A Forbidden Past - Chapter 9
Double Trouble
Stacie awoke to find herself in a bedroom, but it was not one in her house. "Ugh," she said as she still felt the pain on her neck, "Where am I?" she thought to herself. She looked around the room to see posters of N*Sync, Britney Spears, and Titanic. "Man, am I dreaming?" she thought to herself. She could hear noises on the otherside of the closed door. It sounded like someone was cooking. She looked out the window to see she was on the same street she lived on. "What the hell?" she said.
"Stacie? Are you awake?" someone yelled up to her.
"Huh? Who is that?" she said to herself. Just then Heather came running upstairs. "WHAT THE HELL?" Stacie yelled as she backed away from Heather.
"Hey! I brought you here. I woke up in the forest and was on my way home when I saw that guy standing on you," Heather said. "I waited until he left and carried you to my house."
"You carried me here? How and more importantly, why?" asked Stacie.
"Well, you saved me from him almost killing me. So, I thought I'd better get you out of the open. How did I get you here? Well I sorta borrowed your wheel-barrow. I hope you don't mind."
"No I don't. Ummm, thanks," said Stacie.
"No problem. One favor deserves another," Heather said with a small smile on her face. "Hey umm, Stacie?"
"Yea?"
"Who was he? He almost killed both of us! Its not everyday that happens," she said rubbing her neck which was still very red.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," said Stacie, gazing out the window.
"Why not? Do you know who he is? Why did he try to kill you and more importantly kill me?" asked Heather.
"I really don't think you'd believe me if I told you," she said.
"What? Is he an ex-boyfriend of yours?" she laughed.
"Far from it," replied Stacie. "Look, I appreciate you looking after me and all, but I have to talk to Trunks about what happened. Thanks though." Stacie said as she started walking down the stairs.
"No problem," Heather said as she stayed standing in her bedroom, rubbing her neck. "No problem at all," as the front door closed.
Stacie was at her house in less than a minute. She charged through the front door screaming. "TRUNKS! WAKE UP! WE HAVE A SERIOUS ISSUE TO TALK ABOUT!" she said. She flung the door to the back room open, to see nobody there. "TRUNKS?" she yelled as her voice echoed through the house. She began to panic as she couldn't find her saiyajin friend anywhere. "Trunks, where are you?" cried Stacie as she soon realized she was alone in the house. "You didn't leave me already, did you?" She put her shoes back on and went around to the back of her house. She walked towards the crater slowly, hoping Trunks time machine was still there. To her relief, it was, and Trunks was repairing it. "GEEZUS! I THOUGHT YOU LEFT ME!" she yelled at him.
"Stacie! Where have you been?" he said, jumping out of the crater. He hugged her tightly. "What happened to your neck? Its all bruised!" he said as he looked around her neck.
"That's what I need to talk to you about. You are never going to believe who left these marks on my neck."
"Was it Heather?" he said beginning to get angry.
"No, it was.."
"I'm going to hurt whoever did this to you!" he said as he clenched his fists.
"Trunks! Let me finish!" she cried.
"Sorry," he said, relaxing a bit.
"I was walking through the forest with my wallet, when one of the androids payed me a visit."
"WHAT? Which one?"
"It was #17. Heather and her friends came up just after he first appeared. They thought I'd made a friend, until he knocked me to the ground. He then attacked Heather, practically killing her. Her neck is a lot worse than mine. I took his bandana away to stop him from hurting Heather, when he chased me into the backyard, and stood on my neck until I passed out," she said crying.
"You... you saved Heather?" he said, in a bit of shock.
"Yea, as much as I hate her, I couldn't just let her die!" she said hugging Trunks.
"But, how? How is #17 here?" asked Trunks. "I really don't know. First you, and now another Dragon Ball character. This is too weird!"
"Hey! Is it possible that the same magnetic storm which messed up my time machine, activated the android?" he asked.
"It makes sense. But if the android was reactivated..." she paused.
"Then it was never defeated back in my time!" he said.
"Oh no! He must of destroyed the school then!"
"Was #18 there as well?"
"I didn't see her, but I didn't even expect to see #17, so it is possible that she is somewhere around," Stacie said. "Hey, you should let me wash those clothes. You got them quite dirty," she said as she eyed the once white tank top now covered in dark grease spots.
"Sounds like a good idea. Let me just grab one more thing." He went back into his time machine and came out with his sword and sheath attached to his back. Trunks walked into the house with Stacie at his side, looking for any movement around them. Little did they know, Juunanagou was high in the sky, watching them from above.
They entered the house together. Stacie went downstairs to clean Trunks dirty tank top. He put his sword down and grabbed his orange hawaiian shirt off the floor in the back room where he fell asleep earlier and followed Stacie downstairs. "Okay, if you want me to clean the shirt, you're going to have to take it off," she said with a smile. Stacie turned around as he quickly took the tank top off and put on the hawaiian shirt, leaving it unbuttoned. He tossed the dirty shirt to Stacie as she threw it, with some of her dirty clothes, into the washing machine. She turned around, not knowing what Trunks was wearing, and was a little surprised. He saw her practically drooling and winked at her. She went bright red as she quickly looked to the floor. Trunks just laughed.
"You are so silly," he chuckled. He grabbed her hand and brought her upstairs. "So, what are we going to do for dinner?" he asked as his stomach grumbled.
"Well, the only meal I can cook I made last night. So, we could go out to eat in town?" she suggested.
"Sounds like a plan!" he said as he rubbed his stomach.
"Well, as much as I enjoy it, you are going to have to button your shirt up if we are going somewhere in public! I have enough trouble fighting with Heather over you, I really don't want to have to fight off the whole town!" she laughed. Trunks blushed as he buttoned the orange shirt up. Stacie ran upstairs to freshen up, fix her hair and grab her purse. She came back down and left out the front door with Trunks.
"Anywhere in particular you want to eat?" Stacie asked Trunks.
"Hmm, I guess anywhere that has a lot of food!" Trunks laughed.
They found the usual burger joint where everyone in town went. They ordered their food and sat down to eat. Trunks ate at an amazing speed, and received a lot of odd looks. "Wow, that was good," he said. "Not as good as your meal though," he smiled. They payed for the food and quickly left the restaurant. They had started to walk down the street when something occured to Stacie.
"AH DAMNIT! I left my purse hanging on the back of the chair in the restaurant. I've got to go get it."
"Don't worry, Stace. I'll go and get it. Last time you went to go get your wallet, you remember what happened," Trunks said as he ran back to the restaurant.
"Cya in a few minutes," she said. Stacie stood looking in at the movie rental store. A lot of people were walking infront and behind her as she tried to watch the televisions in the store. "Geez! Have a little respect for people, and not walk infront of them?" she yelled at a couple people walking by. She was watching an advertisement on the television in the store when a person walked right into her, knocking her to the ground.
"HEY?! WATCH WHERE YOU ARE GOING!" she yelled as she brushed herself off. The lady who knocked her over kept walking off down the street. "Hey you stupid bitch!" she yelled at the woman. The lady stopped. "Yea, I'm talking to you! Where are your manners? The least you could do was apologize if you didn't even see if I was alright! What is your problem?" she yelled. The lady, who had stopped, started to turn around to face Stacie. Stacie gasped as she realized who had bumped into her. "OOHHHH SHIT! TRUNKS!" she yelled as #18 glared at her. Juuhachigou looked at Stacie's sleeve and noticed the Capsule Corp. logo and advanced slowly on Stacie. Stacie backed slowly down the street and bumped into #17. Stacie shrieked as he held her arms behind her back. "LET ME GO!" she yelled as a small crowd had gathered around them. #18 slowly walked up to Stacie and looked into her eyes.
"Let her go," someone in the crowd said as they walked in to help her. The twin androids looked at each other. #17 pushed Stacie into #18 who grabbed a hold of her. #17 walked up to one of the brave crowd members who challenged him. "What, you some kind of tough guy?" smirked the crowd member. Juunanagou just laughed. The guy threw a punch at #17 who easily dodged out of the way. #17 grabbed the man's vulnerable arm, and snapped it in two. The crowd gasped as the guy's arm lay twisted and bloody. #17 kicked the man in the stomach and sent him flying into a parked car. The group around the androids and Stacie screamed, and scattered.
"TRUN..." she started to scream but Juunanagou covered her mouth.
"Now, now, now. You won't be calling for any help," #17 said.
"I think her saiyajin friend is coming back soon, so what are we going to do with her?" #18 asked. Stacie bit into #17's hand to try and get away. He let go of her and Stacie began to run towards the restaurant. #18 grabbed her arm as she ran away and pulled her back. "That wasn't a smart thing to do," she laughed. She lifted Stacie off of the ground from underneath her arms. Stacie struggled to get away, but she couldn't. #18 simply laughed as she threw Stacie into the window of the video store, sending shattered glass everywhere. She landed on the small display as people in the store started screaming. The androids took off leaving Stacie unconcious in the store window. The crowd which had earlier scattered, now regathered around Stacie, and the other injured stranger. Trunks saw all the people and sprinted to the scene.
"STACIE!" he said as he looked in the broken window. He jumped onto the display and picked Stacie up in his arms. "Stacie, talk to me! Stacie!" he said trying to get any sign of life. She coughed a bit as she was still badly hurt. "Don't worry! I'll take you back to the house and take good care of you." He carried her in his arms as they walked back to her house. He took her upstairs and put her into her bed. He grabbed a wet cloth from the bathroom and cleaned up her cuts. She seemed to be dreaming and she was tossing and turning in her bed.
"No... mmm.. no leave me alone.. ow.. stop it.. your hurting me.. mmm Trunks.... help me........ Trunks.... ow it hurts... AAAHHH!" she yelled as she woke up panting.
"Stacie! What happened? I found you in the window at the video store! Who did this to you? Was it #17 again?"
"Yes, and #18. She bumped into me, and I kind of let a couple words slip which made her really mad," she said holding her head in her hands. "Why do they keep attacking me? What did I do to them?" she cried.
"I really don't know. Maybe because they know you are associated with me, so they think it is a good way to get me or maybe something else," he said as he continued to wipe her cuts.
"Thanks for taking care of me, Trunks," she smiled. "I have a head ache, so I think I'm going to lay down and rest for the rest of the evening." She put her head back down on the pillow and closed her eyes.
"Goodnight, Stacie," he said as he kissed her on the forehead and closed the door as he left her in the bedroom.
