Rare Chao!

I am a bit of a chao nut so it seemed logical for me to make this! The basic goal is to provide a quick refrence about the rare sorts of Chao in Sonic Adventure 2:Battle. This list includes some breeding chao, black market chao and a whole bunch of neat promotional chao. Whenever possible I will list how to obtain the chao. Anyways here is the Table of Contents.
This is a list for only Sonic Adventure 2 BATTLE Chao

Immortal Chao!

You've probably heard of these chao. They require a chao to love you enough to reincarnate, not once but TWICE!. However once you get them, these chao can not die! Any chao that can reincarnate can become an immortal chao so you don't have to worry about that :) Here are the steps to getting one.

Immortal Chao Instructions!

  1. Have a Chao reincarnate twice. This would be its third infancy.
  2. Feed it one and only one of every animal, make no exceptions (Pheonix, Dragon and all those animals do count). However be advised you are NOT to feed any Chaos Drives
  3. Make the afflictions that which you desire.
    Neutral = Light Chao
    Dark = Devil Chao
    Hero = Angel Chao
  4. Keep it generally happy, feed it food (no more animals tough) and so on because if it is feeling sad/abused it won't become an immortal chao
  5. Three hours after birth it should cocoon up and become a nice immortal chao of the affliction it had in the end.

Tiny Chao Garden Chao!

Inside of the tiny chao garden you recieve the option of buying chao eggs! These eggs almost resemble a jewel. Here is list of what you can find and for how much. Certain percantages are a bit off, but not by more than a quarter of one percent.

As you can see there are a lot of different chaos you can find. Not all chao cost the same and some are rarer than others. Topaz for example, is the rarest at .125% of the time. The other colors you can find at least 2% of the time

Black Market Eggs

If you've been to the Black Market you probably saw the Eggs that they sell for you. These eggs come in 2 varieties.i Shiny and Non-Shiny. Non-Shiny are more common and if you breed (see Breeding Section you can make from Shiny Chao a whole lot! Anyways, here is a list of the Black Market Chao. Some of these chao need you to have more emblems then others.

If there shiny add an extra 0 to the end of the ring cost.

All S Chao

Have you ever been to the Chao Doctor with a chao and noticed how they have a letter (A,B,C,D,E or S) next to there stat. This is there "rank". The higher the "rank" the more the chao gains in the stat whenever he grows a level. Chao that you recieve from the game and are first generation (not children of 2 of your chao) have random rankings, which are almost never an S rank. However when a chao metamorphisis they gain 1 rank (From E-D, D-C and so on). This is determined by what they were fed earlier.
Red Animals/Chaos Drives = Power
Green = Run
Purple = Flying
Yellow = Swim
No/Mix Animals/Chaos Drives = Stamina
Other Colors = Semi-Random (if any stat (not stamina) is really high its that one otherwise its Stamina)

Breeding!

When a chao is surrounded by an array of flowers that means it wants to breed. To breed find another chao (not a child) and place it in the flower patch. Unless the two chao dislike each other they will breed. A lone egg will be formed. This egg is a mix of the parents attributes. The egg has the following

The Tails Chao from PSO

Did you know that in Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 and 2 you can get a Tails Chao? Here is how!

  1. Have a Gamecube ready with an empty GBA linked to port 4 (must be 4)
  2. Play PSO, Episode 1, any difficulty
  3. Open up the quest "A Fake in Yellow". If you haven't opened yet beat the initial 3 quests (Battle Training, Magnitude of Metal and Greedy Landlord), if you beat already you must beat all the other quests to be able to replay it.
  4. Complete the quest up until the part in which a telepipe appears.
  5. Go through the telepipe
  6. Return to Forest 1. By the telepipe you should see 3 Rag Rappies. TALK to all of them.
  7. Go to the point at which they are facing, all the way to the wall.
  8. Watch this little cinema
  9. Use the telepipe to get up to Pioneer 2.
  10. Right outside the Hunters Guild there is now a GBA!
  11. Turn on your real GBA (hooked up to the Gamecube)
  12. Select the GBA and upload "Tiny Chao Garden"
  13. Talk to the person who assigned the quest in PSO
  14. Recieve your Meseta
  15. After you have loaded out of the quest, quit and save
  16. Turn off the power on the Gamecube (not the GBA)
  17. Switch out a Sonic Adventure 2 Battle disc
  18. Go to any Chao Garden, any character
  19. Pick up the Tails Chao
  20. Leave Chao World to save this

The Tails is neat for seceral reasons, its stats are all level 1 and at 250 pts. each! In addition all of its ranks are A (which isn't shabby) and it looks cool

Promotional Chao!

To date at japanese conventions Sonic Team has distributed some neat looking promotional chao. They are a Knuckles Chao, an Amy Chao, A strange Shadow and a strange Sonic chao. I have pictures of all of them.

That Chao that will never be...

Some chao can exsist but don't. It would be possible for you to have a chao that is an animal or looks like Omochao but so far these haven't been made. They might become possible one day but it doesn't seem like it will happen.
