A Forbidden Past - Chapter 7
After The Storm

Stacie awoke to hear the sounds of birds chirping outside. "Geez, what time is it?" she thought to herself. She looked at her watch to see it was only 8am. She sat up in bed to see Trunks still fast asleep. She slowly crawled out of bed and carefully over Trunks trying her best not to wake him. "AAH!" Stacie screamed as Trunks hands quickly moved and landed on her waist. "DON'T DO THAT! YOU SCARED ME HALF TO DEATH!" she said smacking his arms.

Trunks laughed. "I scared you! Hey, what time is it?" he asked.

"It's only about 8, so we still have plenty of time to get to school," she said with a huge smile.

"Oh, we wouldn't want to miss school now would we?" he said sarcastically grinning at Stacie. Stacie didn't seem to pleased by that comment, she enjoyed school, even though she only had one friend now. "Hey, lighten up! It was only a joke," he said sitting up in bed as Stacie still sat on his legs. He put his hands on her shoulders and slowly traced down her arms until he was holding her hands. She shivered as she still hadn't become used to the fact someone was touching her. He smiled as they gazed deep into each others eyes. "Hey come on, we should get ready for school," he said as he attempted to get out of the bed.

"Well, who cares if we are a couple minutes late," she said. She pushed Trunks back down onto the bed as the lied on top of him and started kissing his face and neck. Trunks smiled as Stacie rested her head on his chest. Neither of them wanted to move as they were both quite comfortable. Stacie rubbed her hand up and down his muscular arms as Trunks lay on the bed still holding her other hand. "I wish this moment would never end," sighed Stacie as she looked at Trunks. Unfortunately it did, and as usual, the phone rang. "Aww, man!" Stacie said as she jumped off the bed and ran upstairs to grab the phone.

"Hello?" she answered.

"Hi, Stacie, its mom. Are you ok?" she asked frantically.

"Uh, yea I'm fine, why?".

"The house is still in one piece?"

"Well, there's a broken basement window, thats all I've seen so far, I just woke up."

"What were you doing in the basement?" her mother asked.

"Uhhhhhhhh," Stacie paused. "I was scared, plus there were tornado watches and warnings so I thought I'd be safer in the spare bedroom."

"Oh. The storm has been all over the news out here." "What time is it out there?" Stacie asked.

"Its only 5 am, but I haven't been able to sleep. They were showing pictures of some of the tornadoes on the television out here, I was worried sick about you. So, everything is alright?" her mom asked as Trunks came upstairs.

"Hey, who is it?" Trunks whispered.

"What was that noise?" her mother demanded.

"Uhhhhhh," she said waving her arms frantically at Trunks. "I was just turning on the television to see if we had power, and we do."

"Oh, well I guess I better let you get ready for school. Everything is going really well out here. The people really like my fashions so I have to stay a week longer okay, honey?"

"Oh, another week?" Stacie said jumping for joy inside. Trunks smiled at Stacie as she was desperately trying to contain her excitement.

"Yes, I know how you hate being left alone, but don't worry you can manage. I gotta go, I have a meeting at 6 so I need to get ready. Bye!" her mom said.

"Bye!" Stacie said as she hung up the phone. She walked over to Trunks and traced her fingers across his well defined abs. "I'm home alone for another whole week, how am I going to manage?" she said, acting like a real ditz.

Trunks laughed as Stacie's fingers tickled him. "I don't know, I guess I'm going to have to stay around and watch over you!"

"Oh, darn," Stacie said as she grinned at Trunks. She kissed her finger and touched his lips. "Come on, we should get ready for school." She started heading towards the stairs as Trunks grabbed her hand and pulled her back into his arms. He bent over and kissed her. For Stacie, the kissed seemed to last forever as he carried her upstairs still kissing. Stacie withdrew from the kiss and as she walked towards the shower, she pulled the elastic on his plaid pants and snapped them back.

"HEY?!" yelled Trunks as he chased after Stacie as she shrieked running towards the bathroom. Stacie quickly went in and out of the shower while Trunks followed. They were soon walking through the forest in the backyard of Stacie's house, walking over branches and twigs which fell in the storm last night.

"Wow, the storm was a lot worse than I thought," she said stumbling over branches. As they approached the school, they could hear a lot of people yelling. "What on earth is going on?" wondered Stacie. They rounded to corner and looked at what was left of the school.

"What the hell?" asked Trunks. Pieces of debris were scattered everywhere. Windows were smashed and part of the second floor had been completely removed.

"I guess a tornado went right through the school!" Stacie said. All students were required to meet in the field for an important announcement. Stacie and Trunks walked over and stood at the back of the crowd while Heather and her friends snuck in right beside Trunks. The principal stood infront of the crowd with a loudspeaker and told the students the news.

"As you can see, the school is in no condition for students to walk in the hallways or in the classrooms. Until further notice, all classes are cancelled." With that being said, the students cheered.

"Wow, no class, no parents at home, no work, a cute guy, could it get any better?" Stacie thought to herself.

"Wow, Trunks! You must feel lucky. You've only been at the school for one day and classes are cancelled!" Heather said trying to make a recovery after yesterday's mishap.

"Yea I guess so," he said, trying to ignore her. He picked up Stacie's hand and started walking in the other direction. Heather and her friends quickly followed, desperate to pull Trunks away from Stacie. Heather walked beside Trunks, hoping he'd comment.

"What do you want?" he asked Heather.

"Oh me? Nothing! I'm just walking home," she said with a smile. Trunks walked a bit faster, still holding Stacie's hand tightly. Heather was becoming frustrated. "Hey Trunks, you know your little friend there watches cartoons? How immature is that?" Heather laughed while Trunks payed no attention to the comments. "She's a loser! How do you think everyone else pictures you if you hang around with a loser like her?" Stacie was becoming obviously upset as she started to sniff, holding back tears. "She's going to be a failure. No one can ever get anywhere in life unless you have friends, and she has none! Don't you want to be popular, Trunks? Just hang around with me and you can be!" she said. Trunks stopped while Stacie kept walking. Their hands fell apart as the distance between them grew. Stacie stopped and looked at Trunks.

"Trunks! Don't listen to her! Please!" Stacie said as the tears started to roll down her face. Trunks kept his arms at his side as he glared at Stacie, breathing heavily. Heather and her friends were still standing behind Trunks laughing as they had managed to turn Trunks against Stacie. Trunks turned around and looked at Heather and her friends. Stacie came running over and stood between Trunks and Heather. "Trunks, no!" she cried with her arms out. She looked deep into his eyes while Heather and her friends continued laughing.

"Get out of his way, loser! Can't you see he doesn't want to be friends with you anymore?" Heather laughed pulling Stacie down by her hair. Trunks looked down at Stacie as she sat sobbing on the ground. Stacie slowly stood up and again looked into Trunks eyes. All the noise that was going on around Stacie, Trunks, Heather and her friends disappeared. Trunks continued to stare straight ahead.

"Trunks? Are you okay?" asked Stacie. Trunks didn't respond. The wind blew by as everyone standing around Trunks was motionless. His once blue eyes flashed, as they turned green.

"WHAT THE F*CK WAS THAT?!" screamed Heather, completely freaked out by what she just saw.

"No Trunks, don't do it," Stacie said quietly. She knew Trunks was extremely pissed off and was going to go super saiyajin to scare Heather and her friends.

"Don't do what? What is he doing?" asked Heather. Trunks continued to stare straight ahead with his now green eyes. "Hey, you stupid bitch, what'd you do to him?" demanded Heather as she pushed Stacie, knocking her into Trunks and almost to the ground. Trunks bent over and grabbed Stacie before she fell to the ground.

"Thanks," she said wiping the tears from her face. Trunks smiled at Stacie.

"What do you see in her? She's worthless!" said Heather. This pissed Trunks off even more as he built up power, making his hair fly up. "What the hell is going on?" Heather yelled as her friends had all run away.

"NO TRUNKS! STOP IT! YOU PROMISED ME YOU WOULDN'T DO IT!" Stacie screamed. With that being said, Trunks relaxed. His hair fell back down and his eyes returned to its normal blue colour.

"Okay, you stupid bitch, what the hell is going on?!" Heather demanded.

"Its none of your business. Just leave us alone," Stacie said as she and Trunks started to walk away again.

"None of my business?" Heather said. She grabbed Stacie by the shoulder and spun her around. "Explain to me what the hell just happened!"

"I don't have to tell you anything," Stacie smiled as she began to walk away again. Heather pulled Stacie around again and this time slapped her across the face. Stacie wiped her mouth off as a bit of blood dribbled out.

"That's for my nose, and this is for embarrassing me infront of the class!" she yelled as she went to punch Stacie in the face. Stacie put her hand up and stopped Heather before she could make contact. Heather struggled with Stacie's hand, while with almost no effort, Stacie brought Heather's hand down, while still holding on tightly. Heather took a swing at Stacie with her other hand, but again, was blocked. "Let go of me you stupid bitch!" Heather screamed while fighting to get out of Stacie's grip. Stacie held Heather's wrists down, fully extended as Stacie glared at Heather, who was beginning to panic. She struggled with her arms as she desperately tried to free herself. "You're a psycho! Let me go, NOW!" she demanded. Trunks stood off in the distance a bit, not knowing what to expect from the usually calm girl.

"AAH!" Stacie screamed as she Heather had managed to dig her nails into her arms. Stacie tightened her grip on Heather. She took a step back and with all her might, flipped Heather up over her head and onto her back, so Heather lay lying on the wet grass. Stacie wiped the hair from her face as she breathed heavily. Heather started to cry as she lie defeated on the field. "Come on, Trunks. Let's go home," Stacie said, grabbing his hand as they continued the walk home. Trunks was quite surprised by the power given off by the usually quiet girl.

"Hey Stacie, where did you learn to do that?" he asked.

"Oh the flip thing? That was something I learned in martial arts class."

"Wow, I'm impressed," Trunks said with a smile. Stacie blushed. "So what are we going to do with the whole week or so off?"

"I don't know. I didn't really expect this. I guess we will decide on impulse," she said as they entered the forest.

"On impulse, eh?" Trunks said with a smile. "Like this?" he said as he grabbed her by the waist, and flew fast and high up into the sky.

"WHOA!" Stacie screamed, not expecting Trunks to pick her up. "What if someone saw us? What are they going to say?"

"Oh, I don't care anymore. Heather and her friends already saw my eyes change colours, so they must know something is odd about me," he laughed as they flew over the land below.

"So, where exactly are we going?" asked Stacie.

"I don't know. I guess we'll decide on impulse," he grinned. They flew high above the high school to see exactly how bad the damage was.

"Hey, why is the damage in big circles? If it was a tornado, it should be in a more or less straight line across the school, shouldn't it? And shouldn't there be damage to the trees and other buildings surrounding the school?" Stacie asked.

"I think your right. What could of caused damage like that?" Trunks said as they hovered over the damaged school.

"Trunks, I don't feel safe. Can we go back now?" asked Stacie.

"Yea, that sounds like a good idea," Trunks said as he flew away from the school, still looking back at the mysterious circles. They arrived over Stacie's house. Trunks quickly scanned the area to make sure there was no one around and quickly dropped back to the Earth, touching the ground lightly. Stacie entered the house followed by Trunks. They walked into the kitchen as Stacie went into the fridge for a drink. She grabbed a drink for Trunks and herself and sat on the counter top.

"What do you think caused that damage at the highschool? I honestly don't think it was a tornado," Stacie said.

"I don't know, it could of been almost anything," he said as he leaned against the counter.

"So, now that we've started acting on impulse, what are we going to do for the rest of the day?" she asked.

"I don't know, I've done my impulse decision, its your turn to do one!"

"Well, lets see how much money I have. Hey? Aww crap! My wallet must of fallen out in the school yard. I've got to go back and get it," sighed Stacie, thinking she might encounter Heather again.

"You want me to come with you, or better yet, let me go and get it?" Trunks said as he took off the bright orange hawaiian shirt.

"No I should be okay. I don't think Heather will bug me. You can stay here and relax." Trunks went into the back room, turned on the television, and lied on the couch. Stacie grabbed her keys and went out the back patio door, blowing Trunks a kiss goodbye. Stacie jogged into the forest and quickly jumped over and around the fallen branches. She heard the noise of leaves moving above her head but thought nothing of it. She arrived at the school to see only a few police officers and firefighters looking around the outside. She went to the spot where her and Heather had their encounter and found her wallet in a pile of clovers. She picked up her wallet and in her hand she also picked up a four-leafed clover. "Hey! Maybe my luck will get even better than it has been now!"

She excitedly ran off back into the forest and towards her house. Again, the leaves were rustling above her head, but louder than before. "What the hell?" she said as she continued to walk looking upwards. "HEY? Who is that up there?" she said, seeing a figure jumping from branch to branch above her head. "TRUNKS? Is that you?" she yelled up at the shadowy figure. She wasn't paying attention where she was going and she tripped over a large branch. To support herself from falling, she instictively put her hands out. She forgot about her left wrist as she fell on it again. She landed in a pile of mud formed from the rain last night. "I hope you're happy!" she yelled up at the figure who had stopped over her. She could hear the figure laughing above her as she stood up covered in mud. "Its not funny! If you think its so funny, come down here and take me on face to face!" she shouted. The figure crouched on the branch and remained motionless for a moment. Stacie shruged and continued walking through the forest. She felt the figure drop to the ground behind her. Still curious as to who it was, she slowly turned around and found her face to be not even 2 inches away from the face of Android #17.
