Chapter Six, Slithering company of the Abyss

Well this passage is blocked. Robert said to the rest of the group as they stood in front of a makeshift door way, crowded by rubble. Even if we wanted to we couldnt move that rock, plus who knows what damage it could do to the rest of the ruins. Claimmor said. Ah bullshit. Marv said as he was knocking on the strange stone walls listening for an echo. Wait wait knock, knock, his hand tapped a certain spot in the wall. I hear a void, I bet if we knock this wall down right here we can get through that passage with no problem or damage too the rest of the ruins. Claimmor stroked his chin curiously. That may just work, but how are we going to knock it out?

Man power. Melissa said smiling. Even our combined strength couldnt push through that doorway, so why not make our own by just ramming into this wall. I mean Marv there was a void, how thick do you think the walls are? Melissa asked. Marv smiled. At this point, by the sound of the echoes, Id be willing to bet no more then six inches thick, though thats just a educated guess. If we ran into this old thing at the same time we might just rock its foundation enough to push it through.

Craig dropped his pack down beside him and rolled up his sleeves a little. Marv cracked his knuckles and prepared his shoulder. Robert moved in between them and the three charged at the wall on the count of three. As the word three echoed through the ruins, as did the sound of three boys grunting right before they crashed into a wall that crumbled like building blocks. They fell through the void screaming as they all slid down a steep ramp, tumbling over each other in a comical entanglement. Claimmor and Melissa peeked into the now 5 and a half foot tall by no more then four foot wide hole in the wall. They saw three young men lying at the bottom of a steep ramp against a gray wall that appeared to be steal, each boy was moaning in pain. As they slowly stood up, each of them brushing dust and dirt off their outfits. Marv complained a little as Claimmor thought for a moment. Claimmor helped Melissa down the ramp and he then hopped down beside her.

The ramp led right to a corridor that was dark and cold, far more musky then the rest of the ruins. I I believe this is some kind of secret passage, and the destroyed doorway was only a distraction meant to throw who ever was stupid enough to search these ruins off. Robert said in a pessimistic sense. Then why did they brick it up genius? Marv asked. Thats the whole point of a secret passage way, to hide it. They bricked it up to keep us from ever discovering it. Wonder what the hell this means?

It means we are going to be the first to completely explore this relic of history, and we might, now,  even unravel the secret of these mysterious ancient ruins. Claimmor said proudly. The group continued this conversation for a few more passes as they wadded down the corridor into what appeared too be an underwater lagoon. Amazing. Claimmor said as he walked into the room. The deep blue waters reflected a strange light that seemed to radiate from elsewhere, a light that was so bright that it rendered their flashlights useless. As the water reflected the light up into the ceiling, it waded tiny light glares against the walls that danced delicately. In the center of the underwater lagoon was a strange island that in center contained a strange statue stand, that contained in the center of it a stone disk.

Claimmor knew this is the final object of desire, the third stone disk. This disk was much larger then the other two, and in the center, all the way from here, they could see what appeared to be a wave painted and engraved into it. This disk was at least more then one and a half foot wide. It was also contained by a dark blue lagoon that appeared to be infinitely deep. The lagoon was nearly a hundred and fifty feet long, making the stone disk in the middle waiting a decent swim to it. It was a circle shape as large walls that reached up to the ceiling that was nearly forty feet up.

The water coiled around the center somewhat like a serpent. Robert would not volunteer, he wasnt stupid. The water looked like it was hundreds of feet deep, though they would learn at its current state it was not. Craig volunteered, no questions asked, he didnt even bother to take his shirt off, however he switched packs to keep from harming the other disk that was in his pack. Robert put one foot into the water and felt its strange warmness. He let his foot touch the bottom when he felt sand, he twisted his foot and pushed it deeper when he felt a strange almost slimy sensation. He instantly pulled his foot back up. He put anther foot in and avoided applying to much pressure so he would not feel that same disgusting sensation on his feet. It reminded him of the icky waters at the local pond as a child.

As he stepped forward, one foot at a time the sand shifted under his feet and he felt the very ground, under nearly three of water under him rise and fall. This is really weird you guys, its like the ground is breathing! He shouted out to the rest of the group who was cheering him on from the sidelines. He continued to step until he reached the island. He was glad to be back on dry land, though he was confused, the water seemed so deep, why was it only about three foot in depth? His thighs werent even wet. He approached the holder as Claimmor nearly bit his lip off in anticipation. Quickly now, get it and bring it back over here so we can all go home! Claimmor shouted to Craig reassuringly.

Craig took a deep breath and lifted the large disc off the stand and stared straight at it. He remembered Indiana Jones and what happened after Harrison Ford removed any treasure from any ancient ruins, usually a booby trap chased him out of the pyramid or something. But nothing happened, no giant stone trying to squash him, no spears impaling him, and no giant ax removing his head from his shoulders. He was relieved.

He noticed the weight of the disk, it didnt weigh much more then the other two, and that concerned him a bit. Though a little confused, he still unzipped his pack and dropped it in. He smiled and gave the rest of the group a thumbs up when all of a sudden the breathing ground stopped. Everything went quiet.

The cheering from the others died out and Craigs face struck a terrified expression. Craig heard a strange sloshing sound fallowed by a frightening sliding noise. His body went stiff and fear over took him. The water around him began to churn and rise at a certain point. He saw the large, tubular form rise up out of the water. Its body was a deep blue and as its deep emerald eyes opened, they focused on him. This was what was breathing. Its body slowly began to rise out of the loop that surrounded the tiny island he stood on. A massive tail rose on the opposite side of the creatures head. It appeared to be a gigantic serpent, with a curved yet sharp head. Craig had to turn his head to the right and up to view the beasts face. Roberts breathing stopped, Marv nearly pissed his pants and Claimmor eyes grew wide. Melissa let out a blood curdling scream as Craig gripped the disk through the pack. He threw it with all his might directly in the direction of the others. It landed on the sand.

As the pack soared the giant serpent struck like a rattle snake. Its massive maw parted revealing its white gums and razor sharp teeth. The disk flew from Craigs hands, his body was snatched up like a insect in the snakes mouth and the others shouted in  terror. The four hundred foot long serpent raised its head into the air. As it did so, the others saw as Craigs kicking legs where ingested by this giant predator this guardian. The team now knew why no natives would enter these cursed ruins.

Run! Claimmor said as he scooped up the pack containing the disk that Craig gave his life for. The young adults and the older man took off running as the snake struck forward, its giant head bigger then an entire elephant. They ran up the ramp with no problem and through the secret passage way. They bolted down the many corridors, the giant serpent fallowing at great speeds, expanding the already wide corridors with its body. Eroding the very foundation of the ruins with each turn of its scales..

Rubble began to fall from the ceiling just as they left the ruins. Roberts heart pounding never noticed the fact he was holding Melissas hand, leading her the best he could. The ruins began to fall in before a giant chunk of it was destroyed by the rising of the giant serpent. It shook its body dust flying off its body as it glared down at its prey. A large chunk of rubble crashed down in front of the four people and three of them escaped its crushing blow, Claimmors legs where smashed under tons and tons of rubble. He cried out in pain, but soon passed out from sheer agony. Marv, Robert, and Melissa knelt down to pull him out but the couldnt. Take the disk and run Claimmor handed the pack to Robert who intended to protect it with his life. The serpent who was staring down at Claimmor now fixated his attention on Robert.

The young man took off running straight for the coast. The serpent ignored the other three and fallowed, its massive body pushed by monster muscles as it slithered past the others like a bullet train. Roberts mind was in a blur, he didnt exactly understand what had just happened, nor did he care. Only his safety mattered right now, and he was running out of island. His stomach dropped as he reached the familiar site the ocean. He had no where else to run, he turned as he saw trees folding under the power of the giant snake. He looked up at it as it rose from the foliage and stared straight down at him.

The serpents towering form was a image of intimidation. Its scales shimmered in the unforgiving sunlight. Its segmented scales shifting for its gigantic muscles. Its forked tongue passed its lips through a crevice in its maw for such an action. The creature flared its neck and let out a deep moaning hiss that was loud enough to wake the dead.

Robert closed his eyes tight, hugging the pack to his chest before he felt a powerful rumble. Something had struck the bottom of the ocean at one point not to far from here. Something had smashed into the bottom to dart itself up out of the water at breakneck speeds, and Robert would soon meet this beast as well.

Something that had traveled incredibly fast to this location

The snake went for a full force strike on Robert, really intent on grabbing the disk before a gigantic jaw dove up out of the waters and latched itself around the monsters neck. The large saurian beast dove straight onto the beach tackling the snake with its mouth hugged around the slithering monsters neck. As the two combatants smashed into the earth they crushed trees and left massive indents into the ground. The snake constricted the body of the other creature, which Robert had almost instantly recognized by its constant Television time Godzilla. He mouthed the words too himself and then watched as the beasts struggled against each other. The snake seemed smaller then Godzilla in with but was more then twice as long as him. It constricted against Godzilla, coiling around him as Godzilla refused to release its death old on the monsters neck.

They struggled like this violently, up turning up foliage and earth alike. They thrashed about on the earth. One attempting to overthrow the other in a massive waltz of survival.

Godzilla staggered to his feet, his gigantic toes sinking into the sand, holding him still. He spread his body out, pulling violently against the serpents muscles. The islanders watched in terror as the two God like creatures battled it out, a prophecy of theirs fulfilled. Godzilla pushed the snakes head back and then turned quickly, throwing it off him. The serpent soared over Marv and Melissa who where trying to pull Claimmor out of the rubble. They watched in amazement as the beast landed on the other side of the island. Casting a massive shadow over the island. Godzilla roared challengingly at the other monster who was regrouping. The serpent dove straight at Godzilla, its mouth open wide and its poisonous fangs ready to inject lethal amounts into its enemy.

But Godzilla was ready, though the snakes force was strong enough to move a mountain he latched his two powerful upper claws around the monsters open jaws and went along for the ride. The diving serpent collided with the water dragging Godzilla several hundreds of yards into the open ocean. As Godzilla was drug along the wake he sent water erupting up around him before the two submerged. Quickly they both broke surface in a face off, the snakes body looping up out of the water in many random areas as Godzilla waded closer to it.

The islanders watched, as did the white haired man. Beta Celt spoke quietly to himself, smiling somewhat. When the blood of the guardian is sacrificed to God, the earth will rise from the sea and the sky shall suppress the oceans. The demons of Earth and Sky shall challenge the God of the sea. His accented voice sound as cunning as the hiss of a snake. And that is when you shall be avenged.

Godzilla snapped at the giant serpent with his powerful jaws and the beast struck at him like a rattle snake. Godzilla dove to the side in this dance of death, dodging strike after strike before finally applying a strong grip on the monsters powerful jaws. He pried the beasts mouth open and from its venom glands it released several gallons of toxins right for Godzillas eyes. But his second eyelids protected him from such an assault. The gray emotionless saurians eyes dripped with venom. He squinted his first set of eyelids and pushed the snake into the water, holding its open mouth below the waves in hopes to drown it.

But the serpents tail coiled up out of the water and snaked its way around Godzillas neck, squeezing tight the gigantic muscles of both creatures pushed together as Godzilla let out a muffled roar for air. With a quick turning motion the snake threw even farther into the open ocean, this time the Leviathan was treading water with its legs and tail to stay above the surface. As Godzilla shook off the fatigue the beast struck again and this time made a direct hit. Fifteen foot long fangs sank deeply into Godzillas neck and refused to release as the snake pushed like a freight train, Godzilla being sunk deeper and deeper in the water as gallons of gallons of venom entered his blood stream.

Godzilla began to feel weak as the monster continued to drive him down. It roared as turrets of bubbles broke surface, all erupting out of his mouth. Godzilla growled trying his hardest to pull the blasted creature off him as his anger mounted. The blue energy incased in his second eyelid as it began to harvest a glow. Energy rushed down his spinal plates right before Godzilla was pushed into the ridged ocean bottom. The snake continued to push its venom into Godzilla, gallon after gallon after gallon. Godzilla almost began to lose consciousness. The giant serpent pumped its last drop of venom into the Leviathans blood stream and broke off, ready to retrieve the stone disks and replace them where they belong, so the horror would not be released on the Earth. Godzilla could feel his consciousness slipping and he had to act fast. The only thing keeping the Leviathan awake was sheer anger.

Venom, blood, and water mixed.

The earth below the massive creature shimmered blue as its spines irradiated with ancient energies. The beasts mouth shot open and its throat aimed directly at the fleeing serpent. With a mighty blast, water was boiled on instant contact as a single stream of blue flame cut up from the depths. The beam collided with the serpents throat and pushed it up out of the water before melting away its scales, flesh, and bone. This severed the blasted beasts head off leaving a smoldering dead torso floating in the water as its head crashed several hundreds of feet away, steaming as it sank below the wake.

Godzilla roared in delight at his victory, now with the guardian dead, he would finally succeed in a ancient mission long since delayed. But, destiny has a way of pushing your conspiracies against you. As Godzillas weakened and poisoned body broke surface with a mighty roar he saw an amazing site through his filtered vision. Robert shouted in fear as the island began to rise. Godzilla by now was pushed far more than a mile away and his conscious was still evading him. He curled his lip as all of a sudden the island grew. Exploding out of the water was what appeared to be an extension on the island, lifting its already existing area higher.

Exploding up out of where the ruins used to be was a large stone pillar. The stone pillar grew higher and higher, pyramiding up like a mountain. The other islands around it, that formed the Setto Triangle, connected with the island as the geology rose. Geology changed, and the ocean lowered for this new island. Godzilla watched in amazement, as did the rest of the islanders as their island grew. Finally, before Godzilla could wade his way back to the island, though he probably would not have made it due to his fading consciousness, he was pushed away yet again. This time by nature. A massive tsunami, the largest one in all existence grew at heights that dwarfed the Leviathan.

The strange shifting of the islands caused this gigantic monster wave that was heading straight for Godzilla. All he could do was brace himself for impact as the gigantic wave seemed to home in on him. Easily a stronger kick than any man made missile or explosive used on him. The force of the gigantic wave was like an explosion. It pushed Godzilla up out of the water and then back in. It threw the Leviathan around like a rag doll before BAM! He hit the ocean floor once, then hit it again. He was thrashed about violently, lifted again and then smeared into the ocean bottom one more time.

Now miles and miles away from Setto. His consciousness left him finally due to the massive amounts of poison and sheer trauma, hundreds of miles from his target. Setto island had become a new geology, the Tri-Setto Island and Beta Celt could not be more interested at the passing events.
