A Forbidden Past - Chapter 5
Heather's Plan
"I guess I could say you are a relative of mine from the other side of the country?" suggested Stacie.
"That might work. Do many people watch this Dragon Ball series as much as you do?" Trunks asked.
"Some people do, but only the really hardcore fans have bought episodes that haven't been aired on TV yet, which include you."
"Oh, so its not very likely that people will know me as much as you do?"
"Probably not. Maybe a few people who are as obsessed as me might recognize you, but they might not actually believe it is you."
"Okay, does your school have a lot of people?" asked Trunks
"Not really, only about 1000."
"Ah okay."
They arrived at the school about 30 minutes before first class and went to the main office to register Trunks for classes. Stacie gave Trunks all the information he needed such as address, phone number, etc. and then headed over to the guidance office to sign up for his classes. Within 15 minutes, he was all ready to go. He followed Stacie down the hallway to where her locker was. The hallways were starting to fill up with people as Trunks was receiving a couple odd looks from his hair colour. They arrived at Stacie's locker and Trunks was again, surprised by the number of pictures of himself in her locker.
"Wow!" he said as he started to blush.
"Oh shit! I guess I should take these down incase some people start to wonder where you are from." She pulled down all the pictures and placed them on the back of the shelf in her locker.
"I'm just going to go to the bathroom over there so I'll be back in like 2 minutes." Trunks went around the corner and into the bathroom, passing Heather on the way down the hall.
"WOW! WHO IS HE?" she said out loud as she stared at Trunks until he went into the bathroom. Heather kept walking down the hall and saw Stacie at her locker. "Hey bitch!" she laughed. Then she looked at Stacie's jacket and noticed the Capsule Corp. logo. "Hey? I thought I cut that off yesterday! How did you get it back on and in perfect condition?" she said frustrated.
"That's my little secret," said Stacie with an evil grin on her face.
"Well, I'm just going to have to cut this one off again!" laughed Heather as she dug through her purse for the pair of scissors. As she went in to her purse, Trunks came around the corner.
"Hey!" he said as he came up to Stacie and Heather.
"Wow! The new cute guy is talking to me!" said Heather as she ran her fingers through her hair. Stacie snickered knowing Trunks wasn't talking to her at all.
"Heya," said Stacie as she winked at him. Stacie closed her locker.
"Why are you saying 'hi' to him? He wouldn't want to be friends with a loser like you!" As Heather finished saying that, Trunks walked by, put his arm around Stacie's shoulder, and walked down the hallway with her. "Okay, what the hell is wrong with this picture?" Heather thought to herself, as Trunks completely ignored her, and went straight to Stacie. Heather was extremely mad. She had to have the new guy all to herself and was completely disgusted that he had made friends with Stacie of all people. Just then the bell rang. "Shit, I'm late for class!" said Heather as she took off sprinting down the hall.
Stacie and Trunks went through the 2 morning classes, biology and math with no problems at all. Stacie was happy because Trunks sat beside her in both classes. The students were shocked that Stacie had made a friend. During lunch time, Heather had gathered up her friends and were plotting against Stacie to take the new guy away from her. "This guy deserves someone way better than Stacie. Someone nice, caring, and never hurts anyone... someone like me!" said Heather with an evil smile on her face.
Chemistry class was next. Again, Stacie and Trunks sat down beside each other, since there were always available seats around Stacie. Heather entered the class with her group of friends. She immediately spotted Trunks and made sure to take a seat right infront of him. Stacie knew Heather was up to something, and she had a good feeling it invovled Trunks.
"Hi, you're the new guy aren't you? My name is Heather!"
"Umm, hi I'm Trunks."
"Trunks? Wow thats a cool name! So where do you live?"
"I'm actually staying with Stacie," he said.
"Oh," Heather said. She really didn't want to hear that. "I live just up the street from Stacie if you ever want to come visit me!"
"Thanks," he said. Then he started talking to Stacie, ignoring Heather. Heather turned around, completely disgusted. "Every guy usually falls for me within about 5 minutes. This kid has a problem," she thought to herself. She made a plan with her friends who sat at either side of her. On the way home from school, they would ambush Stacie and Trunks in the bush and Heather would try and take Trunks away.
Chemistry ended and Stacie now had gym. "Okay, I have gym now. You can go back to my house if you want, I'll give you the key," she said as she reached into her pocket to grab the keys.
"No, its ok. I'll wait for you," he said with a smile.
"Aww thanks! Okay, I gotta go before I'm late for class! Cya!" as she ran down the hall.
They were no longer working on martial arts in gym, much to Heather's relief. The class was now learning gymnastics. Stacie also excelled in gymnastics, because of her training in martial arts. Today, the class wasn't as mean to Stacie after her outburst on Friday. Heather was being especially nice to Stacie because she knew it was a way she could get closer to Trunks.
"Wow! What an awesome flip, Stacie!" was a comment commonly heard from Heather.
"Uh, thanks?" Stacie said, slightly confused. Gym class went extremely fast and soon Stacie was on her way home with Trunks at her side. The walked the back route, through the forest since it saved 5 minutes of walking around the woods. As they walked, a familiar voice was calling out from behind.
"Trunks! Hey Trunks!" yelled Heather as she came running up from behind. Stacie kept walking, not wanting to talk to Heather. Trunks stopped and turned around so he didn't seem rude. As soon as Trunks turned around, Heather's friends grabbed Stacie, covered her mouth, and pulled her off into the woods.
"HEY! How are you big guy?" said Heather, knowing Stacie was nowhere around.
"Umm, good."
"Is this the way you are always going to walk home? I always walk this way, its much faster than walking around the front of the houses," she said trying to make any conversation to keep him around.
"Well, this is my first day of school so I'm just going where Stacie shows me."
"Where is she then?" said Heather playing dumb.
"Huh?" Trunks turned around not seeing Stacie anywhere. "STACIE? WHERE'D YOU GO?" he yelled, hoping she'd respond, but she didn't.
"Oh, what type of friend abandons you on your first day walking home? Doesn't sound very nice if you ask me," said Heather as she slowly walked towards Trunks.
"I'm sure she has a valid excuse," Trunks said turning around, looking for any trace of Stacie.
"Hey, you have that Capsule Corp. logo on your jacket just like Stacie does. What is it exactly?" Heather asked, desperate to keep Trunks in the woods with her as long as possible.
"Oh that? Its my mom's company. It specializes in machinary and stuff."
"Oh, does Stacie work there with you?" she said as she got closer and closer to Trunks.
"Nope," said Trunks, noticing how close Heather was getting. He started backing away, but got stopped up against a tree.
"Now's my chance!" thought Heather. She walked right up to him, put her hands on his shoulders, and pulled herself up to kiss him on the lips.
Stacie, strugling with the other girls, managed to free herself with a couple of kicks and punches and started heading back to where she had left Trunks and Heather. She got there just as Heather's lips touched his. Stacie felt crushed. Heather looked over during the kiss and winked at Stacie. Trunks put his hands on Heather's waist and pushed her away. "What is your problem?" asked Trunks as he looked at Heather. "Come on Stacie, lets go home."
Trunks turned around to see Stacie still a little upset. Trunks walked up to her and put his arms around her waist as they continued their walk through the forest. The only thing Stacie heard as they were leaving was Heather yelling at her friends. Stacie, feeling overjoyed with Trunks as her friend, brought her body closer to his, and kept walking.
