Summary: Clark gets a little push in the right direction.
Family 3
It had been a week since that day in the Talon, and Clark didn't see
Greg often, since he and Lex were out together a lot. He hadn't been
able to see Lex since school finals were coming up, and the Torch was
backed up more often, taking up much of his time between that and
chores. Though his mother told him that Lex had come to see him when
he was out, and left a message for him to call him.
He hadn't called yet, but he intended to go over to Lex's today if at
all possible. He missed his friend and needed to be in his calming
presence. He went through school rehearsing his speech to Lex about
their relationship that he'd prepared for when they could sit down
and talk.
After he had gotten back from California he sat down and wrote his
feelings down, which it had helped him sort through his issues. He
knew now that Lana was just someone he kept on a pedestal, something
to make him feel real. Lex on the other hand he had kept his feelings
down in his subconscious because he hadn't wanted to be different.
But Lex was what he needed through and through, a friend, and now he
wanted something else, something more. Lex was there for him in a
different way from his parents, in a way he didn't think anyone ever
would be. He felt a connection that flared every time their eyes met
and their hands grazed. He felt a warm feeling in his belly whenever
Lex let go and laughed, relaxed and smiled because of him.
But he felt guilty because before Greg came and showed interest in
Lex, he hadn't even considered a relationship with him that way. He
had selfishly been content to be Lex's best, and only friend, and
concentrated on Chloe, and Lana. He could choose between those two,
but Lex had been on the side, always waiting in the wings to take him
in his arms for comfort, ready to be there for him in any way he
needed. He kinda felt that Lex deserved better, but pushed it off
reasoning that he'd make it up.
Greg changed all of that when he broke past Lex's barriers without
more effort Clark thought he would need. He had only broken in so
quickly because he saved Lex's life. Greg had told him once that if
you keep it real with people, they'll relax around you knowing that
what your show them is 'you'. Clark knew that Lex suspected him of a
great deal, and he was ready to do what he needed to. If that
included letting Lex find out about him, then he could do it.
One thing that had scared him was the rage that had flared within him
at the Talon. He'd never felt anything like it, and he'd been on the
verge of seriously hurting Greg for touching what was his. He may be
presumptuous in calling Lex his, but he knew in his heart that they
were meant to be.
'I still have to tone it down with the jealousy thing.' He had
totally blown Lana off, and even though she forgave him, she shot him
strange little looks sometimes. He took to ignoring her when not
directly near her for said reason.
His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a car door slam and saw
his father get out. "Hey dad." He said going out to see if he needed
help.
"Clark. What are you up to?"
"Nothing. Just trying to make sure I'll pass all the finals this year
before summer break."
"I'm sure you'll do fine son, you're already ahead. Hey how about
giving me a hand." Clark helped his father and once he finished all
his obligations he headed over to Lex's.
When he got there he headed for the study, since he always started
searching for Lex there. He found the room empty and headed for the
library next. Sure enough when he walked in Lex was sitting on the
couch next to his cousin, both staring into the fireplace as the
flames blazed.
Clark knocked loudly, slightly peeved at the scene of calm and peace
they represented and saw Greg jump, and Lex turn to see him.
"Clark! How are you? I haven't seen, or heard from you since the
Talon, and wondered if you were okay."
"I'm fine Lex. Just had some things to work out." He said as he
stared at Greg pointedly. Greg grinned and tipped his glass to him
before getting up and walking out.
"I'll see ya in the study when you're done buddy."
Lex nodded but his eyes were fixed on Clark concern shown in the
steel blue depths. "So are you okay Clark?"
The question was asked softly and Clark found himself next to Lex on
the couch close enough to touch. "I'm much better than I ever was,
now that I've found things out about myself. I did a lot of thinking
and I have a lot of things become clear Lex."
Lex watched him carefully, and knowing Clark's body language like he
did he got up and got him a cool drink for his nerves. "You can tell
me anything Clark. It'll be fine."
Clark nodded and knocked the cold water back in several giant gulps.
Lex gave him a look, but otherwise didn't say anything to him about
his nervousness, just waited patiently, eyes going back to the flames
that emitted heat towards them. Clark took comfort in the silence and
then sighed as his shoulders relaxed, and his spine melted. He leaned
close to Lex and could smell the alcohol he was consuming, the sweet
musky smell of Lex's cologne, and the scent of 'Lex'. He opened his
mouth, but before he could get out what he was going to say a servant
knocked and came in informing Lex of a call about the business report
from Lionel's accountant. Lex waved his hand and said he'd take it in
a minute. He turned back to Clark and looked into his eyes.
"Did you want to tell me something Clark?"
Clark could've sworn he saw a glimmer of hope in Lex's eyes, but the
servants' interruption had fried his mustered courage, and he shook
his head and looked down. "I should probably go." Clark wasn't sure
if he imagined the brief flash of disappointment in Lex's eyes or not.
"Well, if you're sure. I should go take this, since it'll probably be
a long and boring phone call. If you want to talk to me, never
hesitate to do so Clark. Remember I'll always be there for you." Lex
walked him to the door and bid him goodbye before shutting it softly
against the cool evening wind.
Clark turned to face the wind and started his trek home, not feeling
like running home. The chill from the wind suddenly settled deep
within him when he realized that Greg was still inside the warm
castle with Lex.
*
The next weeks were a whirlwind for Clark and he missed Lex a great
deal. His mother had noticed his behavior, and with her motherly
ways, coaxed out his problems. He had shed tears as he spilled his
heart out, and she had stroked his hair and listened to everything he
said. When he finished she wasn't disappointed like he thought she
would be, but had been very understanding.
"After all Clark, you aren't human. We don't know what your people's
mating habits are." Clark had been so grateful to her for her kind
words, and encouragement. He had resolved to tell Lex his feelings
after his mothers' urge.
"If it's tearing you apart inside like this Clark, you should be
forthcoming with your feelings. Even if he doesn't return them, you
know that he knows. It'll be off your chest and in his hands to
accept or reject you."
So now he stood in front of Lex's door and waited patiently for a
servant to let him in. He headed upstairs and walked into Lex's study
ready to declare his feelings for him- and his heart stopped when he
saw them. Greg had Lex on the desk and stood between his thighs, as
he stuck his tongue into Lex's mouth. Lex had wrapped his arms around
Greg's neck, and he sighed softly into the kiss as he was ravaged.
Clark growled, and the sound echoed in the room. Lex broke from Greg
with a start, and Greg turned to see Clark. Lex unwrapped himself
from around Greg and smoothed down his clothes when he hopped off the
desk pushing at Greg's chest to move him. Clark growled again and
moved towards Greg menacingly. Lex's eyes widened in surprise when he
saw the look in Clark's eyes and he stepped directly between them,
right up to him. "Clark?"
Clark stopped and looked down into beautiful eyes and his heart
contracted painfully. "How could you let him do that?" his voice was
filled with hurt, and pain, and Lex looked confused.
"Why would you care Clark?" He asked very softly, his hand lifting to
rest on Clark's arm.
Clark looked up from Lex's bewildered eyes, and at his cousin. Greg
was frowning and shrugged at the look Clark gave him. "You had your
chance. Now it's my turn."
Lex frowned and watched them both, wondering what the heck was going
on, when Clark turned to him and kissed him fully on the mouth.
He melted against the firm pressure of Clark's body, his mouth
plundered with a kiss that he wasn't given a chance to control, or
protest. His thighs were lifted, wrapped around Clark's waist and his
back against a wall before he even registered that they had moved.
Clark grinded hard against him, and a whimper escaped him when Clark
plunged his agile tongue into his mouth, stroking his tongue
sensuously against his own.
He breathed deeply when he was released with a wet suckle, and looked
up into stormy blue passionate eyes.
Clark leaned down and placed his lips just against Lex's and
whispered against them, sharing breath. "I love you." With that he
turned and stalked out angrily glaring at Greg who had an eyebrow
raised.
Lex held onto the wall for support and barely registered Greg's
presence when he came to stand next to him. His mind awhirl with
thoughts about Clark's fiery declaration, and his aggression. He
hadn't known Clark could be aggressive.
"I didn't know the boy could kiss. I guess I should let you think
huh." Lex looked blankly at him for a minute before visibly pulling
himself together.
"Yeah Greg. I think you should go. Thanks." Greg smirked and left,
leaving Lex to his thoughts. He grinned suddenly and laughed. 'What a
way to tell me you love me Clark.'
*
Clark went up to his loft the next day and caught Greg reading the
journal he had written his feelings in. He grabbed the book back from
him and frowned. "I didn't say you could look through my stuff. What
are you dong?"
Greg shrugged and smiled softly. "I didn't know you really loved him
Clark. I thought you were just curious about the situation and I
stepped in to save Lex from being heartbroken. I'm sorry for getting
between you two."
Clark stared at him silently for a minute and then sighed, plopping
down next to him on the couch. "I guess I deserved that. But really I
didn't know how I felt until you came and showed me what a gem I have
in Lex. If it wasn't for your presence threatening my relationship
with Lex, I probably would've never examined my feelings, and then I
wouldn't have gone to Lex. So I owe you for helping me see who I
love."
Greg grinned and shrugged. "Well I'm glad I got to play matchmaker."
Clark got a sad disposition and looked down at the book in his
hands. "That is if Lex is interested and wants me." Greg threw his
head back and laughed startling Clark.
"Oh I don't think you'll have to worry about that. I'm impressed. I
must've been a better teacher than I thought if you managed to daze
Lex Luthor. You will do well my young padawan." Clark snorted and
they grinned at each other.
"So what did your dad say?" Clark rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"He was kinda upset, but I guess he got used to it cause he's
speaking to me. I don't think it was so much that I'm gay, just that
it's Lex. I think your presence loosened him up some, otherwise he
would've flipped more than he did."
"Don't underestimate the power of Martha Kent as well." They laughed
together and then Clark sobered as he gazed at his cousin.
"So what about you? Did you really like Lex?"
"Yeah he's a cool guy, but we're more friends than anything else.
Besides I have a couple of people in Metropolis I've got to call. I
guess he was looking for comfort, and I didn't mind being the one to
give it to him. He is quite attractive." Clark nodded in agreement
and they sat silently until they heard loud footsteps on the steps.
"Clark?"
Clark's head snapped up at the sound of Lex's voice and his eyes
widened in surprise. Greg grinned and got up to leave, punching Lex
on the shoulder lightly as he walked by.
They looked at each other for several minutes before Lex came and sat
down besides him.
"Are you okay?" Clark blurted blushing deeply and Lex chuckled.
"I'm more than okay now. So you love me huh." Clark blushed brighter
but nodded again. "Good. If you said no I was prepared to seriously
hurt you."
Clark smiled softly and scooted closer. "I love you. And I think I
should make my behavior these past years up to you."
Lex looked down briefly and then back up into his eyes. "You already
have Clark. You already have." They sat in the loft holding hands as
the sun set casting a warm glow to match their own.
