Part 11

Martha and Jon sat in the living room talking quietly when the screen
door opened and Clark walked in with his former glow, with Lex in tow
behind him. Their hands were clasped in a death grip and Clark had
their arms swinging slightly in time with the bounce in his step.
Lex's glow was back, and he smiled at them shyly.

Martha jumped up and rushed to him, enfolding his thin figure into
her arms. He was slightly stiff, but then relaxed in her grasp and
put his head against her shoulder. Jon had moved behind him and
patted his back around Martha's arms. She felt moisture on her
shoulder and tightened her arms rocking him gently. Clark looked
upset and hurt, but Jon wrapped him in his arms and drew him into the
living room away from them.

"Let them have a minute alone Clark. Your mother and I were very
worried about Lex. And from the looks of it he needs to be reassured
too." They looked back and saw Lex with his arms tightly around her
waist face buried in her neck. Martha rocked them gently and
whispered soothingly. "Though I don't think I've seen Lex so
emotional before." Jon said with a slight frown. Clark frowned too.
Lex may have been through serious crap in his life, but he never
showed it the way he did now, much less with witnesses to the break
down. In fact lately he was getting a lot more emotional than usual.

They waited for Lex to get it all out and then settled down in the
living room together. Lex was partially in Clark's lap, and Clark's
parents sat across from them hands clasped between them.

The silence was comfortable and after such a stress filled day Lex
found himself dozing with his head pillowed by Clark's strong
shoulder. He could hear them talking softly about the strange
behavior that Clark exhibited today. Clark kept saying he didn't
remember doing anything of the sort, much less ever wanting to. But
he did remember that, what he thought was a dream, Cresi had come to
him and told him about what Lex did when they were younger, and how
he had been furious at the revelation.

Lex's sleepy mind snapped awake with *her* name. 'Cresi! Of course.'

His head rose up off of Clark's shoulder and he stared at his
fiance
wanting to tell him, but thinking carefully. 'If I tell Clark, he
won't believe me, he'll take her side because she's his birth mother.
I don't want to go around his back but I think I should take care of
this myself.'

Clark glanced down at him and smiled a truly heartening smile. On
that reminded Lex of Clark's words, that no matter what happened they
would make it together. As if sensing his thoughts Clark took his
hand and held it close to his chest and pulled him by the waist
against his side. "Mom, dad we have to tell you something."

At Martha and Jon's exchanged looks, he took a breath and plowed
on. "Lex and I are getting married." Martha squealed (painfully for
the men in the room), and clapped her hands in joy. Jon grinned from
ear to ear and reached out and clapped his son's shoulder. Martha was
apparently going to be their wedding planner, because she was already
going on about this and that. Jon just nodded at whatever she said
and threw them exasperated looks every time her head turned to look
at the boys on the couch. Clark laughed happy at his parent's
exceptance, and Lex just smiled softly at her enthusiasm and joy.

They stayed together late into the night before Lex said he had to be
getting to bed. Clark insisted on running him to the castle, and said
he would drive the car to him tomorrow. When they arrived at the
castle Lex, was carried up to his room like they were on their
honeymoon, and Lex couldn't help but laugh and punch Clark in the
shoulder until he was let down.

"I'm not your fragile damsel that you can carry around wherever you
please." He harrumphed as he was set down on the floor and wrapped in
the large frame in front of him.

Clark's face darkened for a moment, and then gave him a smile that
tightened his belly in a nice way. "You may not be, but you are mine.
Should I remind you of that?" The sexy bass that was Clark's voice
sent shivers down his spine.

Clark leaned into him burying his head in his neck and purred softly
as he inhaled deeply. Lex moaned softly and became pliant in face of
the nuzzling and the soft purring deep within Clark's chest that
vibrated against him. He felt Clark shift closer and lift him
slightly to get a leg between his thighs, and rubbed it back and
forth as he rocked them together. Lex groaned at the heat between his
thighs, and Clark's possessive growl in his ear. He bucked against
the muscled thigh and held on as Clark picked him up completely and
placed him on the bed. He was on top of him in a second, and they
moved against each other harshly before Clark ripped his clothes off
and with a swirl of air was naked himself.

He was back on the bed and between Lex's thighs and finally their
lips met in a deep, soul-searing kiss. Lex cried out softly into
Clark's mouth as his body was bucked against hard. He gasped for air
and held on to Clark's shoulders, as he took them both in his hand
that he had slicked with lube sometime. They strained against each
other, and Lex arched hard and spilled into Clark's pumping fist. He
gasped as he stared up into Clark's black-rimmed green eyes and
hardened again in response to the need reflected there. Lex mewled
when Clark flipped around and took him in to the hilt, sucking and
humming alternately. Clark shifted within Lex's reach and Lex took in
as much as possible while stroking the rest in his hand. He moaned
and drooled over the member, as Clark's grip on his hips tightened.
Lex pulled off of Clark and screamed as the second orgasm hit him
hard when he felt a thick finger push into him and rub against his
prostate. He lay there panting when Clark flipped back around so
their faces were next to each other and kissed his breath away. Lex
threw a leg over Clark's thigh and bumped his butt against his cock.
Clark groaned and held him immobile as he humped him passionately
before throwing his head back and spilling all over Lex's bottom.

They lay there panting for quite sometime before Lex's mind prodded
him to ask about something he had noticed.

"Why didn't you take me?"

"Huh?" Lex smiled at the adorable lost look on his love's face and
kissed his brow sweetly.

"Why didn't you take me?" He said again slower, bumping his butt
against his spent member.

"Oh. Um. Give me a minute?" At Lex's nod he was gone and back with a
damp warm towel and wiped them off before jumping back into the bed
and nuzzling Lex's neck. "I...I have these...Well instincts I guess.
They come out stronger when we're together like this. I think I just
didn't want to hurt you..."

"Your instincts told you not to take me? You've done it before, why
was now different?"

"I don't know. I just followed them. They haven't steered me wrong
yet." Lex sighed and let it go. The sex was mind blowing as usual so
he really couldn't complain. Clark purred softly and snuggled closer.
Lex wrapped his arms around his waist and squeezed him tightly.

"Your like my own personal live teddy bear." The chuckle vibrated
against his chest and he smiled contentedly. He felt the roaming
hands stop at his abdomen and stroke gently before a shaky breath was
taken. Lex looked down and saw Clark's eyes dilate and concentrate on
his belly. He frowned and nudged his mate. "What are you staring at?"

"Lex...Have you...I mean are you...?" He trailed off and looked up at
him with an agitated expression.

"What Clark? Your using you x-ray." It was a statement but Clark
nodded anyway. "What do you see?"

"It's...It's a lump. I saw it before but forgot it thinking that it
was something normal in humans or something. But it's bigger now. Do
you think you have..."

"Cancer?" Lex took a shuddery breath and lay back against the pillows
on the bed. He flashed back to his mother suddenly with her thin,
weak hand in his as she squeezed gently and smiled like her old self
at him before taking her last breath. Her hair had come out long ago,
and she was constantly on painkillers suffering 'til her death.

He shuddered violently and Clark was there pulling him back stroking
his head, and kissing him deeply, saying 'nothing is going to take
you from me' over and over against his lips. A tear slid down Lex's
cheek and he calmed Clark with caresses and gentled the kisses until
the heart he felt beneath his hand slowed down to a normal pace
within the strong chest. Lex settled his forehead against Clark's and
sighed softly. "Clark, remember that no matter what happens to me, I
will always love you. I'll be with you here," He brushed Clark's
temple, "and here." His hand rested against his chest and Clark was
already shaking his head.

"Nothing's going to happen Lex. We can get this checked out and it'll
probably be nothing, or something that they can fix quickly. Okay?
Okay Lex?" Lex smiled sadly at him and took his hand in his.

"I'm only human Clark. I'm not invincible like you." Lex sighed and
ran his hand over his smooth head. "Please let's not discuss this
right now. There's time enough to do it later." Clark nodded in
agreement though his eyes shined brightly with unshed tears, and he
ducked his head against Lex's neck. They lay in silence and Lex's
constant touches finally relaxed Clark so that the small tremors
stopped completely. Clark didn't want to think about life without his
best friend, companion, lover...without the other half of his soul.

He sighed and kissed his mate behind his ear. "What are you planning
to do without telling me?" Lex jerked in his arms, and Clark smiled
softly. "Did you think I couldn't see the gears working behind your
eyes?" He felt Lex's silent sigh, and squeezed him tightly. "Tell me
Lex." The command in his voice had Lex spilling automatically.

"I think your mother orchestrated your little memory lapse, as well
as your actions. She knows about Nixon, and I think she's going to
eliminate him because she thinks he's a threat to you, even though I
told her I would handle it. She threatened me, and said that I didn't
know what she was capable of and that she was going to break us up
and terminate me. She's out of control Clark. I have to do
something." He looked up at Clark's face expecting to see disbelief
that he was accusing her. The sheer fury in the passion turned green
eyes he hadn't. He tensed but Clark tightened his grip.

"Why didn't you tell me? You were going to try and take care of this
yourself?" At Lex's hesitant nod he sighed and tried to calm
down. "I'm not mad at you love."

Lex relaxed in his arms and buried his face in his neck in relief. He
didn't think he could take Clark's rejection again for as long as he
lived. He took several calming breaths and hugged his mate closer. "I
was afraid you'd be mad at me. I didn't want to come between you and
her because I thought you might take up her defense...And because
she's the last of your connection to your homeworld."

Clark sighed and rubbed his lovers' back soothingly. "I may care
about her, but I'm not unreasonable, and she's gone entirely too far.
No one threatens my loved ones." The deadly calm in that voice sent
shivers down his spine and he was very glad that it Clark wasn't
angry at him.

" I think it's time that we had a talk with her...Together. Don't try
and do things without me Lex. We're mates now and I need you to talk
to me when something's bothering you. Promise?" Lex smiled and nodded
kissing him soundly on the mouth. 'It's great to have him by my
side.' He thought happily. They fell asleep safe in each other's
