippi asked if they could still watch the show. I had my doubts but I agreed. The tickets couldn't be taken back and that would be a waste of Satoshi's money. I got Bob to give me a lift back to the house. There I hoped I could relax. <"Nice job Charmeleon."> I stiffened, he was awake?! <"All of it."> I sighed, I had some major explaining to do.
