***Pulling at My Heart -Lyrics- -*- Break down Break back Half-stack Shake the ground Feel the sound 6 days to create we've sealed our fate Take my strife Breath my life I cut through my Heart like a knife You're not that hard to comprehend I cant understand these men -----I feel it------ ...I feel it pulling at my heart then again I stand at the front gate By your side is where I wait You command And I still stand In the power of your arms Dead to sin With you I'll win You're in my soul And under my skin Set me up so I wont fall Give me strength Break down this wall -----I feel it------ ...I feel it pulling at my heart Still willing And they're killing me Maybe then someone would see A life not lost Christ paid the cost And caried the cross But now I'm here And there I'll be Until I break these chains And fly free Will he be me? At least I'll try Cause he's in me As for me I'll die -----I feel it------ ...I feel it pulling at my heart -*- "Pulling at My Heart" is a very long and complicated song...not as much complicated as there are many ideas crammed into one song. "6 days to create" refers to God's creation of the earth in 6 days (he rested on the 7th). The next line, "We've sealed our fate" describes Adam and Eve's choice to deceive God, and eat the fruit from the forbidden tree--ensuring man's fate. Jesus died on the cross for our sins; so we may be forgiven for our sins. We are to give our pain and suffering to him, and repent of our sins, and we will be forgiven. Rev. 21:4 "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." "I cut through my/Heart like a knife" speaks of the pain I cause myself through sin. Rom. 6:1-4 "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." The last verse is perhaps the most hard to understand. What it is saying is that I am here NOW, and I am going to be here, until I die and go to heaven. And while I am here, through him, I'm going to try to be as Christ like as I possibly can. Although he is the one and only living God, and I am his servant who will die a mortal death to live eternally with him.
