Summary: What if Lex had met Clark before he came to Smallville?
Author's Notes: *<-- Shows the lyrics to the song. Fluffy stuff. I
was feeling a little down, and all these sad fics came out, so here's
something meaningless, but happy. :) I need Clex chocolate!

*Boy I saw you soon as you came bouncin' through the door
You and your man's and them just look over the floor *

Lex stood by the bar and sipped a lime martini as he watched the
dance floor. Bodies intertwined and gyrated to the beat as lights
circled, faded in and out giving the place a flashy look. He was
bored after getting hit on by men and women who were boring, and
desperate, throwing themselves at him disgracefully. None of them got
much of his attention other than to be shooed away with a waved hand
in disgust. He was trying to choose a body to use and get out, or if
he should just leave unrelieved.

As he was about to give up hope his eyes were drawn to the door.
Three men had just walked in. One was short, with a mocha complexion
and brown eyes. The other was as tall as him with brown-tip-dyed-
blond hair, blue eyes, and a letter jacket was draped over his
shoulder.

The last one to walk through caught his attention. He was taller than
many men in the room including himself. He had dark, seemingly black
hair, and hazel eyes that seemed to pull him in from across the room.
The man's gaze swept over the floor, and he joined his friends as
they made their way deeper inside.

*Started doing your thing
And it made me notice you even more *

They started mackin' on the ladies and got quite a welcome. Lex's
eyes blazed as he saw several women and men attach themselves to the
dark haired man and paw at him. His eyes narrowed and he considered
tipping the bouncer to throw them out of the club. Though he was
irritated the blush that worked up the cheeks and the silly grin that
blossomed across the beautiful face held him captivated.

*The way you turned around and looked at me
It seemed as though you must have somehow felt me staring on the low
Something tells me your the kind of guy I'd like to get to know *

The young man suddenly looked up and in his direction, his attention
leaving the group of people surrounding him. His eyes found and held
Lex's and time seemed to slow down. Lex could see the intelligence
behind the hazel eyes, and the smile that lifted the corner of his
mouth and danced in his eyes. Lex suddenly had the feeling that the
man could make his day, heck year, with just that smile. He could
feel the connection flare between them across the span of the room.

*I ain't even gonna front
I ain't even gonna lie
Since you walked up in the club
I've been giving you the eye
We can dance if you want
Get it crackin' if you'd like
It must be a full moon
Feels like one of those nights *

Lex smirked and leaned against the counter with grace and poise. He
openly appraised the man's figure and licked his lips before he
lifted his glass up taking a sip, lapping slowly at the salt along
the rim. He watched the mans' nostrils flare and something else come
into those large eyes. He disentangled himself from the women, and
men surrounding him and walked over his way.

Lex kept his cool, and relaxed as the man came to stand before him,
practically in his personal space. He smiled a rather sexy smile and
leaned in close to be heard over the music. Before he opened his
mouth he put a hand down on the counter near Lex's hip and moved his
head to the side slightly, inhaling deeply.

Lex's eyes dilated and he shifted closer to the solid warmth in front
of him, and to the arm to his side in response to the display. He
looked up into eyes almost black from dilation and turned deep sea
green.

The mans' smile turned into a matching smirk and his eyes roamed over
Lex's body before his head nodded back at the grinding bodies on the
dance floor. "Wanna dance?"

Lex considered the bodies behind them and shook his head no. He
leaned close to the man in front of him and said clearly into his
ear, "I have somewhere private where we can hear the music, and enjoy
ourselves more. Would you join me?" At Clark's nod he took his large
hand in his own and guided him to the back where an elevator waited.
The bouncer in front of it stepped to the side to let them pass, and
Lex hit the third button. They were silent as the elevator ascended,
but Lex's hip was brushed against when the man moved to stand closer
to him. He couldn't push back a small smile, but he kept his eyes on
the door.

Once they stepped into the smaller version of the room downstairs,
(just for those with quite a bit more money) they stepped onto the
less crowded dance floor. The music was deep with a strong beat. Lex
instantly situated himself against the tall lean body before him and
started a slow grind, one hand behind his neck, the other to the
side. He closed his eyes when the beautiful man placed two large
hands on his hips and moved them together gently. Several songs
later, both flushed and breathless they found an unoccupied couch and
crashed into it.

*Why is this the first time that I'm seeing you around?
Could you be visiting or are you new in town?
And whatever the case
I'm feeling you right here and right now*

Lex was curious about why he hadn't seen the young man before, and
discovered his name was Clark Kent, and that he had just moved to
Metropolis to work at the Daily Planet. They found themselves deep in
conversation, laughing and talking, discovering something that
neither expected to find in a club.

*Your smile and all the love you show
It lets me know that you like what you see
and wanna get to know me too
And this could very well be the start of something special
I'm happy that I met you ... baby*

Lex found himself drawn to the kind, caring, and joyful nature that
Clark exhibited. He was nothing like the other people in the club
that threw themselves at him, only seeming to care, but really
wanting the money and power that came with the position of being with
a Luthor.

He had tried to let one man in, when he was young, and thought he was
in love. After his heart had been shattered, he hadn't thought that
he would find anyone with such a innocent disposition. His father
hadn't disabused him of the idea either.

He had come to think of people as heartless, and was slowly but
surely becoming so himself.

When Clark had told him he knew who he was, he'd expected the slutty,
desperate, or sickeningly sweet treatment that was the usual around
him but was pleasantly surprised. Clark was witty, sharp, and had a
wonderful sense of humor. He paid attention to what he said instead
of nodding vapidly, and Lex found himself spilling out his aches, and
pains, dreams and wishes to this virtual stranger.

He had a sweet feeling in his stomach and a glow started to suffuse
him at the special attention. He felt normal and happy, like he'd
never experienced before. He was suddenly thankful that he had stayed
long enough to meet this amazing man before him.

"I'm glad I met you Clark. I hope we can get to know each other a lot
better." Clark smiled at the shadow of hope in Lex's voice.

"I'd like that very much Lex. Come on let's dance some more!"

*I ain't even gonna front
I ain't even gonna lie
Since you walked up in the club
I've been giving you the eye
We can dance if you want
Get it crackin' if you'd like
It must be a full moon
Feels like one of those nights *

Lex felt like this was one of those magical nights that his mother
always told him he would have one day. She had told him of enchanting
moments, time seeming to stand still, and moonlight memories. He
wished she were still here so he could tell her it had finally
happened for him.

*I didn't think that I'd come here tonight
And meet someone like you and start feeling the way I do
Seems like we've known each other most of our lives
After one conversation
This must be right *

The night passed quickly with Lex feeling practically swept off of
his feet by a knight in bright armor. He felt alive and electric with
joy and peace...And that was just for this one night. But Lex found
that he and Clark had forged something more powerful than one night.
They had forged something that would last for the rest of their
lives. His future was looking a lot brighter with Clark by his side.

*I ain't even gonna front
I ain't even gonna lie
Since you walked up in the club
I've been giving you the eye
We can dance if you want
Get it crackin' if you'd like
It must be a full moon
Feels like one of those nights*

It was just one of those magical nights.
