| When truth is fear, the world grows blind, shuttering in its existence, refusing to open their minds- Joseph Hamilton Humanities fear of the truth is the over all inspiration for this story. Humankinds ridiculous inhibitions and motives of covering the truth unconsciously are baffling. The idea, the very concept that we will avoid the truth at all costs by relying on the media and other publications for our watered down inquiries. Be are blindly ignorant to anything other then what we are taught this is our tragedy. It has been fifty years since Godzillas birth and what a fifty years it has been. The Leviathan has seen the coming of cell phones, home computers, video games, and modern day tyranny. He has seen the rise and fall of the many economies, and yet he lives on. Surviving past dead chronicles nearly effortlessly. He has been a massive franchise that has spanned enough movies to rival Mr. Bond. When I was a young lad about the age of 17 months, I was blessed with the single chance to pick out my own movie. Upon the store shelfs I found a diamond in the rough of gangster films, cheesy love stories, and westerns. I pulled down a single VHS that housed the image of what would become my hero for the rest of my life. However, my memory doesnt grant me such glorious abilities to actually remember my first screening of the movie, though I own the cassette still. The movie pretty much pioneered my life time obsession, and expanded upon my saurian fandom. Godzilla fought gallantly with a robot to vanquish two gigantic insects, and to me it was the coolest thing ever. I later watched him vanquish a giant insect and a three headed monster with the help of another friend. A spiny shelled dinosaur. This was all but too awesome for me, I could not get enough. He defeated a robotic clone, a giant lobster, a gigantic spider, all in front of my very eyes and disappointment rarely visited me with in what I call the golden oldies. As I got older, though, my need for this action grew. Power Rangers, Super Human Samurai, and Ultraseven sufficed. But I needed more, and more. Soon I got wind of the Heisei genre. At the age of thirteen it was awesome, and I even considered it better then the classics until I got wiser. Godzillas transformation from camp to crusader of evil was unwelcome in my household. I still consider too this day that my favorite Godzilla movies, which are hailed as two of the worst in all Kaiju history, is Godzilla vs. Megalon, and Godzilla vs. Gigan. It was like watching wrestlers battle on giant arenas and it was just sheer bliss. My first Godzilla movie, Gojira tai Megaro (Godzilla vs. Megalon), still stands as my favorite. It holds all that juicy goodness that is my hero from the more innocent times and I needed to reward Godzilla for his constant leadership and fandom in my life What a better time then his birthday? He is now a senior citizen and he deserves it. I campaigned to make the best Godzilla fan fiction I could, and it would be remake of my first Kaiju movie ever So here I am, enlisting the help of one of the best artists I know, writing like a mad man, to try and make a Gamera 3 out of a Godzilla classic And I just hope the fans like my story and designs and do not decide to skip it because of the contenders. Allow yourself to open your mind to my story, as I attempt to not re invent Godzilla but expand upon his universe Join me in the Legacy of Godzilla series ~Agu Click here to read an Article I wrote on one bad day. |
