Garlic - The father of Garlic Junior, Garlic was born in 300 A.D. and competed with the orginal Piccolo for the seat of Kami, but was not able to ascend to the throne because the previous Kami saw his evil ambitions. he revolted, but was sealed away in an negative space.
Garlic Junior - Garlic Junior is the son of his evil father, Garlic. He was the main villan in the first DBZ movie "Return my Gohan" where he was sealed in the dead zone for eternity but a strange combination of things enabled him to escape. He returned to Earth with his henchmen the "spice boys" imprisoned Kame and Popo and turned most of the Earth's population into his loyal drones. However thanks to Piccolo, Gohan and Krillin everything is brought back to normal and Garlic Junior is again sucked back into a new inescapable dead zone which he created. Garlic Junior gained power and became larger when the Makyo star neared the Earth.
General Tao (Tao Pai Pai) - A world renowned assasin who was formerly with the Red Ribbon Army. General Tao faces off against Goku is is beaing beaten so throws a grenade at Goku which Goku throws back at him. After this he is rebuilt as a cyborg (like Frieza) he returns during the Cell saga working for a Mob boss and tries to fool Goku by giving him some puzzles but Goku solves them and wins the day
Ginger - One Garlic Junior's henchmen and leader of the Ginger three from Dragonball Z Movie 1, Dead Zone. He's killed by Goku's Kamehameha.
Ginger - Piccolo's road rage prone driving instructor who has ginger hair when Piccolo attempts to learn to drive
(Son) Gohan - Gohan is Goku and Chi Chi's first son who is named after Goku's adoptive grandfather who found Goku and looked after him. He was born in the year 757 AD and when he first appears in DBZ he is 4 years old (not five and half like the American version says). In the beginning Gohan is a kid with a lot of power but unfortunately it is uncontollable which Piccolo wants to change when he trains him (the first part of his training being left in the woods for six months and told to survive). After this he trains with Piccolo and due to his kind heart Piccolo stops being pure evil and goodness grows within him. When the Saiyans arrive Gohan is almost killed but is saved thanks to a sacrifice from Piccolo that kills him but saves Gohan. He then journeys to Namek to wish him back and fights the Ginyu Force and Frieza and does okay but he's still not that strong. The only time that Gohans potential shines is during the Cell Saga when he becomes the first saiyan to achieve Super Saiyan 2 and becomes the saviour of Earth after he destroys Cell. After the Cell Saga Toriyama wanted the manga to focus on Gohan but thats not how the majority of fans wanted it so he backed off and Gohan had his adventures as the Great Saiyaman. In the Buu saga Gohan makes friends with a girl named Videl and competes in the World Tournament. Gohan eventually gains a huge power up from Old Kai and becomes Mystic Gohan (which is stronger than Super Saiyan 2). After the Buu saga he settles down and becomes a scholar and marries Videl and has a daughter named Pan.
(Son) Goku - Goku was born in the year 737 AD on the planet Vegeta before being sent to Earth to destroy it's life and prepare it for sale by the evil Frieza. He landed in a forest on Mount Paozu where he was discovered by a old man named Gohan. Gohan tried to raise him but he was violent then one day he fell into a ravine and bumped his head this caused him to forget his mission and become a good boy. In the year 756 AD he marries his wife, Chi Chi, and in May 757 she gives birth to their first child, Gohan. Sometime later in May of 767 AD their second child, Goten, is born. Goku is the first saiyan in over a thousand years to go Super Saiyan and the first ever to go Super Saiyan 3. Goku dies twice in DBZ. The first time is when Piccolo's is when Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon pierces his heart while he was restraining his evil brother Raditz and the second time was when he teleported Cell to King Kai's planet where he would detonate "safely". After his first death he was brought back to life with the Earths dragonballs while the second time, Old Kai gave his life to Goku. In Dragonball GT he becomes a kid agaion thanks to a wish made by Emperor Pilaf. He then goes round the glaxy searching for the Dragonballs with Trunks and his grand daughter, Pan. Goku's home address on Mount Paozu is 439 East District. At his fully grown state he stands 5' 7"tall and weighs 137 lbs.
Goten - Goku's second son. Goten was born in 767 AD. Goten goes super siyan at an early age due to his training from his mother, Chi Chi and the fact he was born when his father was stronger. Goten never saw his father as he died just after he was born. Goten does eventually see him though when he comes back to compete in the Worlds Martial Arts Tournament. Goten fights in the junior division and manages to defeat all of his compeditors with ease except for Trunks who he narrowly loses to ,and is also his best friend, in the final. Goten becomes a great ally in the fight with Buu thanks to his ability to merge with Trunks and become Gotenks but after Buu is defeated he doesn't fight as much and by the time Dragonball GT begins he's much more interested in getting a date....
Gotenks - The fusion between Goten and Trunks. Gotenks may look small but he has very strong. Gotenks battles Majin Buu twice. The first time he battles hes not even a super saiyan and loses pitifully while the second time he battles Super Buu in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber although it later continues to Kami's lookout (which is destroyed) and the concludes on Earth. During the fight Toriyama returns to his gag style of animation and writing as Gotenks uses his hillarious range of attacks. While many of attacks are lame there are some good ones like Super Ghost Kamikaze. Gotenks is the only saiyan able to achieve Super Saiyan 3 apart from Goku which is a valuable asset in the battle against Buu,. However Gotenks toys with Buu due to the cockiness that comes from fusion and defuses before he can destroy Buu.
Goz - Goz is a big blue ogre who sumo wrestles with Goku when he falls off snakeway into the home for infinite losers (in other words HELL!)
Grand Kai (Dai Kaiou) - Remember King Kai (also known as North Kai) Well as you probably know there are four Kai's (North, South, East and West) who govern the four regions of the galaxy well their boss is the Grand Kai. He's never seen in the manga but in the anime he is seen in the Other World Tournament Saga and is portrayed as a punkish old geezer. He is much stronger than the other Kai's but although he never admits it Goku is way stronger than he is.
Grandpa Gohan - Born in the year 658, Gohan was a martial arts master who was trained by Master Roshi. Gohan was walking through the forest one day on Mount Paozu when he come across a spaceship contaiining a Saiyan named Kakarot! He tried to raise the boy but he was too violent at least untill the day that he fell into a ravine and bumped his head after this Kakarot (Goku) become a good friendly child and Gohan taught him martial arts they all lived happily together until one day when a young Goku looked at a full moon and transformed into a huge ape (Ozouru). Gohan was was no match for this beast and was stepped on, killing him instantly.
Great Saiyaman - Gohan's alter ego during his high school life he changes into a costume which he uses to protect his identity when he fights crime. A watch invented by Bulma enables him to change back and forth between superhero and his normal self. He performs many good deeds for Satan City and a movie is even made about him. Aside from being a hero he's famous for his ridiculous poses and phrases.
Great Saiyaman 2 - In the anime and Dragonball Z movie 13 Videl teams up with Gohan on his crusade of justice. She wears an outfit similar to his, but it's definately got a woman's touch.
Gregory - Gregory is King Kai's motor mouth cricket/grasshopper that serves as another training exercise. Gregory makes fun of all those whom he thinks is not good enough.
Guldo (Gurudo) - Guldo is the smallest and the least powerful member of the Ginyu Force. he may be weak but he has some cool moves including the ablity to freeze time and and to telepathically freeze people in their place (which would of been the end of Gohan and Krillin). Vegeta decaptitates him and then blows it up.
Guru (Saichorou) - Guru is the eldest Namek, the creator of the dragonballs and the father of all the Nameks he also has some cool moves including to read minds and awake hidden powers. Guru modelled the Namekian dragon, Porunga on a figure he saw in a dream he dies of stress on Namek but is wished back and goes to Earth but before he dies again he chooses Muuri to be his succesor as Guru.

Haachi - A Chinese boy who lives with the orphans Gohan finds when he escapes his training.

Icarus (Haiya/Higher Dragon) - Gohan's purple dragon friend he became friends with Gohan after he saved him from a burning forest (seen in DBZ Movie 3) he appeared in several of the DBZ movies and some episodes of DBZ.
Idasa - Ikose's fifteen year old brother who is easily defeated by Trunks in the junior division of the 25th World Tournament. He was born in 759 AD
Ikose - A fourteen year old who is Idasa's brother and fights Goten in the junior division of the 25th World Tournament and gets k'oed with a mere tap from Goten's fist. He was born in 760 AD
J
Jeice - A member of the Ginyu Force, Jeice looks a rock star and has white hair he has some good techniques like the fire crasher ball although he is not as strong as Recoome or as fast as Burter. He is killed by Vegeta. His power level was about 50,000.
Jewel - A compeditor in the 25th World Tournament who makes it into the finals. He fought in the previous tournament final where he was defeated by Hercule. In the 25th tournament he gets knocked out by Android 18 in the battle royale
Jinku - One of the orphans Gohan meets when he ecapes from the wilderness he looks like a fox.
K
Kakao - An android member of Turles' team from Tree of Might who is killed by Goku
Kami (Kami Sama, Kame) - Kami was born in the year 250 AD on the planet Namek, he was the son of Katasu he was sent to Earth as their was fear that a violent storm would destroy Namek (only Guru survived it) after growing up on Earth alone. He decided to be Kami so he trained with the current Kami and in 431 AD he ascended to the throne and he ruled until 467 AD when he re-merged with Piccolo.
Kargo (Cargo) - This is Dende's brother. He was killed by Dodoria when he tried to run away from him he is later revived with the Earth's dragonballs.
Karoni (Caroni) - One of Mr Satan's pupils in the Cell Games he fights Cell but loses terribly and ends up falling to the ground and leaves a cartoonish shaped hole and loses a lot of his teeth
Karin (Korin) - Karin is the 800 year old white cat that lives on top of Karin tower he is just below Kame in rank. Karin originally trained Goku and helped him defeat the evil Piccolo Daimoau. Karin is the only one who can grow the senzu beans who instantly, when eaten restore someones health. Eventually Yaijirobe ends up living with him.
Kibito - The assistant of the Supreme Kai (East Kaioshin) who has the ability to heal people which he does after Gohan's energy is stolen by Spopovitch and Yamu. He's killed by Dabura but is revived by the dragon. He later fuses with his master via the Potara Earings.
Kibito Kai - The fusion of Kibito and the Supreme Kai. The Kibito Kai fusion actually happens accidently after Old Kai tells Kibito, Supreme Kai and Goku about fusion by the Potara Earings which Supreme Kai and Kibito eagerly try it out and end up fusing together to become Kibito Kai. It is only after the fusion that Old Kai tells Kibito Kai to their shock that the fusion is permanent! Supreme Kai is the dominant part of Kibito Kai in both his voice, personality and memories (in fact Kibito seems to have been supressed completely). Kibito Kai was formed on May 8th 774 A.D.
Kid Buu - Kid Buu was Majin Buu's original form before he absorbed Dai Kaio and South Supreme Kai millions of years ago and became Fat Buu. Kid Buu returns again in the Majin Buu saga as the result of Vegeta detaching Fat Buu from inside of Super Buu. By removing all of Fat Buu, Buu no longer has anything that was previously in him, and reverts back to his original child-like form popularly reffered to as Kid Buu. Kid buu wastes no time proving that he's insane by blowing up the earth with him on it. it's after this event that the final battle takes place on the holy planet of Kaioshin Kai. Kid Buu is completely destroyed by Goku's super Spirit Bomb. Thanks to Goku's request he's laster reincarnated as a good person in the form of Uub (for more info on Buu see also Majin Buu (Buu's origins), Fat Buu, Evil Buu and Super Buu)
Killa (Killer) - An African-American compeditor in the 25th World Tournament who makes it to the finals before he is defeated by Mighty Mask (Goten and Trunks)
King Kai (Kaiou of the north) - King Kai lives in the other dimension on a small planet at the end of snakeway that has 10 times the gravity of Earth with his animals Bubbles and Gregory. He trained Goku and taught him the Spirit Bomb and Kaioken attacks later on he trained Yamcha, Chaozu and Tien (Piccolo is debatable because he did his own thing). King Kai was killed in the year 767 A.D after Goku brought Cell to his planet to detonate "safely". In the anime the other kais made fun of his death and held the Otherworld Tournament in "honour" of his death.
King Moai - The evil ruler of Arlia he was killed by Vegeta when he shot a rock through his chest.
King Kold - Frieza's dad who accompanies him on his trip to Earth. Hes stronger than Frieza but still no match for Trunks who fires a blast into his chest and then annihilates him with a point blan ki blast
King Vegeta (Vegeta Ou) - The strong Saiyan ruler of planet Vegeta he gave his son to Frieza and tried to defeat him but Frieza easily killed him and the rest of the planets warriors.
King Yemma (Enma Daiou) - A giant orange ogre that decides if people go to heaven or hell he lets Goku travel along snakeway to try and reach King Kai.
Kishime - a villain built by Dr Kochin in The Worlds Stongest who looks like a cross between a catfish and an eel who can shock people with his electric tentacles.
Knock (Nokku) - A testosterone filled youth who competes in the 28th Tenkaichi Budokai. His opponent is Vegeta and before the competition even begins, he goes up to Vegeta calling him an "old man". When Vegeta doesn't reply Nokku laughs and tells him to, "Die! Hahaha!". Vegeta raises his fist without even turning around and smashes the kid about 20 feet away into a brick wall.
Krillin (Kuririn) - Krillin is one of the strongest human warriors on the planet Earth and is a member of the Orinji temple a place of monks. The six dots on his head are scars which are burned into the forehead of each member. He dies when Frieza kills him but is revived with the Namekian dragonballs. Krillin is bald for most of Dragonball Z as he shaves his head so his opponents don't grab his hair during a fight but lets it grow in the seven years after the Cell Games. Krillins wife is Android 18 and together they have a daughter named Marron. Krillin was born in the year 736 AD and is one year older than his best friend Goku.
Koryu - a ten year old sumo like compeditor in the junior division of the 25th World Tournament
Kui (Kewie, Kiwi) - Kui was one of Frieza's top men and has a power of about 19,000 he is the first to be killed by Vegeta on Namek.

Lemlia - The princess of planet Arlia who was forced to leave her husband and marry the evil King Moai she dies when Vegeta blows up Arlia.
Lime - A girl Gohan meets during his training for the Cell Games he rescues her from a river. He later meets up with her in Chazke village and finds out that her parents were killed by Cell and that she was being looked after by an old bartender. He helps her and her "grandfather" fight General Tao and Barbone.
Lord Slug - The main villain of DBZ! movie 4 Slug is a mutant Namekian who didn't know he was from planet Namek. He's the emperor of a frozen, sunless planet. Slug wants to make Earth his new home but first uses the dragonballs to become young again (hes quite old). He tries to conquer Earth but he is killed by Gokus spirit bomb..

Majin Buu - Buu was created around 5 million years ago by the magician Bibidi to cause fear and destruction. Buu went from planet to planet destroying everything. Originally Buu looked like a kid. The only problem with Buu was that he was completely insane and Bibidi had a hard time controlling him. Finally Buu arrived at the planet of the Kai's and began to kill them one at a time. First he killed West Supreme Kai then North Supreme Kai he then moved on to the strongest of the group, North Surpeme Kai, but instead of killing himhe absorbed him he moved on to East Supreme Kai (the one we know) but he was defended by Dai Kaioshin and Buu absorbed him as well. After absorbing Dai Kaioshin Buu becomes what we know as Fat Buu taking of the characterestics of Dai Kaioshin becoming very child like and obedient and who will do almost anything to get food. Anyway time passes and Buu is sealed in his spehre by Bibidi and left on Earth. Several million years later Bibidi's son, Babidi, begins a quest to resurrect Buu and many years later Buu is finally resurrected in 774 AD.
Due to the many forms of Buu with their many different personalities I'm going to list them as different characters so see Fat Buu (Mr Buu) for Buu's first form, Evil Buu (Thin Buu, Skinny Buu) for his second form and Super Buu for his third form. Complete with pictures of each form!
Mariakoh - A large dinosaur like comepditor in the Other World Tournament
Maron - Krillin's ex-girlfriend, Maron looks similar to Bulma but is much dumber to say the least. Krillin tries to propose to her but she ditches him for a guy in a red sports car. She later shows up during the Android saga looking for Krillin but after she can't find him so she leaves and is never seen again.
Marron - Krillin and Android 18's daughter born in the year 771 AD. She's only three when she's first seen and looks a lot like Krillin except for the blonde hair inherited for her mother. I supposed your wondering how an android can have a daughter well Android 18 was orginally a human and after she was modified by Dr Gero she is still mostly human...
Master Roshi (Kame Sennin, Muten Roshi) - Master Roshi was born in the year 430 AD and became the strongest fighter on Earth after his sensei was killed by Piccolo Daimaou. He participated in tournaments known as the Tenkachi Budokai and won all of them up to the 22nd Budokai. In September 749 AD he began training Goku and Krillin. He was the one who invented the Kamehameha (it took him 50 years to master). He is later surpassed by all of the Z warriors but never loses his fighting spirit. He also a pervert who owns the largest collection of porn magazines. He lives on a small island called...... Master Roshi's island!!
Meta Cooler - The villain from DBZ Movie 6 Meta Cooler is a creation of the Big Ghetti Star. meta Cooler is amazingly powerful and since hes entirely mechanical he can regenerate body parts from internal wires and metal reserves. Goku and Vegeta both rush at him at full power and manage to completely destroy himonly for him to create thousands of copies of himself manufactured by the Big Ghetti Star. Goku and Vegtea are defeated by the Meta Coolers and are hooked up to the core of the Big Ghetti Star where Coolers brain is.
Metamatcha - The frog-like henchmen of Lord Slug who can make little clones of himself to ditract his opponent. He's killed by Goku
Mez - The red ogre who Goku plays tag with so that he can find the way back to snakeway.
Mighty Mask - A masked compeditor in the 25th World Tournament who makes it into the finals. He is knocked out buy Goten and Trunks who steal his costume
Migoren - a human-like dog compeditor in the Other World Tournament who died 7,000 years ago
Minkatsun - A large and very obese android built by Dr Kochin in DBZ Movie 2, The Worlds Stongest. Goku kills him by blasting through his rubber like stomach.
Mr Popo - Kami's faithful servant he has been the servant of all previous Kami's his job is basically to look after the Kami and to tend the palace. Although he doesn't seem it he is strong and very fast. He trained Goku for three years and taught him to sense ki he also has a magic carpet.
Mr Satan (Hercule, Mr Savage) - The supposed world champion he is actually quite strong as he demonstrated when he pulled four buses across a stadium but hes obviously not nearly as strong as Cell or the Z fighters. The majority of the people on Earth believe that he is the strongest man in the world and who saved the world from Cell. The supposed defeat of Cell makes hima hge celebrity and he has a city named after him (Satan City, the citys original name was Orange Star City). Mr Satan is no where near as powerful as Goku and the gang and lied about defeating Cell (obviously). When Cell was killed htere was a huge flash of light and no one see what happened so Satan claimed victory. None of the Z Fighters ever let on that they saved the world as they don't car for fame of any type. He has a daughter named Videl. Regardless of the fact that he has a gigantic ego his heart is in the right place. Satan really loves his daughter more than anything and would do anything for her. He befriends Fat Buu and turns him away from evil (until the human hunters appear that is). Fat Buu and Mr Satan share the dog Bee.
Mr Shu - The guy Chi Chi hires to tutor Gohan but hes a real evil guy as he whips Gohan when he doesn't do his work right. Chi Chi doesn't realise about this until one day she hears him badmouth Goku and then she flips out and throws him out the window and chases him off the property!
Muuri - The eldest Namek of his village where Kargo and Dende lived. He is killed by Dodoria but later revived with the Earth Dragonballs. Just before Guru dies he selects Muuri to be his succesor
Musaka - The owner of a circus in Satan City who steals a Pteranodon baby named Chobi and makes him a part of the circus.
Mustard (Taado) - One of Garlic Juniors henchmen. He looks like an oversized bull with the face of a frog. He dies the same time as Salt (killed by Gohan)
