Vejita downed another shot of whiskey, and poured himself five
more,
finishing off the bottle.  After he drank the last of them, he nodded
to
the barkeeper.  "Another bottle," he slurred.
The man looked at him suspiciously.
"What," Vejita demanded, "Didn't you hear me?"
"You've had quite a lot... maybe you should take a break."
"And maybe YOU should mind your own fuckin' business and just give
me
another damn bottle!"  The Saiyajin glared at the bartender, who sighed
and
pulled another bottle off the shelf.  Vejita was reaching for it when a
woman walked up to him.
"Care to buy me a scotch?"
     "No.  Go away."
"Now, now," the woman purred, "don't be that way.  How about I buy
YOU
a drink?  I could pay for that bottle."
"Nobody bothers to listen anymore, do they?  I said go the fuck
away."
The woman pouted.   "You're a mean drunk."
"I'm not drunk, I'm like this all the time."  Vejita glared at the
woman, hoping she'd take the hint and go away.  It was times like this
he
wished he had managed to blow up this godforsaken planet when he'd had
the
chance.
Finally, the woman *did* take the hint, and slunk off.
The bartender shook his head.  "You made a mistake.  Good women
are
hard to find in these parts."
"Who needs 'em?  I've sworn off the whole damn lot of them."
     "Hmmm... bitter, are we?"
     "Maybe."  Vejita shrugged.
     "Is that why you're here?"
The Saiyajin laughed at this.  "Yeah, right.  You don't know me
very
well, obviously.  You think I'm here to drown my sorrows or some dumb
shit
like that?  I'm just here to try and get a buzz on.  It'd take more
booze
than you've got to make me forget my troubles."
     "'Zat so?"
     "Yeah, it is."
The barkeep looked at his patron suspiciously.  "If you think I'm
gonna start giving you more booze to try and *prove* that point..."
     "I don't 'think' anything.  I'm just stating a fact.  I know, I've
tried...  it takes a lot to get me *seriously* drunk."
     "Hmmm... tough guy, eh?"
Vejita smirked.  "You might say that..."
At this, a rather pretty young man sidled up to Vejita.  "So.  Did
I
hear you've given up on women?"
Vejita raised an eyebrow and looked the boy up and down.
"Something
like that."
"Care to give *me* a try?"
Vejita snorted.  "You couldn't handle me."
The boy sat down and smiled.  "I'd be willing to try."
"You must have a death wish, kid."
"Who doesn't these days?  It's not like our lives are our own
anymore.
So you might as well get what pleasure you can where ever you can find
it."
"'Pleasure'..."  Vejita mulled over the word in his mind.  It had
been
some time since he'd experienced true pleasure.  He looked at the boy
again.  Then, without another word, he grabbed the front of the youth's
shirt, yanked him towards him and gave him a fierce, almost violent
kiss.
The youngster clutched at Vejita's shirt and pulled him even closer.
Finally, the older of the pair moved back and turned to the
barkeep.
"How many more bottles did I pay for?"
The man looked at the tab Vejita had started and quickly did the
math.
"I figure you can afford two more of the same priced stuff you've been
getting."
Vejita swiftly downed the rest of his current bottle, then held
out
his hands.  "Hand 'em over."  As soon as the bartender had done so, the
Saiyajin got to his feet and nodded to his new companion.  "C'mon.  I
know
a place were we can... be alone."

"So," Vejita asked his new friend, "this isn't your first time, is
it?"  The young man shook his head as he sat down on the small but
clean,
well-made bed.  "Good.  I hate having to show people what to do."
"Not a problem with me, I assure you.  I may seem young, but I'm
older
than I look.  And I'm... quite experienced."
Vejita joined the boy on the bed and handed him one of the
bottles.
"Fine.  Two rules:  No names and you leave when I tell you to go, no
questions asked, unless I leave first."
"Oooh," the boy purred playfully, moving closer to Vejita.  "A man
of
mysteries..."
"I'm not fucking around here, boy.  Those are the rules.  You
don't
like 'em, go find yourself another date."
"Ok, ok," said the boy.  "But can't we use *some* name?  Or should
I
just call you 'hey, you!'?"
Vejita shrugged.  "Call me whatever you like."
The boy smiled.  "Ok.  I'll call you... 'Serge'.  And you can call
me
'Gilbert'."
     "All right, 'Gilbert' it is."

Vejita watched the smoke from his cigarette slowly waft in the
slight
breeze that was coming through the window.  He took another drag, then
put
it out and got up to get a drink.
His young companion smiled.  "You smoke, you drink, you have sex
with
strangers... is there any vice you don't indulge in?"
     "Not many."
The boy nodded.  He got off the bed and walked over to a corner of
the
room that had a small assortment of stuffed animals.  He kneeled down
and
smiled at the large teddy bear that was the centerpiece of the display.
He
patted it gently and dust scattered into the air.  "You don't take very
good care of your toys," he commented.
"They're not mine; they probably belonged to the people who were
here
before me."
"Oh," Gilbert replied.  "Yeah, you look a bit old for stuffed
animals..."  He reached down and picked one of the "chibi" dolls; a Mr.
Satan.  "Mr.  Satan!  I love this guy!"  He smiled and brushed the dust
off
the poor little doll.
"You can have it if you want."
"I'm a bit old for dolls, too," Gilbert said with a laugh.
Vejita shrugged.  "So don't take it."
This was greeted with a little growl  "Well I didn't say that.
I..."
The boy sighed.  "I dunno..."
Vejita sat back down on the bed and nodded to the boy.  "It can
wait.
Come here."  Gilbert obeyed.  He placed the doll on the nightstand
before
he sat down in Vejita's lap and kissed him deeply.  As he did so, he
slid
his hands up to play in his lover's hair.  No sooner had he touched the
dark, coarse strands, then he pulled them out again and made a face.
"Ew," he said, moving his hands away, "You need to wash your
hair...
it's all... Stiff."
Vejita snorted.  "It's supposed to be like that."
     "It is?"
The Saiyajin sighed.  "Just take my word for it," he replied.
"Ok."  There was a pause.  "You an alien?"
     "Yes.  Does that bother you?"
"Nah.  We're... anatomically compatible, that's good enough for
me."
"Hmmm.  So you just wanted me for my body?"
     "Yes.  Does *that* bother *you*?"
     "Nah."
Another pause.  "So... I overheard you say you gave up on women.
I
take it you *used* to like them?"
"Truth be told, I still do.  But men are less... complicated.  And
less likely to get attached."
     "Hmmm," the boy acknowledged.
     "What about you?"
Gilbert shrugged.  "I've always preferred men."
"'Always'?  You haven't been around long enough to talk about
'always', kid."
"I told you before, I'm older than I look."  Now it was Vejita's
turn
to be suspicious.  "Well, I'm not too young for *you*, obviously," the
boy
teased, sliding his hand down his lover's chest.
Vejita chuckled.  "No, I guess not.  And you weren't lying about
being
experienced."
"Told you.  A lot of it's because of my first lover.  He was...
*amazing*.  He taught me so much." The boy looked thoughtful.  "They
say
you never forget your first time."
     "No, you don't," said Vejita.
"I know I won't.  It was wonderful."  The boy was smiling as he
got
lost in the memory.  He was running his hand along his abdomen as he
spoke.
"And it was... I mean, it just kind of... happened.  I met this guy,
and...
and the next thing I knew, we were in his bedroom, and he was all over
me... he kissed me and my clothes fell off..."  His hands moved down,
"Then
we were on his bed, and..."  He was now stroking himself.  "Oh, Gods,
it
was amazing."  The boy let out a cry as he got off, coming in his own
hand.
Then he lay back, half on the bed, half on Vejita's lap.  He looked up
at
Vejita, who smiled and offered him his discarded shirt to wipe his hand
with.  "Thanks.  I... I hope you're not too offended."
"About what?  That you got off in front of me?"
"No, that I did it thinking about my first lover."
Vejita shook his head.  "No, I wasn't offended."
     "Ok, good.
So what about your first time?"
The older man took out another cigarette and lit it.  "Well, it
was
with a woman.  She was... one of the best things that ever happened to
me."
Vejita sighed a bit sadly, thinking of his dead mate.  But then the
memory
of their first time together made him smile.  "She was older.  Not
*old* by
any means, but a few years older than me.  And quite good at it.  And I
was... not."  Gilbert chuckled.  "No, really," Vejita replied.  "I had
never really cared much about sex, so not only was I inexperienced, I
wasn't even sure exactly what was... I mean... well, how everything
worked."  The boy laughed even more at this.  //I don't know what's
stranger,// Vejita mused, //that I'm telling all this to a complete
stranger, or that it feels perfectly natural to be doing so.//
"Well, apparently you got good at it at some point."
Vejita grinned.  "Like you, a I owe a lot to my first lover.  And
not
just sexually.  She introduced me to a lot of things.  Like these,"  He
indicated his cigarette.
"And you think that's a good thing?"  Gilbert made a face.  "I
think
it's a disgusting habit."
"Would you like me to stop?"  The boy shook his head.  "Good."
Vejita
took another swig of his whiskey.
"Did she introduce you to that, too?"
"More or less.  I'd had similar things on other planets, but it
wasn't
till I got to this planet that I really learned to... enjoy them."
"So you WERE in the bar drinking because of a woman," Gilbert
teased.
Vejita laughed.  "Yeah.  A woman drove me to drink.  And I never
even
had the courtesy to thank her."  They both chuckled.
     "You weren't interested in sex?"
     "No, not really."
     "Are you now?"
The older man shrugged.  "I'd never turn down a good lay.  But I
don't
exactly go looking for it.  It's just never been a big priority for
me."
Gilbert gave him a look.  "You're weird."
     "What about you?"
     "What about me?"
     "Are you interested in sex?"
The boy sat back up and put his arms around Vejita's neck.  "Oh,
yes... I *love* it."
Vejita couldn't resist the opening the boy had given him.  "Show
me,"
he whispered.

Vejita looked over at the boy curled up on the bed next to him.
It
was getting late, and Vejita knew the boy would have to be leaving
before
too long, but he didn't want to part with him just yet.  He reached out
and
played with his soft blonde hair, causing Gilbert to stir.  The young
man
rolled over and looked up at his companion.
"Do you want to go again?" Vejita asked.
     Gilbert smiled.  "Always."
Vejita smiled back, then he sat up and looked down at Gilbert.
After
a brief pause, he moved down and kissed his companion's stomach.  The
boy
sighed happily as Vejita slid further down, and began to give him head.
Vejita was gentle, wanting it to last this time.  The previous time
he'd
gone down on the boy had been rough and rushed.  But now that he'd
sated
his needs, and sensing they had little time left, Vejita wanted to make
every second count.
Unfortunately, this was not to be.  No sooner had the boy start to
become hard, and pant with excitement and lust, then Vejita got a
familiar
feeling in the back of his mind.  //Gods, why *now*?  I thought I had
more
time.//  He got up, grabbed the boy's clothes and tossed them to him.
"Time to go," he told him simply.
     "But, wha-"
     "No questions, remember?  Get out."
The boy looked hurt, but acquiesced; he quickly dressed and headed
for
the door.  When he reached the thresh hold, he turned looked at Vejita,
his
eyes begging for an answer.  Vejita looked back coldly, knowing that
any
hesitation on his part could be disastrous.  With a sad little sigh,
Gilbert turned and left.
