A Forbidden Past - Chapter 12
Confusion

Stacie felt like she had run forever. She finally stopped in a small park at the other side of town. She walked by a small pond which was surrounded by weeping willow trees, and sat down against one. She brought her knees close to her body and wrapped her arms around them.

"Why?" she cried as she stared into the pond. "I don't care about myself, only you!" Stacie began to sob again, thinking about what Trunks had said to her. "I don't care what the androids do to me anymore, as long as you can save your future. Even if they kill me, I want whats best for you! Why can't you understand that?" she cried to herself. The tears rolled down her face and landed on the ground below. Stacie rubbed her eyes, as there were quite a few people in the park, and she didn't feel like making too much of a scene. She stretched her legs out and leaned back against the tree, not having any energy left to move.

She heard several voices behind her. "Why is she crying? Not like she has any friends to lose."

"Hey, shut up! She saved my life," another replied. The person walked over to Stacie and tapped her on the shoulder. "Hey Stacie? Are you alright?" Heather asked.

"Oh, umm, yea I'm fine," she said, trying to wipe away the tears. Stacie continued to look out over the pond and watched the changing reflections on the water.

"Are you sure? Where's Trunks?" Heather asked as she kneeled down beside Stacie.

"Oh, he's back at my house. I just wasn't feeling good, so I thought I'd take a walk."

"Why were you crying?"

"Me? I wasn't crying," Stacie said, trying to cover up her fight with Trunks.

"Oh, it sounded like you were. Sorry," replied Heather.

"Hey, Heather! Are you coming or what?" one of her friends, Angela, yelled at her.

"No, I'm going to stay here for now. I'll catch up with you later," she yelled back.

"Whatever," her friends laughed as they walked away.

"Hey Stacie, you still haven't told me who that guy was who attacked us yesterday."

"Oh him? I told you don't worry about it. Trunks and I are going to take care of it," she replied. "Or at least I hope so," she thought to herself.

"Well, I am worried about it! I don't want him attacking me again. Just tell me, and I'll leave you alone about it! I promise," Heather smiled.

"Why are you being so nice to me all of the sudden?" Stacie asked suspiciously.

"Well, you saved me when you could of left me for dead. Isn't that a good enough reason to be friends?"

Stacie sighed as she looked out over the pond. "Pretty, isn't it?" Stacie said.

"What is?"

"The pond. Each ripple, acting individually, until it collides with something, altering its course. Altering the reflection."

"Oh, yea I guess," she replied as she looked at the pond. The two girls sat in silence as they watched the sunlight reflect off of the water. People continued to walk behind them on the path as they sat under the large tree. "So who is he?"

"Who?"

"The black haired guy who attacked us."

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," Stacie said, shaking her head.

"Why do you keep saying that? I'm not that stupid!"

Stacie let out a large sigh and looked over at Heather. "Do you promise me you won't tell anyone? Not a single person?"

"Yea sure! It can't be that big of a deal," she replied.

"Well it is! Do you promise?" she asked again.

"Yes! Yes I promise I won't tell anyone," Heather finally said.

"Okay, I'll explain everything. I'll explain about Trunks and the black haired guy," Stacie sighed as she begun her story. About 15 minutes later, she finished with Heather staring blankly at Stacie.

"So, you expect me to believe, your anime characters are real, one protecting you, and two trying to kill you, who are actually androids, because you are some new race, like Trunks, who doesn't actually exist?"

"No, I'm not a saiyajin. Trunks is while the other two are androids."

"So what was with the funky little eye thing Trunks did at the school?" she asked, still not completely believing Stacie.

"That? He was getting mad. I'm sure I ask him nicely when you are around, he'll show you."

"Oh... umm.. ok. Just like he can fly right?" Heather said as she started to laugh histerically.

"Fine, don't believe me. I knew you wouldn't," Stacie sighed as she looked back out across the lake.

"You are a funny girl, Stacie! I really should hang around you more often. I've got to go and find some people who have a normal life! Cya around!" Heather laughed as she got up and brushed herself off. She turned around to leave and immediately stopped. "Uhhh, Stacie?" she whispered. Stacie, thinking Heather had another joke, completely ignored her. "STACIE!" she said a bit louder.

"What do you want now?" she muttered.

"Ummmmm, the black haired guy is standing over there with the blonde haired girl. They look slightly mad," she said, trembling.

"Whatever," Stacie said as she put her head down.

"I'M NOT JOKING! LOOK FOR YOURSELF!" she said nudging Stacie with her foot. Stacie forced herself to her hands and knees and looked around the tree.

"Oh shit!" Stacie said as she saw the two androids standing across the path. "I don't think they've noticed me yet, but don't make a scene and they might leave you alone!"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN MIGHT?!" she screamed at Stacie. #17 and #18 both heard Heather's screams and began to walk towards her. "THEY'RE COMING THIS WAY" she screamed as she began to panic. As #17 walked across the path, a skateboarder came by and crashed into him.

"HEY! Watch where you are going asshole!" the skateboarder yelled as he fell to the ground. Juunanagou looked at the skateboard which was at his feet, and stepped on it, breaking it in half.

"Stupid human," he muttered and continued walking towards Heather.

"WHAT THE HELL? Hey asshole, that was an expensive skateboard! You better pay up or I'm gonna kick your ass!" he yelled as he rose to his feet. #17 stopped and turned around, looking at the boarder. "Bring it on tough guy!" the boarder yelled as he put his fists up.

"NO DON'T FIGHT HIM! RUN!" Heather screamed from behind the tree.

"Huh?" the skateboarder looked over towards Heather. In that split second, #17 punched his arm right through the boarder's stomach, sending him to the ground in a pool of blood.

"OH MY GOD! HE JUST KILLED THAT GUY!" Heather screamed as Stacie stood up against the tree. Everyone else who was in the park had run away fearing for their lives.

"Heather! Calm down! We can get out of this if you just calm yourself," Stacie said consoling the panicing girl.

"Okay.. okay.." she said breathing heavily.

"If I run one way, they should come after me since I'm wearing the Capsule Corp. logo. If you run in the other direction, try to get to my house to find Trunks. Okay?" she said to Heather.

"Okay that sounds like a good... Oh no!" she said as she looked down the path.

"What? Is it Trunks?" Stacie asked.

"No, one of my friends is coming back here to get me," Heather whispered as her friend waved.

"Heather! Come on! What are you still doing here?" she yelled across the park.

"GET OUT OF HERE, ANGELA!" Heather yelled to her friend. The androids both looked over at the girl who was walking towards them.

"RUN!" Stacie yelled at the clueless girl.

"No! Why should I listen to you, you stupid bitch?" the girl sneered at Stacie as she walked up to the tree where Heather and Stacie were standing.

"You are in danger here!" Heather said to her friend.

"Whoa? What did Stacie do to you?" Angela laughed.

"No, seriously! Look around the tree if you don't believe me!" Heather said to her friend. Angela peered out around the tree to see the two androids staring at her.

"Wow, the kid with the black hair is a hottie!" she smiled. "Why am I in danger exactly?"

"LOOK ON THE GROUND BEHIND HIM!" Heather yelled at her dense friend. Angela looked around the tree again to see the bloody skateboarder on the ground. He then noticed the blood dripping off the hand of #17.

"HOLY SHIT!" Angela screamed. "What are we going to do?"

"You and I are going to run off this way to find Stacie's friend, Trunks. He'll help us!" Heather said. "Stacie's going to run in the other direction to have those two people chase her."

"WHAT? That's crazy!!!!" Angela cried. "Oh my god I'm going to die out here!"

"No you won't! Just have hope, and you'll be ok!" Stacie said. "Ready to go guys?"

"I guess so," they both replied.

"On 3! 1.. 2.. 3!" Stacie yelled as Stacie ran to the right, while the other two ran to the left of the tree.

"OW SHIT!" Angela yelled as she tripped on a root from the tree.

"ANGELA!" both Stacie and Heather yelled as they turned around. Immediately, #18 flew towards Angela. Angela screamed as the android flew at her. Juuhachigou's foot swung around, making contact with Angela's face. Angela flew up into the air, with a spray of blood coming from her mouth and nose.

"NO!" Heather screamed as she helplessly watched her friend being killed infront of her eyes. Angela's head was now tilted sideways as her neck was broken from the force of the kick. She continued through the air until she landed in the pond with a large splash, as everything fell silent in the park.
