A Forbidden Past - Chapter 18
Memories Forever

Stacie woke up first as she sat up on the ground. "Man, what happened?" she said as she held her head in her hands. She looked around her to see two pictures sitting on the ground, as well as Heather. "Man, I feel like I just got hit by a truck."

Heather woke up next and looked at Stacie. "Was I just dreaming, or did all of that just happen?" she asked.

"I'm not sure. I was thinking the same thing." Stacie crawled over and picked up the pictures, which both had Trunks in them.

"It couldn't of been a dream, if we both remember it and if the pictures are still here."

Stacie turned around and looked for any sign of Trunks. "He is gone. His time machine isn't in... hey.. where's the crater?" Stacie asked as she looked around frantically.

"Its gone! How?" Heather asked as she looked around.

"I'm not sure, but if we both remember, it must of happened." Stacie stood up and walked over to Heather, holding her hand out. Heather pulled herself up, and brushed the dirt off of her clothes.

"What day is it?" Heather asked.

"I think its Sunday afternoon," Stacie said as she looked at her watch. "Oh crap! My mom is coming home today! She's going to flip when she see's the conditon of the house!" Stacie said as she ran towards the house. Stacie ran inside, followed by Heather.

"That car isn't in the driveway anymore!" Heather said as she looked outside.

"This is too weird. The window's aren't broken in the basement, and everything seems to be how it was before Trunks got here. But why do we still remember everything?"

"I don't know.... I don't understand..." Heather said. She followed Stacie upstairs to her bedroom.

"All of my Dragon Ball Z stuff is still here, and it looks exactly how I left it. He must of changed the past already."

"Do.. do you think he still remembers us?" Heather asked.

"I hope so."

There was a loud bang from downstairs followed by some yelling. "STACIE! I'M HOME!" she heard her mom yell.

"MOM!" Stacie yelled as she sprinted downstairs.

"Hi! Oh I missed you!" her mom said as she hugged her daughter.

"Oh mom, this is Heather."

"Nice to meet you," Heather said to Stacie's mom.

Stacie's mom smiled, but wasn't sure what to say now that Stacie had a friend. "How was school this week?"

"Uh, I didn't go?" Stacie told her mom.

"Why not?" her mom asked, sounding mad.

"Because of the storms? You called me and talked to me about it!" she told her mom.

"What are you talking about? I didn't call you once," Stacie's mom paused. "Are you on drugs?" she asked Stacie, looking at Heather.

"No mom. Nevermind."

"Alright. I'm going to take a nap. I feel extremely jet lagged. I think Heather should go home, and you'll see her tomorrow at school."

"Okay, bye Stacie," Heather said as she left out the door.

"Bye!"

Stacie went upstairs to her bedroom and looked at the pictures again. She held them tight in her hands and sighed. The rest of the evening went fairly fast for Stacie, and it was soon time for bed. Around 10, her phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hi Stacie, its Heather. Want to walk to school together tomorrow?" she asked.

"Sure! I'll see you at about 8:30?"

"Sounds good. Who knows, maybe we'll see Trunks at school!" Heather laughed.

"Hah! That'd be nice. I'm going to go to bed so I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay! Bye!"

Stacie hung up the phone and crawled into bed, still holding the picture of her and Trunks.

The next morning, Stacie and Heather walked to school through the forest, and talked about the events of the last week. They arrived at the school, and found it to be in perfect condition.

"This is too strange," Stacie said to Heather.

"Heather! What are you doing with her?" they heard a voice call out from behind them.

"Huh? Angela!" Heather said as she turned around. "You're alive!"

"Uh, of course I'm alive."

"Oh, umm yea," Heather said as she looked at Stacie.

"So, why you hanging around this loser?" Angela asked.

"Uh, she's my friend?"

"Hah! That's a good one Heather!" Angela laughed. Heather's facial expression failed to change as Angela laughed. "Oh, you were serious."

"Yes, I was. Incase you don't know, this is Stacie. She's my friend and she's going to be hanging around with us, whether you like it or not."

Angela jerked her head back and looked at Stacie. Stacie smiled and put her hand out to be friendly. Angela looked at Stacie's hand as if it was covered in disease. She hestitantly extended her hand out, and shook hands with Stacie. The bell rang as the three girls stood in the hallway.

Stacie ran down the hall to her first class and took her seat in her desk. She looked to her side, and saw the empty desk where Trunks once sat. Stacie looked at the teacher as she started reading out the attendence list, and waited for Trunks' name to be called. The teacher never read out the name Trunks Briefs. This happened in all of her classes. Heather also noticed in chemistry, that Trunks' name was not called.

"This is too weird. Angela is alive, and any evidence of Trunks, doesn't seem to exist, except the pictures, and our memories," Stacie said to Heather as they walked home after school.

"What I don't understand, is why it is only us who can remember this. I wonder if Trunks remembers us, and what happened here."

"I really don't know, and I guess we'll never find out," Stacie sighed as she looked into the sky.

Meanwhile, Trunks returned to the past and followed the original time line. He returned to his future, after he gave Goku the heart medicine, and told his mother of the events which occured in the future.

"Do you think I'll ever get to see her again?" he asked his mom.

"Oh honey, I doubt she even remembers you. If you changed the past, you changed her past, and her memory," Bulma said, hugging her son.

"But what if.. after we defeat the androids, I still remember her?"

"Then, there is a chance she will remember you. Anything is possible with time travel," Bulma said as she cleaned.

"She.. she defeated #17."

"Huh?"

"Stacie.. the girl from the future, is the one who defeated #17 in her time."

"Really? Was she a saiyajin?" Bulma asked.

"No, thats the strange part. She was just an ordinary human with an ordinary power level. So if an ordinary girl can do it, so can we," he smiled as he looked at the picture of himself and Stacie. "I will see you again, someday. I don't know why, but I know we will be together again..."
