Part 13

Chloe and Pete were still out and they slept in the guestroom, and
Clark's old room upstairs. He sat on the couch with Lex wrapped
around him trying to comfort his anguish. His parents watched them
closely ready to lend their assistance in the best way the could.

"I destroyed my people's culture Lex. My heritage."

"I'm so sorry baby. I'm so sorry." Lex whispered as he rocked them
gently. Clark's head was buried in his neck and their arms were
wrapped around each other in a vise.

Soon Clark looked up and stared into Lex's eye. "I...It was worth it
for you. You are my center Lex. I love you." Lex's chest tightened
and tears glistened in his eyes as he smiled lovingly at Clark.

"I love you too Clark. For as long as I live." Martha and Jon smiled
at the picture they made and wrapped their arms around each other.

The silence was broken by Lex's wide yawn. He frowned and then
shrugged sheepishly at his love, and family. "I don't know why I'm so
tired lately. I feel like I've gotten weak or something." He felt
Clark tense and look up at him.

"Uh Lex?"

Lex raised his eyebrow at him, and he swallowed convulsively before
spilling what he had found out in a non-stop rush. "Cresi used a
procedure on you and your going to be pregnant for 5 1/2 months and
then Jor-El, the last information AI I told you about, will use
another procedure to take the baby out when its fully developed and
I'm so sorry so please forgive me for getting you pregnant but I
didn't know what Cresi had done until recently and it'll be okay,
because, all you'll go through is some sleepiness, hunger, you'll be
a little sappy, with some mood swings, and you'll gain a little
weight in your hips if I remember correctly but 5 1/2 months isn't
that long so we'll be okay with mom and dad's help and you'll be
completely healthy."

It silence was so profound that even the insects outside stopped
their racket for several seconds. Clark tightened his grip on Lex who
tried to stand up and then lay him back on the couch when he fainted.
Martha and Jon's mouths were dropped open and it didn't look like
they were going to close anytime soon. Clark sighed and waited for
Lex to wake up. "Mom can we have some dinner? I'm hungry."

Lex woke to the smell of fried chicken and potato salad. He sat up
slowly and wondered if he had dreamed of Clark telling him he was
pregnant. But reality slapped him on the face when Clark walked in
the room and hugged him hard. "I love you. Our kid is going to grow
up in a happy family huh Lex." He was glowing and the idea of having
a baby seemed to be already accepted and welcomed in his mind. Lex on
the other hand was silently freaking out and he kicked Clark before
he managed to hug him again.

"Don't touch me!" He hissed as Clark's face went from happy to hurt
(not physically). Martha and Jon walked in and watched them silently
from the open doorway. He sat up and rubbed his eyes. 'My father is
probably turning in his grave right now.' He whimpered as it set in
and felt strong protective arms wrap him against a hard chest. He
fought for a second, and then caved and cried hard against Clark's
shoulder.

"It's okay...Shh..." He groaned and wanted to hit Clark again but
seriously trying to hit Clark meant seriously injuring oneself.

"It's not okay! An alien knocked me up and I'm having his baby! How
is that in any way shape or form okay!" His voice rose until he was
almost screaming in Clark's face. "I don't even have time to be
pregnant!!"

"Well you should take a vacation Lex. I don't want you to be stressed
out while your pregnant. It might hurt the baby." Lex started
cracking up laughing and couldn't stop, as the laughter became
hysterical. Martha solved that problem by slapping him gently on the
cheek. Large moist blue-gray eyes stared at her in shock.

"I couldn't have a child when I wanted to! I was shown favor by
having Clark come into our lives when he did. Don't you dare look
this miracle in the face and turn from it. You having the child of
the one you love. That is purely miraculous Lex. A pure miracle." He
stared at her guardedly for several minutes before looking down at
the hands twining in his lap.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset Martha."

"It's alright. Just calm down okay?" At his nod she kissed the cheek
she slapped then his forehead and smiled at him. "I know you're
scared, but we'll be here for you."

Tears came to his eyes and he nodded and settled back against Clark
who had never left him when he awoke.

'The only person in my life who didn't judge me by name but by who I
was inside when we first met. The only man that would ever pledge his
love just for me, not my money or status. The man that destroyed his
only connection to his people's heritage, and culture for me. He
loves me.'

It seemed as if that thought calmed the inner turmoil within him and
he looked up into hazel eyes. 'I can do anything for him.' He decided
to tell his soulmate his new revelation. "I can do anything for you
Clark. I can have your baby. I love you." The brilliant smile that
lit the room up, lit the inside of Lex's heart as well. 'I can do
this for you my love.'

They all stood near the pod as it showed them what it had shown
Clark. It restated the facts and everything they should look for
during Lex's pregnancy. They also discovered that it would be a boy.

Everyone was surprised to find out that Cresi had changed their
physiology to match that of Clark's in terms of time. They all would
age with him so that they could be there as support for him through
life. Clark had been overjoyed and hugged them all in happiness. It
was something he could remember about his mother. A gift she gave,
one that she left him to have a happy life.

After everyone got all the answers to their questions they headed
inside.

Chloe was coming down the steps and Pete wasn't far behind her. They
were both rubbing their heads and looking confused.

"What happened man? I remember a flash of light, and I wake up with
this monster headache." Chloe nodded and then looked sorry that she
did and held her head tightly. Martha went and retrieved aspirin and
water for them and they all sat down in the dining room, except Lex
who was feeling very tired and went upstairs for a nap.

"You guys I have a lot to tell you, but you can't tell anyone else,
okay?" At their nod he took a deep breath and glanced at his parents
before beginning. "It started when we were in high school..."

Lex felt the bed dip and he rolled over into the warmth that lay down
next to him. "Clark?"

"Yeah honey. It's me."

Lex yawned and stretched before snuggling close to Clark. "So what
did Pete and Chloe say?" He felt Clark sigh and hug him tight.

"They were upset that I had lied for so long to them, but were cool
about everything else. I think they're going to be okay with
everything soon Lex. I hope so anyway." Clark's tone made Lex look up
into his eyes.

"Didn't you know that anyone who cares about Clark Kent are
susceptible to great wrongs, and have to forgive him? It's code 'big
eyes' in the book of life."

Clark snorted in laughter and wrapped his arms around Lex to roll
them so that Lex was partially on top. The silence was comfortable
and they relaxed in the warm glow that suffused them both. Clark
caressed the slightly swelling hips and thought of something. "Did
you think about what to name our baby?" Lex shook his head no.

"I didn't get a chance to think about it for long. Did you?"

"I was thinking about Kel. It's part of my Kryptonian name Kal-El."
Lex looked thoughtful, and then nodded.

"I like it honey. Kel it is." Clark grinned and hugged Lex fiercely.
He was glad to have such a smart, warm, gorgeous, loving mate for
himself.

"I love you."

"Love you too."

"Do you think we can have another one?"

"Another what honey?"

"Another baby?"

Silence then the sound of a pillow hitting a head hard.

"NO Clark!"

Martha and Jon glanced up from the dishes as they heard laughter and
thumping from upstairs.

"Boys will be boys." They smiled at each other and continued their
task thinking about the future that held a long, fulfilling life.
