Kiko
AKA
Little Kong
To put it simply, Kiko is the son of King Kong.  Kiko differed from his father in that, while he was a gorilla, he had white hair and black skin.  He also differed in that he was a gentle, kind little being.  While never actually named on film, the name "Kiko" was taken from promotion of Son of Kong.  It is obviously a combination of the first two letters of the words King and Kong.  While Kiko is by and large a forgotten kaiju, due to his quickie cash-in debut, he is a pretty fun one.  He's cute and he has a entertaining personality.  I have a bit of a soft spot in my heart for him.

In what is pretty much his only feature film, 1933's
Son of Kong, the man responsible for bringing King Kong back to New York City, Carl Denham, is broke and needs some quick money to pay for all the damage the giant ape caused.  He ultimatly returns to Skull Island in search of a lost treasure.  On the island, Denham and his companion, Hilda, come across Kiko drowning in quicksand.  Against Denham's better judgement (due to the fact that he's is most likely sick of giant monkeys at this point of his life), they save the creature.  Kiko befriends Denham and Hilda, and protects them from the islands many dangers as they search for the treasure.  However a violent earthquake is tearing Skull Island apart.  The island begins sinking into the ocean, and Kiko holds out his saviors in the palm of his hand as Denham's ship rescues them.  However, the little hero is doomed, as he drowns along with the island and it's many creatures.

A variation on Kiko was seen in
King Kong Lives, the 1986 sequel to the King Kong remake.  Kong's mate, Lady Kong, gives birth to Kiko while Kong defends them from the army.  Kong dies holding the little ape in his arms.  Lady Kong raised him in the wild, in the time afterward.  This version of Kiko didn't have white hair, but rather a dark brown.

During post production of Peter Jackson's second
King Kong remake, he announced he was going to do a remake of Son of Kong as well, which ultimately would have involved Kiko, since he's the title character.  This announcement proved to be an April Fool's joke, and Kiko's film career remains in limbo.

Should another Kong franchise get off the ground, it's very possible the little tike could return.  But that probably won't happen for a
very long time.
