Hombu Dojo Highlights
Kaicho
Ikemiyagi visited our Hombu Dojo in early April (7th – 11th).
We had a great time learning and improving our techniques with Kaicho, during
the training sessions and the karate seminar.
The
recent black belt exams were also conducted by Kaicho Ikemiyagi and Kancho
Wong. It was a nervous time for the students during the exam, but we all learnt
many things during Kaicho’s visit, and look forward on his return!

Many
thanks to Sensei Adam and Sensei Iwan for their help during the black belt
exams, especially during the Sanchen test (ouch!). Here are a few highlights of
April:

Kobudo News
Kaicho Takashi Kinjo (9th
Dan) will visit our Hombu dojo between October 3 to October 10, 2004.
All kobudo students are
encouraged to train for this visit, as Kaicho Takashi Kinjo will conduct senior
belt exams during this time.
Fundraising dinners will
be held to help raise money for this event, so stay tuned for more details!
A Letter from our Chiltern Valley
Dojo (Victoria)
"On 27th
March, Kancho Wong and students from the Hombu Dojo visited Chiltern Valley to
conduct the karate training and our first grading.
With a mixture of
nerves and excitement, 11 students were graded, and the results were:
Yellow I – Dyan Hewitt, Ryan Seymour,
Laura Seymour, Nigel Fisher, Joe Woolridge, Jacqui Garvey, Riannon Garvey, and
Hannah Fursdon.
Yellow II – Patrick Murtagh
Orange II – Bradley Butchers and Amy
Butchers.
After the exams, the
pressure was off, and the students together with their parents relaxed and
enjoyed the rest of the training, which was then followed by a barbecue.
The day with Kancho
Wong, Mrs Wong and our fellow Hombu Dojo students was very successful. We’d
like to thank everyone for their help, support and hard work. Thank you!!!
We are now looking
forward to the next round of gradings and training!"
