The Old Neighborhood!


The majestic Hotel Mahackemo, which no longer exists.
Looking from the southwestern side of Washington St.
North Main St. is on the right. The railroad tracks in front were ground level.
The left side is now the 50 Washington St. building.
The right corner is now the Avrick store. (Historic photo, 1909)


South Norwalk was called "Old Well" in it's early days. This is the Old Well Hook & Ladder Co.
It was located at 9 Haviland St., which is now property used for a municipal parking lot.
