Ask Gohan

Originally when this site was open this was the place to go go to get me to answer your question unfortunately as you can see most people emailed me with questions like could so and so beat so and so in a fight or did (insert character) ever use the (insert move) technique? Anyways this section is now closed and I'm not responding to any questions you may ask me.

Did Vegeta use a Renzokou Kikou Ha attack on Captain Ginyu?
How many of times did Piccolo got healed by Dende in Freiza Saga?
How many times did Tienshinhan use his Shin-Kikoho attack on Semi-Perfect Cell?
When are you going to add the power levels for Majin Buu Saga?
from Justin
Hi! Firstly I don't think Vegeta did use the Renzoku Kikou Ha technique on Captain Ginyu but he does use it often (against Zarbon for instance). Piccolo got healed twice by dende in the Frieza saga the first was after his fight with Frieza while the second was on Earth after having his shoulder pierced by Frieza's Death Beam. There's no way to acuurately calculate how many times Tien used the Shi-Kikoho (aka Tri Beam) against Semi-Perfect Cell as he uses it so many times and often we go to another scene while Tien was still doing the technique! Finally the Majin Buu saga power levels are on the site now check them out here!

*NZ* Hi Do you know where to get Buu Saga CCG? I went to Electronics Boutique and
Central Park Interactive but they dont have them so where can I buy it and one more thing Can you please tell me where to buy the videos and where is the Manga NZ store?
from Rizwan
Wow I can't believe that neither store had the Buu saga! I went to my local Electronics Boutique store and they did have it so its possible they had simply sold out. Here's a list of stores that sell the DBZ CCG so try these out (Just to be complete I've added EB and Central Park to the list)
DBZ CCG Stores - Electronic Boutique, Central Park Interactive, The Warehouse, Toyworld, The Video Shop.
All those listed above are stores I know that sell the DBZ CCG but may not have the Buu saga. I'd also check your local comic book store.
Finding DBZ videos is getting quite hard now (Its much easier to find the DVD's) but The Warehouse and Toyworld are places that I know stock DBZ videos but if they don't have the one you want then I would suggest you ask them to order one for you as the staff will most likely be more than willing to help you. On a side note if you have a choice I'd buy the DVD's being easier to find and being alot more uncut than the videos and if you know where to look the prices aren't all the different (videos $20-$40, DVD's $25-$40). Or you could order them online but more on that in the next answer...
Finally the Manga question...Manga Entertainment (who bring all the DBZ releases into New Zealand) doesn't have a physical store (one you can walk into) but they do have an online shop at
www.manga.co.nz which you can buy DBZ video, DBZ DVD's and the American DBZ soundtracks (view their entire DBZ catalogue here). Buying a video for instance will cost you $23.60 (DVD's are $43.60) including GST and delivery charges and you have the option of paying by either cheque or credit card. Thanks for your question and I'll see you all next week!

What was Recoome,Jeice,Burter and Guldo power levels on King Kai Planet.
Did Tienshinhan,Yamcha,Krillin and Chaotzu ever went to train with Korin-Sama the cat.?
From Justin
I don't think that the Ginyu Force's power levels increased at all between the time they died to when they fought on King Kai's so that would amke Guldo's level at 10,000 Recoome at 40,000, Burter at 45,000 and Jeice at 50,000.
Yes, Tien, Yamcha, Krillin and Chaozu trained with Korin during Dragonball in preparation for the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai

Hi, I was wondering if Piccolo ever learned the Kaio-Ken Style from King Kai.
2. Did Piccolo use a Kaio-Ken attack on Prince Frieza?
3. Did Tienshinhan,Yamcha and Chaotzu ever learn the Kaio-Ken Style.
4. I was looking at a web-site and It said that King Kai have only taught them to train and become a lot stronger but and also says that Tienshinhan,Yamcha and Chaotzu may have learn how to perform the '' True Kaio-Ken Style.
5. What is True Kaio-Ken Style?
6. If Piccolo used a Kaio-Ken,What was his power level? Because if Piccolo power level in Freiza Saga was 800,000 to 880,000 maxed out

Good questions. I don't think Piccolo learned the Kaioken technique from King Kai as basically Piccolo thought King Kai's training techniques were stupid and didn't bother to learn anyhing from him all he did was meditate and perhaps some Image training (where you can fight someone in your mind) so therefore he didn't use the technique on Frieza as he didn't know it. As for Tien, Yamcha and Chaozu well they didn't learn it either (In fact what DID they the learn from King Kai?). As possible explanation as to why outside of the story is that Akira Toriyama planned to end the series in the Frieza saga and there was no point in them learning the technique as he was not going to bring them back to life...
As for the whole True Kaioken thing I looked it up and if not mistaken its simply in case of you mistaking what the site has wrote. Did you go to
this site and find about True Kaioken cause if you did then all the site was saying is that Tien, Yamcha and Chaozu were incapable of learning the True Kaioken style meaning that they lacked the abiltiy to learn Kaioken for some reason although this reason is never explained. Hope this helps!

I was looking at your website and It looks great. I was thinking when are you going to add the Dragonball Power Levels?
And I would like to ask you a question about Tienshinhan's
(also known as Tien) power level in the Freiza Saga.
1. What kind of an attack did Yamcha use to defeat Recoome on King Kai Planet.
2. What was Yamcha's power level doing that attack on Recoome?
3. What kind of an attack did Tienshinhan use to defeat Jeice and Burter on King Kai Planet.
4. What was Tienshinhan's power level doing that attack on them.
From Anonymous
Thanks for your email. Starting with your Dragonball power levels question if I add them it will be when Dragonball is released in New Zealand (its not avaiable here yet). The official Dragonball power levels I know at the moment are...
Goku at the beginning of Dragonball: 10
Goku Ozouru (when he transforms in Pilaf's castle):100
Master Roshi: 139 (his power doesn't change throughout the whole series supposedly)
The rest of the power levels I'll do later in the year sometime..As for your other questions well here we go...
Tiens power level during the fight between him, Burter and Jeice is defintely higher than both their power levels making his power level about 55,000. As for Yamcha vs Recoome well Yamcha's power is probably around 45,000. Tien and Yamcha's powers during their attacks on their opponents is almost impossible to work out as it could literally be any number and I'm not going to try and pick one. The whole Ginyu force on King Kai's planet is an anime only event anyway and anime only scenes are even more difficult to work out.
As for their attacks on them well I'm not sure what attack Yamcha used but it seemed like a basic energy blast. I did however identify Tien's move that sent Burter and Jeice flying as being the Kiai technique where you yell and then energy explodes from around you. Goku used this technique as well against Burter and Jeice in the episode "Ginyu Assault" where he used it to deflect their energy blasts just by yelling loudly - that was a Kiai as well. Talk about Deja Vu!

You said on your website that Dragonball GT is coming here [to New Zealand] in October so how come that you said it will screen in April?
From Rizwan

October was the original date that I said that Dragonball GT would be released on video and DVD while the April date is for when at the earliest Dragonball GT will screen on TV3. The earliest date for the video and DVD release of GT has changed and is now November 2003. Dragonball and Dragonball GT have both been said in the Manga catalogue to be coming "Late 2003" so it will either be November or December! Sorry about the confusion! Like I said in the GT question below just keeping checking the main page of the site as when I find out I'll announce it there first!
19/7/03 - Dragonball GT will be released in New Zealand in October 2003

When is GT going to be in New Zealand?
When is the DB GT series going to come out in Australia?
When will GT be on TV in America?

(From Various People)

In case you don't know Dragonball GT is the sequel series to Dragonball Z and the final series in the Dragonball Trilogy (which is Dragonball,Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT). It has recently (April 15 2003) been released in America.
At the Armageddon it was said that Dragonball GT would be released in New Zealand in September. Australia usually gets DB releases a month before us in NZ so I'd say GT will be in Australia in August. As for GT being on TV as of writing this it has not been announced but I'd say November at the earliest as for GT on TV in NZ I'd say April 2004 at the very earliest. Keep checking the
main page of the site for any news that might come up!

Today I saw on your site on animated gifs the moving pictures of Raditz and Zarbon.
Now I have an SNES emulator and all the DBZ roms and i know that all these pictures come from these games. So now my question is how to get them. I thank you for your help
Greetings Anton

Yeah its true that 95% of all the animated gifs are from a DBZ video game of some sort but I have to admit that I didn't make any of the gifs on my site...
I know how to but I don't have the proper program (I made one of Gohan doing eye lasers but thats not on this site).
By asking how to get them I'm not sure what you really mean. f your asking how to move a character from a ROM into a program so you can animate it then try this... I'm not sure if this will work but if you open the video game that you want a character from. Then have your character on the screen and then push he number keys which will get rid of the backgrounds.
Then again your probably wondering how people get characters like Raditz or Zarbon which aren't in a game, aren't you? Well some people have extreme talent and modify the "sprites" (a name for a character from a video game rom) to turn them into different characters although some also create them from scratch
(click here to see some sprites). I'm not really sure how they manage to do it!

*NZ* Why isnt new Dragonball Z on TV yet?
There is several probable reasons that the new episodes of DBZ (after Final Atonement) have not been played in New Zealand yet but the most likely is that TV3 doesnt have them or is waiting for the last fifteen episodes which have only recently finished in America in order to combine them with the episodes they already have and play Dragonball Z to the end of the series! In the meantime you can all whet your appetites by either renting or buying the videos or DVDs or checking out the
Season Six Picture Preview page on this site!
1/5/03 - New Dragonball Z is currently screening Monday-Thursday at 4.30pm on TV3

If Fat Buu is a result of evil Kid Buu absorbing Dai Kaioshin which makes him so happy and eventually good how come when he expelled all the evil from himself it wasnt Kid Buu but a adult grey Evil Buu that appeared or would that mean that Fat Buu would turn back to Dai Kaioshin
?
This is a tough one but the most likely answer is this a plot hole that youve discovered! The whole flashback in which the Supreme Kai remembers how all the Kais were absorbed was an anime only sequence created to explain why Fat Buu looked like he did (for more info on anime only read the
Only in the Anime article on this site).

*NZ* Do u know any where in Auckland or Wellington that sells DBZ CCG Singles? Me and my mate just started playing
There are several stores in both cities that sell DBZ CCG sections. In Wellington I only know of one place, Pulstar Max, but in Auckland there are several such as Vagabond Novelties and Collectables and King of Cards. Check your local Yellow Pages or local phonebook for other places and the addresses of the stores listed above.

Ive nearly got the whole series of DBZ on DVD except the last DVD, season 1 and a couple of the last Cell Games DVDs. Do you think its worth buying the current season 1 box sets or should I wait for the Funimation redub
?
Another tough question mainly because although FUNimation
says that they will redo the Saiyan and Namek sagas (up to episode 53) doesnt necessarily mean they will. I can see why you would want to know this Personally I would buy the season one boxsets even if they did re-release them uncut because I really love some of the original voices (especially the original Piccolo, Vegeta and Jeice) but as for you I dont know. Ask yourself this If you bought the season one boxsets and Funimation did re-release them uncut how much would it annoy you?

Does Buu get killed by Vegetas big explosion? (ya know where it ended on TV
)
No he doesnt although Vegeta dies as a result of performing the technique and Majin Buu is blown to pieces the pieces just rejoin and reform a perfectly fine Majin Buu. See the
Season Six Picture Preview section for pics of this happening!

Who thinks up all the characters names
?
Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragonball Z, thought up most of them although often Funimation renames them such as Mr Satan becoming Hercule or Bra becoming Bulla (for obvious reasons!).

Did Guldo get his head chopped off??
?
Yes he did although Funimation cut the part where Vegeta did this. If youve read the Dragonball Z graphic novels its in there. Hopefully if Funimation re-releases the first 53 episodes then we will eventually see the true death of the Ginyu Force member!

How many times has the Earth been destroyed and what were the circumstances of each destruction
?
I am assuming by this question that you mean completely destroyed, gone, vaporised. Up to the end of Dragonball Z I think it had been destroyed completely only once which was thanks to a psycho named Kid Buu

I was wondering I have visited many sites looking for the answer to who beats Buu, my friend told me Gohan did (which I personally would want that to happen) but all the sites I have visited have aid Goku beats him with a giant Genki-Dama or Spirit Bomb so I was just wondering who really beats Buu Gohan or Goku???

As much as I would want Gohan to defeat Buu it is indeed Goku who defeats Majin Buu with a spirit bomb whose energy he gathered from all the people in the world. The spirit bomb contains energy from Gohan, Goten, Picccolo, Bulma, Android 18, Trunks, Chi Chi, Yamcha, Krillin, Android 17 (yes hes still alive), Launch (aka Lunch), Android 8, Upa, Bora, Tien, Chaozu and many more

Please can you tell me who or what MAJIN (Majin Vegeta, Majin Buu) exactly is
?
Someone Majin is someone posessed or created by Babidi. As far as I know Ma means Demon (so Ma Junior means Demon Junior and Masenko means Demon Light) and Jin means Magic so Majin must mean Magic Demon or more likely a demon (someone evil) posssesed by use of magic!

Is there is a force bigger than SSJ4 ?!?!?!? I ask because i've seen some pictures of them !!!! They have have purple hair.......but i think it's just an illusion of crazy fans (like DB AF)
No there is no force stronger than a Super Saiyan 4! Super Saiyan 4 is ridiculously powerful as it is! The supposed image of Goku as a Super Saiyan 5 is fake and there is also no series after Dragonball GT called Dragonball AF!

In your site you say that Jeice's accent is Aussie but it is not it is an English accent from Liverpool just thought you might like to know

Actually hes both! Before episode 53 Jeice (who was then voiced by Scott McNeil) had a Liverpool, English accent but in episode 54 and after he was voiced by Chris Sabat who gave him an Australian
accent!
