D raised an elegant brow as his mismatched eyes lingered on the somewhat tense figure across him.
"Is there anything wrong, Detective?"
The kami could feel it. There was something really wrong with the detective.
The way he knew Leon, the young blonde was always full of life and was very inquisitive. 
But it seemed the opposite now.
The blonde was drinking the tea hot and did not wait for the Count to tell him to drink it. 
That was somewhat... strange.
"Oh, it's nothing..."
Leon sighed sadly as he placed the now emptied teacup and saucer on the low tea table.
He took a coat over his shoulder and turned to leave.
"I'll go ahead now..."
"No," snapped the Count. "You are not leaving until I say so."
"What the fuck do you think you're doing, D?! WHO ARE YOU IN MY LIFE TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO?!"

I know that we have been through so much pain

Those words went deep like daggers as the Count bit on his lip and placed the cup on the table before anymore harm could happen.
"So... Is that it, Leon? Who am I, you ask...? Honestly, who am I?! Dare you ask me? Honestly, what am I to you, then? Oh.. Why did I ask? After all, I'm JUST a suspect... Nothing more... Nothing less.. "
It was obvious that the Count was getting hurt. He sounded as if he was fighting back tears as he spoke.
"Go, if you must. Forgive me... Leon... I... I myself... Need some rest... I suppose you can..."
Leon watched D break his poise as tears flowed down.
The Count's body was shaking as he leaned on the wall.
"D...I..."
"GET OUT!"
Leon was shocked. He never expected D...
After all, he asked for it.
Leon swallowed bile down his throat as he took one last look at the sobbing Count. He wanted so much to hold the Count in his arms and whisper words of comfort.
Thought you were straight...
Shut up.
"WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?! Tell me honestly, Leon... Am I a monster to you? Do you despise me so much? Do you?"
"D..."
"ANSWER ME!"
"D... I..."
With a sniff and a quick pat on his cheeks to save the make-up, D pointed towards the exit.
"OUT. Get out of the petshop now."
Leon walked towards D but the petshop owner stared at him with cold eyes.
"If you do not leave now, I'll have no choice but to drag you out myself. I don't care if I break my nails. I want you gone, Leon Orcot."
The blonde lowered his head, "Ok. I'll leave. But..."
"Out."

But I still need you in my life this time, and

Leon was outside starting his car. 
He never felt more stupid in his whole life. 
Good job, Agent Orcot... You did it again and this time it's for good...
He never knew what a temper the Count had. 
He never realized he was already hurting the Count.
God...What did I do this time... Fuck, D...
Words simply flew from his lips without a second thought without knowing they were already painful.
He shook his head, It's not fucking true... I don't hate you, D... I'm just... shit...I'm sorry... D... I didn't mean to...
Leon leaned back to on the driver' seat as the traffic began to slow down.
He could see D crying on the couch with his hands covering his porcelain cheeks.
Guilt began to rise in him. He shouldn't have done that. He...
John Benedict had nothing to do with D...
He... He shouldn't have blown up and shower all his anger the kami.
He had forgotten how fragile the kami was when it came to personal matters.
No... D... Please... 
Looking back at the anger that welled up in the kami's eyes, Leon began to think after that, the kami would stop seeing him. 
No... Don't... I...

DON'T BREAK OUR FRIENDSHIP JUST LIKE THAT! DON'T D! PLEASE DON'T FUCKING DO IT!!! I NEED YOU!

In the meanwhile, the Count had ran up to his room in tears as he ran past his grandfather.
"Child, wait!"
But it seemed D hadn't heard him at all..."

D buried his tear soaked face on the silken pillows as he grabbed a handful of sheets.
Why? Leon...I thought...
I thought... Why?
I really thought you were...different...
I thought we were friends...
Leon, why?

Sofu D turned the doorknob and was surprised to find it open.
"Child?"
He scanned the room with a worried look under his cape and sighed in relief seeing his grandson on his bed.
But there was just one thing wrong...
He could hear sniffing and sobs.
Immediately he sat by his grandson's side and began to soothe his sobbing grandson.
"Shh... It's all right now, wo de sunzi... I'm here..."
"Grandfather..."
The young kami sat up sniffing as Sofu D took him in his arms.
"There now... I've warned you already..."
"I...I know... But, I... I can't..."
"What is it, Child?"
Sofu D loved D more than anything in the world even more than he probably loved D's father. 
Papa D was a rebel. 
It wasn't that he wanted to manipulate the younger kami but he just wanted to be heard. 
Papa D never listened and thus... 
The consequences are as you see.
Papa D's hatred for humanity drove him to the point of insanity that it tainted his soul to the extent...
It seemed the other kami was nothing more a robotic shell driven by insane hatred for humanity.
Sofu D primarily blamed himself fro not bringing up the other kami properly.
But it was useless to talk of the past. It's done and you can't do anything about it anymore.
Just live and try to make the most of yourself...
"I... I love him... So much it hurts me... I know he thinks me as a drag queen or a queer but... I truly love him, Grandfather... I don't really care if he thinks me only as a friend... It's alright with me but... I can't live without him... Not now that I've grown to love more each day... Oh, Grandfather... I don't know what to do..."

Sofu D stared at his grandson. I knew it... I knew it would one way or another lead to this...
"Chi---"
"Please, Grandfather... I am not yet finished."
Before D could say anything, Sofu D left him for a while and took a box of cotton and water as he began to wash D's make-up soaked face.
The make-up on his grandson's face was everywhere even his cloak.
"There. You look clean now..."
"Grandfather..."
"Shh, xiao yi..."
Sofu D began to cup the younger kami's face as tears flowed down his cheeks as well.
"I just don't want to see cry..." 
"I..."
"Go on... I'll listen," sniffed Sofu D.
"I know... You dislike him so.. But I can't help it... I love him truly... And even if he doesn't say it, I can feel it that in one way or another he must surely feel something for me... Yet... He denies them at some point. I can see it in his eyes... I know he' s a human and one day he'll die but... 
I just want to be next to him... All the time... I..."
D sniffed as he buried his face on his grandfather's arms.
"I don't want to be alone anymore... Now that I've found a kindred spirit... I can't just let go..."
Not now, Leon...
Not ever...

I... I love you...
But I doubt a relationship...

But sometimes the words they, they come out so wrong, oh yes they do

Leon was pacing in his room until he finally drop dead tired on his bed.
It was early three in the morning and still he couldn't fall asleep.
The vision of a sobbing D haunted him.
A dagger of guilt went through his heart as he thought about it.
Johnny was a wonderful man... He didn't deserve to die...
D was his best friend and he also didn't deserve the pain...
He didn't mean to hurt D...
He was just so depressed.
Johnny Benedict was his new partner and on their first mission together... 
He died shielding Leon from a bullet.
"Johnny you asshole... Why?"
"It's not yet your time... Besides there are others who need you..."
Leon cradled his partner with shock at what he saw.
Bright lavender eyes flashed happiness as blood stained his full lips.
"I'm happy...," said the golden haired agent with his last breath.

God, I didn't mean to throw all my anger at you... Fuck, what can I do? 
What can I do to woe you?
Not that kind of woe... I'm not attracted to guys...
But please... D, you're a part of me...

Rising up his bed, he began to change his clothes to working clothes. 
Taking the keys to his car, he went down to the garage and began to start his car.

It was early morning so there was no traffic to Leon's happiness.
Reaching his destination, he began to knock on the petshop's double doors.
"D! OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR!"

That what we have is so right this time, and

D had fallen asleep to the sound of his Grandfather's soothing voice.
He looked so peaceful sleeping in Sofu D's arms.
Hush, little one... If that human comes back and starts to hurt you...
Sofu D's thought's were then interrupted by noise outside the petshop.
Now who could that insolent...
"D! OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR!"
Sofu D's gritted his teeth, What the! Did that creature of a brute have something called manners?
He was making noise at the near break of dawn.
Angrily, he left his grandson in his room and stormed out of the petshop.

"D..."
Leon looked so worn out and pitiful as he walked towards Sofu D.
Immediately, Sofu D slapped him to the ground and began to shout at him in Chinese.
"Oww... What the fuck... D? Is that you?," groaned Leon as he reached for his forehead.
Before he could stand up, the kami held him by the collar and threw him at the side.
"D?! What are you doing?!"
People began to wake up because of the ruckus outside and were very shocked to see Leon being tossed aside by a cloaked figure.

"You! You have no right to come near my xiao yi! You're only hurting him! Get away from him! You don't deserve him! You're only hurting him! HOW DARE YOU EVEN COME BACK AFTER WHAT YOU'VE DONE!!!"
Sofu D began to slap Leon at both cheeks while holding him still.
The kami burned with rage. He couldn't tolerate this at all.
This lesser being... made his beloved grandson cry... How dare he...

That wasn't D. D had a different voice. 
"Who are---"
"STOP IT! GRANDFATHER! STOP IT! STOP HURTING LEON!"

I need you tonight
I need you right now

The younger kami came running towards them.

"D...," trailed off Leon before he was knocked out unconscious due to blood loss.
"Leon!"
D cradled the American's head and checked his friend's body extensively.
Loss of blood...
With a rush of adrenaline, D took Leon in his arms inside the petshop.

He lay the agent on his bed as he began to treat the young detective.
"Shh...," whispered the kami. "You're safe now... I'm sorry... It was my fault..."
Slowly, he began to nurse the wounded detective.

"D... please forgive me...," moaned the detective in his sleep.
D smiled and kissed Leon on the forehead, "I already have, my dear Leon..."

It doesn't matter if it's wrong or right

Sofu D appeared at the doorway panting as sweat made it's way down his face.
"Grandfather...," said D with a monotonous tone as he turned to his grandfather.
"Why? Why did you do that?"
"I...D..."
"You shouldn't have gotten involved."
D knew he shouldn't have said that but his grandfather had made it clear that communication gaps made relationships fail. If D wouldn't speak out what he felt towards his grandfather, how would he understand?
But where did the value respect go then?
"I...I'm sorry," said Sofu D.
"Grandfather...," said D breathlessly as he watched his grandfather turn to leave.
D stood up and temporarily left Leon. 
He ran after Sofu D but he disappeared before he could even catch him.
All he heard where the leathery batting of wings.
Grandfather...

D sat by Leon's bedside when the agent began to stirred.
"D..."
"I'm here, Leon..."
The kami was surprised when the agent took his bony hand in his.
"D... I'm sorry."
The kami chuckled softly, "I already have..."

All those endless times we tried to make it last forever more
And baby I know

"Oh god... D..."
"Shh... I know you didn't mean what you said... I owe you an apology as well. I didn't mean to hurt you..."
"D..."
The two stared at one another for awhile as Leon tried to sit up.
"Oh shit...What happened to me?"
"Don't you remember?"
"Oh, yeah... Was that your twin or someone? He was pure fuck."
D stared at the detective flatly, "Detective, he is my immediate family. Don't curse him."
"O...ok..."
"Leon... I'm happy that we've resolved the matter before dawn. I mean... It's good to be friends again. It would only cause me pain to loose you. I value this friendship between us very much."
"Me too. I'm really sorry. I wouldn't like to miss tea, after you've made me so addicted to it. Like damn it... I can't tea unless you do it."
The kami smiled, "Oh really? Thank you. You don't need to flatter me, Leon."
"But it's true. I don't drink tea unless you make it."

Q-chan was flapping his little wings as he eavesdropped on his grandson and his friend.
There was a long silence between the both of them when they began to laugh.
Maybe I was wrong... There might be some and I emphasize the some remarkably different humans lurking around, most likely... 
After witnessing the scenes that happened, he could conclude that his grandson was truly falling in love with Leon. 
That human... He better not do anything to hurt his beloved grandson again or he�s going to end up in a worst state than now. Call me overprotective over D but I am merely protecting my little one.
He means everything to me!
You hear me?!
Leon Orcot, you better not make my little one cry or else...
With that, Q-chan flew away.
"Q!!!"
Was it him or did he just see a figure disappear in the hallway? 
Hmm... I better check on this...

D leaned on Leon as they shared the same bed as they slept.
D looked up and smiled to himself.
You don't know how much you mean to me, Leon...
You just don't know...
As D closed his mismatched eyes, Leon's arm held him close in sleep.
"D... Damn it... Don't go yet. Is this what best friends do?"
D chuckled quietly, "Xie Xie Ni... How adorable... You sleep talk..."
Finally, sleep overcame the tired kami as he himself fell asleep.

D... Believe it or not but I really think...
That we're destined to meet...
It's a weird feeling...
Damn... I can't explain it.
Either ways, I appreciate the friendship.
You're the only one who knows me so well...
Thanks for always being there when I need you.
You've always taught me lotsa important things in life...
Come to think of it, you just did.

"Time does not matter much to the kami. We are ageless. We may wish to live forever if we will to. In comparison to mankind whose lives are quite shorter than ours. Death preys on your backs like a wolf. So, Detective, make the most of everything and everyone around you. Remember, nothing in this human world exists forever even you."
