Thank you for joining us and checking out our web site. Here is more information about our over-night pack trip. We have set this trip all riding levels, from the first timer to the most experienced riders. We offer a wide range of options for your family or group. For those who want that Great Adventure of a Lifetime, but now wanting to go 3000 miles out west. We have selected a great location in the Heartland Of Kentucky. We have 1500 acres of private trails, passing by rolling hills and beautiful overlooks bordering Mammoth Cave National Park .
We also have not one but two National Historical Land Marks right here on the property.
The Jessie James Cave where Jessie, Frank, and The Younger Gang used to hide out while running from the Missouri Posies that was formed to track them down after the Civil War.
The Slave Cave where prior to and during the Civil War thousands of slaves used this cave to hide out in , as part of the Underground Railroad. Making their way north by the cover of night and hiding out in caves such as this one, or in cellars and basements of the hundreds of people trying to help them get to the north.
This area has a deep history, and beautiful scenery.
Once we leave the barn area , we ride into the back country of South Central Kentucky. Riding this country just as the pioneers of two hundred years ago trying to get west. Packing everything that we need on horses. From bedrolls to dutch ovens. Once we arrive in the camp taking care of the horses is the first priority. Then the fun starts with setting up camp, getting supper started and practice a little roping. Just to stay in tune. After supper it's time to relax and pull up a seat around the camp fire. Smell that fresh hot coffee simmering over an open fire?
Then laugh and listen to the Wranglers stories of ranch life, horse, cattle and the life style that they have chosen. Hear the songs and music of the American West, how each one helped pioneers of the olden days to pass the time as they rode down the trail.
If you haven't heard of Cowboy poetery then here is your chance to.
Hear how while on the trail cowboys would entertain each other with stories and poems. Set to a rhyme these stories could be told over and over and still be as funny .
When and where this tration started is unknown. But is still common practice of today's American Cowboy. Several famous songs were written as peoms, then later put to music and made very popular songs. Like "Tyin Knots In The Devil's Tail". Today Cowboys from all over the country have been putting on Cowboy Poetry gatherings in Elko Nevada.
